Experience nothing Your stress will melt away in this unique sensory-free environment. NEW TO FLOATING? loating is a practice where you enter a float tank, also called an isolation tank or sensory deprivation tank — a well-engineered enclosed tub filled with 10 inches of water with 800 pounds of dissolved Epsom salts. An individual lies down in the water and floats effortlessly. The water is heated to the same temperature as your skin. When the water settles and you remain relaxed and still, you no longer feel the water. The tanks are light-proof, sound-proof and have a neutral smell. All forces of gravity on the musculoskeletal system and nervous system are eliminated from the extreme positive buoyancy. Imagine a space where you don’t feel, see or hear anything. The tank’s unique environment is designed to allow minimal sensory input to enter your nervous system. This environment has a plethora of benefits and applications for health, personal development, spirituality and well-being. Floats can be customized for light, sound and even water temperature. Following a session, floaters are encouraged to use the lounge which includes a local wood feature and has art supplies, yoga mats, a variety of teas and projector video system.

Floating time is regularly 90-minutes. BENEFITS FOR YOUR BODY & MIND Whether you’re using floatation therapy as a tool for meditation, creativity or rest and recovery, there are a wide-range of benefits that are difficult to find anywhere else. Community members use the float therapy for chronic pain management, insomnia, relaxation and meditation. A pioneering float company in the world, and the first in Vancouver, Float House helped set the standard for floating in Canada and beyond with the original Gastown location in 2013. Now with six locations in Canada, including one in the West Shore, Float House has hosted over 100,000 floats. Breathe deep and relax — welcome home! Afterwards, enjoy the post-float glow in the lounge with complimentary tea and other amenities. floathousevictoria.com/westshore/

Buckerfield's celebrates 100 Years rnest Buckerfield started his company 100 years ago selling feed and flour, as well as some farm equipment and supplies to cattle and hog farmers in the Lower Mainland. A 1923 Buckerfield’s advertisement listed four branches, including Sidney on Vancouver Island, as well as a half-dozen agents handling company products. The many poultry farms in Burnaby and south Vancouver Island became the main clientele. In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Buckerfield's expanded across the Lower Mainland into the Fraser Valley, taking over many small firms. By 1929, Buckerfield's boasted 21 retail branches — the largest feed company in the Province. By 1950, Buckerfield's, with branches in 24

In almost every town in the southern part of the province, the prominent stylized“B”or the Buckerfield's name, could be found on buildings and billboards. In 1952, Ernest Buckerfield fell ill and the company was sold to Pioneer Grain of Winnipeg who maintained ownership until 2005, when five local shareholders purchased the six remaining stores. The Courtenay location was closed, but new locations were added in Salmon Arm, Abbotsford, West Kelowna, and in 2018 — Langford. The new Langford Location, which opened April 2018, is Buckerfields’flagship

Buckerfields continue to sell livestock feed, but have expanded their offering of pet food and supplies, adding into the mix: hand tools, seed, fertilizer, nursery products, bee supplies, everything for your four-legged friends and yard and garden. You really must visit to appreciate all they have to offer. Although the facility enjoys all the amenities of a modern retail location, the interior displays many images of their history, and they continue to offer the level of service and expertise that would make Ernest
