Term Project Discussion This term project faced many issues and setbacks due to the innovative structural logic of the NEO Bankside building complex. Our goal was to generally capture the main idea of the external cable system (how it ties in to the reinforced concrete structure) and the system of cantilevers that exist at the ends of the structure. Considering the entire structure features 100% custom parts (everything from the beam connections to the cables), it was not an easy task for a group of students who have no experience in Revit. I feel that our understanding of the structure was minimally strengthened, having been hindered by the stress associated with BIM modeling and the lack of tutorials and knowledge for the structural components we had to detail, let alone model on a massive scale. With this said, I believe that the information contained in this report satisfies the requirements of this project as they relate best to our specific structure.
