Two crashes, one dead – witnesses sought P
olice are calling for witnesses to two horrific car crashes at the weekend, one of which claimed a life. A person died following a twocar crash in East Tamaki on Saturday night. Police and other emergency services attended a car crash on Te Irirangi Drive, in the northbound lane about 500m north of Accent Drive. One person was trapped and died a short time later despite staff commencing CPR, police said.

Meanwhile on Sunday morning emergency services attended a serious crash in Pakuranga involving two cars. Ti Rakau Drive was blocked in both directions following the incident at the intersection at Edgewater Rd. There were a number of injuries. The Serious Crash Unit is investigating both crashes.
