‘Miracle on 34th Street’ Thursday
Nov. 29-Dec. 2, Thur-Sat, 8 p.m.; Sun, 3 p.m., $10 - $17
Presented by Newnan Theatre Company, this classic story revolves around Kris Kringle, an old man in a retirement home who works as Santa for Macy’s. Kris unleashes waves of good will with Macy’s customers and the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for.
Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy’s vocational counselor, who plots to have Kris shanghaied to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing. At stake is a little girl’s belief in Santa. In a dramatic decision, the court confirms Kris as the true Santa, allowing Susan and countless other children to experience the joy of childhood fantasy. Tickets range from $10 to $17. For more information, call 770-683-6282 or visit www.newnantheatre. org .

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
