Refund Policy The following is the refund amount for Degree Completion students who withdraw from a Degree Completion course:

Our DCP Program Students and Instructors now have immediate access to Sentenceworks, which is a program for institutions that provides feedback for the mechanics of a paper.

Before the start of the course .................100% Refund During the first calendar week....................50% Refund During the second calendar week..............25% Refund After the second calendar week.................. No Refund

The process for both students and instructors to access Sentenceworks is to log in as a “New User” to http://www. sentenceworks.com/ with their Tiffin University email address. Then, Sentenceworks will email a password back. At this point, the individual is a registered user and can use Sentenceworks from any computer.

A medical withdrawal is a 100% refund, but a written request must be submitted by the student along with verification from a physician. Students receiving federal financial aid should read the Return of Federal Financial Aid Policy: Title IV Funds below. Return of Federal Financial Aid Title IV Refund Policy Title IV funds include, but are not limited to Federal Pell Grant, Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, Federal PLUS loans and Additional Unsubsidized Student Loans. For federal financial aid purposes, a student who completes at least one course in a module and then withdraws is not considered to have withdrawn. However, because the student failed to begin attendance in the number of credit hours for which the Federal Aid was awarded, the institution must recalculate the student’s eligibility for aid based on a revised cost of education and enrollment. Disbursed loans may remain intact after the student’s eligibility has been calculated based on the reduced cost of attendance. Loans that have not been disbursed may not be available to the student. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.

Sentenceworks is an automated feedback program that provides grammar tutoring and citation auditing. It builds sentence-level writing skills by guiding students though the revision process and providing automated instructional feedback. To learn more about this writing tool go to http://www.sentenceworks.com/

If you have not already done so, please be sure to return your graduation application, cap and gown information, and plan of completion to your DCP advisor by December 10, 2010. In order to receive your diploma the following requirements must be met: • All module and non-module courses (121 credit hours) are completed. Any outstanding courses taken outside of Tiffin University require a final, official, transcript to be sent to Tiffin University, Degree Completion Admissions, 155 Miami Street, Tiffin, OH 44883. • One’s overall GPA needs to be a 2.0 and a 2.5 “major” GPA is required. • Completion of 13 hours of service learning and 13 hours of personal development co-curricular hours. • Completion of Exit Counseling, if you have taken out Stafford loans, at https://studentloans.gov/

GRADUATION CEREMONY DCP students that are eligible for Spring/Summer 2011 graduation are invited to take part in the Saturday, May 7, 2011 Commencement Ceremony. Tiffin University holds one Commencement Ceremony each year in May. In order to participate, students can have no more than 3 non-module courses outstanding. You can still be in process with your DCP courses in order to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. This is a great experience and we encourage all of our graduating DCP students to take part in this experience. More information about the specifics will be mailed directly to you in the upcoming months.

Pre-Commencement Graduation Reception

SAVE THE DATE

Date: Friday, May 6, 2011 To honor the Class of 2011, Tiffin University invites our graduating students and their guests to a Pre-Commencement Reception. This evening will be a meet & greet opportunity for students, faculty and staff. Light refreshments will be served. Please join us!

GRADUATION HONORS All course work that a student has completed at TU and all transferred college course work from another institution(s) that is used to meet specific TU degree requirements will be used in calculating graduation with honors. Distinction GPA Range Summa Cum Laude 3.90 – 4.00 Magna Cum Laude 3.70 – 3.89 Cum Laude 3.50 – 3.69 A student who has a 3.90 grade point average in Tiffin University classes, but transferred in mostly C’s and B’s from previous course work may have less than a 3.50 grade point average when grades for all transfer credits are included. The grades and credits transferred from another college are listed on the TU transcript. However, the cumulative grade point average on the TU transcript only reflects TU credit hours. Other Graduation Requirements Students must have a 2.50 cumulative grade point average in their “major” courses in order to graduate, regardless of the overall cumulative grade point average. “Major” courses are indicated by an asterisk (*) in the academic bulletin, on the cohort calendar, or on the student’s evaluation. The grade point average for major courses does not appear on the transcript and is calculated individually for each student. Students should monitor these grades carefully as they take required major courses. If a student has questions regarding their “major” GPA, they should contact their DCP advisor.
