Richardson Agaat Zeer speciale Agaat in rode en gele kleur die opvalt door zijn sprankelende kleuren. De Agaat is uniek in de staat Oregon in de plaats Richardson gevonden. De gele en rode kleur worden los van elkaar gevonden in 2 verschillende mijnen. Agaat is een doorzichtige, maar soms ook opake variëteit van kwarts en een subvariëteit van chalcedoon. De chemische structuur van agaat is identiek aan jaspis, vuursteen, hoornkies en wordt vaak samen met opaal gevonden. De kleurrijke, gestreepte specimens worden gebruikt als halfedelsteen. De naam agaat komt van het Griekse Ἀχάτης, Achatès, de naam van de huidige rivier de Dirillo in het zuiden van Sicilië, waar agaten en andere chalcedonen gevonden werden. Van oudsher werd agaat gedragen als geluksteen of ter genezing. Richardson Agate Very special agate in red and yellow color that stands out for its sparkling colors. The Agate is uniquely found in the state of Oregon in the city of Richardson. The yellow and red color are separately found in two different mines. Agate is a translucent, sometimes opaque variety of quartz and a sub-variety of chalcedony. The chemical structure of agate is identical to jaspis, flint, hear dial and is often found together with opal. The colorful, striped specimens are used as gemstone. The name agate comes from the Greek Ἀχάτης, Achates, the name of the current river Dirillo in the south of Sicily, where agates and other chalcedonies found. Traditionally agate was worn as a lucky stone, or to cure.
