Brandon L. Simpkins was born to Corine and Leslie Simpkins in North Augusta, South Carolina on December 26, 1984. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy on May 19, 2008. Following his graduation from Navy Boot Camp July 23, 2008, he entered Master-at-Arms training at Naval Technical Training Center, Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Master-at-Arms School in September 26, 2008 and reported to his first duty station overseas at Naval Support Activity, Bahrain. After serving in Bahrain for one year, he reported for duty at the Center for Security Forces in Gulf Port, Mississippi for further specialized training. He then transferred to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 4 in Portsmouth, Virginia

and was awarded the Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist insignia. On January 25 2010, he transferred to Coastal Riverine Squadron 4 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. On December 21, 2012 he detached and reported to his last assignment, Security Detachment Great Lakes, Illinois. Simpkins was selected as Naval Station Great Lakes fiscal year 2015, 1st Quarter Bluejacket of the Quarter. Brandon is survived by his two sons, Ricardo and Jacob, and his mother Corine Simpkins and father Leslie Simpkins. He will always be remembered as an honorable Sailor, loving father, and son.
