ccupants of an Ormiston house have escaped a house fire unhurt. Firecomm, the NZ FireService communications unit, told the Times the fire was at a two-storey home at 394 Ormiston Road on

ix thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of jewellery after breaking in to Michael Hill at Botany Town Centre early Monday morning. The store was cordoned off and a security guard was stationed in front of the store on Monday before the broken window was boarded up. Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Bright said three vehicles were used in the burglary, which happened around 2am. Botany Town Centre Manager, Bronwyn

Anchor said the thieves were able access the store with vehicles by driving through a strengthened gate. She declined to say how often burglaries occurred at the Centre but said generally between two and seven security guards are on site at one time. The vehicles have all been located by police.
