What is an e-ambassador? An e-ambassador is a student who is part technician part advisor and part trainer. They will help give students a bigger say in how their course is delivered. As an e-Ambassador, what might I be involved in?

What are the e- Ambassador commitments?
Attend 1 meeting per month Record thoughts and observations on the group Facebook page Commit approximately 2 hours per week Attend e-Ambassador conference - date to be confirmed Be willing to take on additional responsibility
What are the benefits to becoming an e- Ambassador?
Sharpen your own ICT skills to give you the edge when applying for university or work Develop team working and leadership skills Help you to create resources that will be beneficial to your learning and your course Create an online record of your participation. This will then be turned into a printed ‘Blurb’ Book that can be presented at job or university interviews

Getting started - developing your first project Choose something from the list below that you feel comfortable doing. These are only guidelines. The most important thing is that you feel inspired. Bring your results to the first project meeting. Create a video hand out
Find an online video that helps explain a topic covered on your course. Take a screen shot of the video and copy the URL and put them both into a Word document. Now add a summary explaining what the video covers. To make this simple to access from a smart phone, create a QR code from the videos URL. To see an example go to http://goo.gl/FtDW3. Record a classroom demonstration
Take step by step photos of a classroom/workshop/salon demonstration. Put these images into a Word document. Add descriptions to the images. Create a cover for your document with an image and title.
Turning a Take a PowerPoint from your Moodle course page and turn it into a Prezi. Add PowerPoint into any additional images, videos text and web links that you think makes the subject a Prezi easier to understand. For tutorials on how to create a Prezi go to www.prezi.com. Pick a topic from your course and collect material about that subject. You might start by getting resources from your Moodle course. Look for additional materials such as diagrams, illustrations and links to videos. Add all these to a Word document. Organising web links
Create a list of important course related web links, refer to your Moodle course page as a starting point. Add any additional ones you or your peers find useful. When you have your list create a bookmarking resource that you can share with others. There are various alternative tools available but have a look at www.only2clicks.com. Word clouds
Word Clouds are a great way to pick out key words from a text document or website. Frequently occurring words are displayed larger than less frequent occurring ones. Have you set up your smart phone to receive email? Do you know how to receive college emails on your smart phone? There are plenty of different help files online but if you want to be able to do this but don’t know how then please let your tutor know
