Visual style/ structure Visual style- Film Noir uses light a lot to produce effect, for example shadows for dramatic Effect and create a different Mood or atmosphere. Film Noir is also renound for using Dutch Angles, low angle shots and wide angle shots and Lots of distorted shots to create a sense of confusion and mystery or potential danger. Film Noir also uses a lot of shots where character's faces are half covered in light and the Other half in darkness. There's also a big use of props such as weapons such as guns, chainsaws and other weapons Also there is usually a lot of religious props and themes common in Horror Movies, such as bibles Crucifics etc, a common theme of Horror is to show the corruption of Religion some show satanic Themes as links to death in Horror. . There also can be themes of the supernatural where the film may be based on Ghosts, witches and zombies. LIGHTINGLighting is also used in Horror Movies, a lot of shadows are used to create the feeling of tension And frighten the viewer. It can also be used to determine the personality of a character and Portray them has an evil character as if their face is covered with darkness they will look more Sinister and a potential threat to the victim. Horror films also use sound to create effect for example exaggarated diegetic sound will allow Tension to be created.

Characters- The main Protagonist is usually a Man, who usually is on a mission to do Something. In lots of Action Adventure Films there is a female character who often Gets saved by the protagonist and there are usually other male antagonists who are Mainly foreign for example in James Bond movies. Common Events- Flash backs, Fights, mass destructions/ explosions, chases, stunts And often a motive for the main protagonist to complete and a obstacle he has to Overcome. There is also usually a build up of chase sequences and problems throughout The film to increase Tension.
