Autumn is a busy time in the WestShore as activity ramps up after summer holidays. he Victoria Grizzlies have already started their season with a number of away games.You can take in their first home game against Powell River on Sept. 28, starting at 7 p.m. at The Q Centre Arena. If you are taking your family to the game, you’ll want to stop by the Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground adjacent to Westhills Stadium. Built to honour West Shore RCMP Constable Sarah Beckett who was killed in the line of duty in 2016, the playground was opened in August this year. It was constructed to appeal to multiple ages, with equipment designed for two to five year-olds, as well as for five to 12 year-olds. Don’t miss the brick path, paved in part by bricks purchased by community members to support the playground.
