Teachers’ Notes Cut And Paste Maths Activities - Book 3 is the third and final book in the series. This book has been created for teachers of Year 2, and can be used in conjunction with a class mathematics program. Each activity has been designed to complement the explicit teaching of a particular skill/concept and can be used in the following ways:
This is a Ready-Ed Publications' book preview. • • • • • • • •
as part of a class maths centre rotation; completed by the whole class, in small groups or individually; to complement a regular mathematics program for independent workers; given to early finishers; given as additional support to older students; given as revision or assessment; used as part of the class homework program; used for home schooling or individual tutoring.
The cut and paste aspect of the book not only offers an alternative to written worksheets, but also encourages children to become more dextrous with scissors. Each activity requires students to follow a set of instructions and, most importantly, be organised with their work. After students have completed the required cutting out of each activity, there can be lots of pieces of paper to sort, match, and arrange, etc. If pieces are lost they can always be written or drawn in. Each book in this series covers a range of skills and concepts taught in grade levels. However, teachers can use all three books together to provide activities for students to work on the same skill/concept, across varying levels, within the same classroom. Hundreds, Tens And Ones
