Community Invited

Tiffin University is offering students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community the opportunity to visit Greece and Turkey, May 16-27, 2015. Dr. Johnathan Appel, Professor of Psychology and Criminal Justice, will be leading the trip through the two locations.

ItalianAmerican Neighborhood Memorial Dedication

“I wanted to develop an educational trip that was rich in history, culture, and beauty,” said Dr. Appel. “Greece is steeped in myths and gods with temples honoring bygone civilizations. Turkey is a unique crossroads between Europe and Asia – truly a land where east meets west.” The trip is twelve days of sites that date as far back as 515 B.C. It begins with a sightseeing tour of Istanbul. Participants will also visit Hagia Sofia, Church of Divine Wisdom, Canakkale, Pergamon, and Kusadasi while in Turkey. From Kusadasi, Turkey, a two-day cruise will take those who sign-up through Patmos, Crete, Santorini, and then on to Athens. Additional excursions include a cruise through the Bosphorus Strait, visit Gallipoli, see Cape Sounion at sunset, and venture to Delphi.
