We offer services to over 2000 people annually from all walks of life through childcare, seniors’ assisted living, and services to brain injury survivors, women and children fleeing domestic violence, young parents, families with children with disabilities, and refugee and immigrant families.
ow much is 145? Is it too much or too little? One hundred forty-five balloons seem like a lot! 145 for a monthly grocery budget - not much at all! In terms of years, 145 is an unimaginable amount for a human, but not that many for a mountain range or European city.

Now think about it in terms of service to a community – the number of lives touched, people helped, challenges overcome. The Cridge Centre for the Family has been serving Greater Victoria for 145 years! That’s a lot of impact in our city! So many changes can happen over 145 years: Fort Victoria, a distant outpost of the Empire, became Greater Victoria with over 383,000 people. Horse -drawn buggies became cars, buses and bikes. But one thing stayed the same: the need for support and care for vulnerable people.
