“The Money in Uncle George’s Suitcase,” a comedy by Pat Cook Dragon’s Den Players will present The Money in Uncle George’s Suitcase on November 1, 2 & 3. The curtains will rise at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 1 & 2, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday November 3. Performances will take place in TU’s Osceola Theatre located inside the Gillmor Student Center.

Tickets ($4.00 each) will be available at the door, and the play is open to the public. Story of the Play When Uncle George invites his whole family up for a weekend of fun at his rustic cabin, he actually wants them together so he can read his will. But between the bequeathing and his rambling stories, George drops the bomb that somewhere on the property is a suitcase holding four hundred and eighty thousand dollars. But George’s gift is much more important than mere money, even though the relatives don’t see it that way—at first. The Director’s View “This domestic farce characterizes the lengths to which family members will go in order to end up with the largest slice of the pie,” says Dr. Mary Grennen, Associate Professor of English and Director of Theatre Arts. “In each of the family members, we witness an about face in character when the news of a hidden bundle of cash on Uncle George's dilapidated property is revealed. The exact location of the money is anybody's guess, and the tension builds as all engage in a comical and devious treasure hunt.” The Cast George Plunkett played by Graham Altizer, Mitch Bryant played by Justin Grimes, Joanne Bryant played by Paige Hanson, Chelsey Bryant played by Julie Banks, Margaret Blankenship played by Jamie Reed, Mamie Jo Durant played by Nicole Beard, Andrew Shumway played by Tyler Bell and Gloria Shumway played by Cari Lyczek-Roser. More information about “The Money in Uncle George’s Suitcase,” and upcoming performances by the Dragon’s Den Players is available by contacting Dr. Grennen at Tiffin University at 419.448.3376, email: grennenmv@tiffin.edu .

TU to Observe Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11 Free and Open to the public, 1 p.m. Tiffin University will host a Veteran’s Day ceremony on Veteran’s Day (Monday, November 11) at 1 p.m. in Chisholm Auditorium (located inside of Franks Hall). US Army Capt. Jenna Grassbaugh, a third-year law student at OSU’s Moritz College of Law, will speak about her experience and the current project which she has founded, The Grassbaugh Veteran’s Project. Their story began on her first day at the Johns Hopkins University, the day Jenna Parkinson, a freshman, met Jonathan Grassbaugh, an intimidating senior and the battalion commander in the ROTC program she joined. It ended nearly six years later on a spring day at Fort Bragg, N.C., when Parkinson - now Jenna Grassbaugh - learned that just 10 months after getting married, she is now a widow. The project helps veterans who may find themselves in need of legal assistance in the areas of housing and consumer issues. Housing matters that the Project may handle include landlord-tenant issues, evictions and foreclosure. Consumer issues that the Project may handle include creditor/debtor and credit agency disputes, as well as assisting in cases involving relief from default judgment. Assistance will be provided to veterans at no cost and by volunteer lawyers and Moritz students selected and trained to work with Veterans on these issues. Grassbaugh, a member of the Class of 2014, donated the seed money to start the project, using $250,000.00 of serviceman’s insurance funds she received following the death of her husband, Capt. Jonathan D. Grassbaugh, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Zaganiyah, Iraq on April 7, 2007. Capt. Grassbaugh hopes others will match her gift, enabling 2,000 hours of free legal services to be provided annually. The project has received widespread support from the faculty at The Moritz College of Law and the Columbus legal community. , but significant funding needs remain. “I wanted to find a project that would have some sort of long-lasting legacy – something that Jon would truly approve of and be worthy of that money,” Grassbaugh said. “It didn’t seem right to buy something with it. I wanted to do something worthwhile.” “Capt. Grassbaugh’s dedication to this project is what Veteran’s Day is all about – recognizing and serving those who serve their country. My hope is that the event will bring greater awareness and fundraising to this very important project,” said Prof. Jaimie Orr, Dean of the School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences, an OSU Law Graduate, and military retiree. The ceremony will be followed by refreshments in the atrium of Franks Hall. For more information about the event contact Carol McDannell, cmcdanne@tiffin.edu, ext. 3441. SSC News The Student Success Center is getting all dressed up for Halloween this week. With the semester well into its second half it may be time to put your foot on the pedal with your classes. One way to do this is to get some supplemental help from the Student Success Center programs. This Sunday, November 3rd, there will be some very informative workshops that include APA and MLA citing, along with a workshop on sentence fluency. Many students seem to struggle with the idea behind citing and the correct way to do it. These workshops should help alleviate the confusion you have with these processes. MLA Workshop: 5:00-6:00 pm (Franks 122) APA Workshop: 6:00-7:00 pm (Franks 122) Sentence Fluency Workshop: 7:00-8:00 pm (Franks 122) There are PAL/PASS/Power Hour seminars that are taking place all over campus. Whether you need support in your math or accounting class, or you just need to discuss the ideas behind the themes of a novel you read in your English class, these seminars can help you get over that mental block that seems to be holding you back. Finally, the SSC has tutors in nearly every subject. If you want to set up an appointment you can simply stop by and make an appointment, call the SSC at ex-

What’s L.O.V.E. Got to do With It?

THE BEST WINGS IN TIFFIN The Tiffin University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted their annual “Best Wings in Tiffin” competition. The local businesses that donated wings were Viaduct Bar and Grill, Shell Shuckers Restaurant, Pioneer Mill, and Marco’s Pizza.
