Christensen to Retire as VPAA Schumacher Appointed Tiffin University has announced the appointment of Dr. Lillian (Lil) Schumacher as Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), effective May 5, 2014. She will replace Dr. Charles Christensen who has served as VPAA Dr. Charles since 2007. The book is an adaptation of his doctoral dissertation and is the result of five years of research and writing. Christensen earned his Ph.D. in History/ Foreign Affairs from The Ohio State University, his Master of Arts in Government/Area Studies from Notre Dame University, and Bachelor of Arts in History/Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University.

He was instrumental in the development of our online programs and was very effective during his service as Dean of the School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences. As Vice President for Academic Affairs, he has provided outstanding leadership that has resulted in significant increases in the number and the quality of our academic programs."
She earned an Ed.D., a Master of Organizational Development, and an MA from Bowling Green State University, after earning a BS from Allegheny College. According to President Marion, "Dr. Schumacher has shown great leadership as Dean of our School of Business and now as Assistant Vice President for Main Campus Academics. I am confident that she will continue the positive momentum that our academic programs have experienced in recent years."
