Opening up yet another fragment of the frontier of beauty. -Arbert Einstein
I am a Product Designer + an Engineer I’ve studied engineering for more than 6 years; I’ve explored the front-end science of photonics and materials. And now here I am. I want to bring new technology and products into human life, with elegancy.

Sommelier a wine tasting ATM
AUG 2015 Personal Project
It starts from a point people have no idea what kind of wine they like.
When picking a wine, it’s always a guess. According to an report from Stark Insider, 38% of the wines were sold through wholesales/supermarkets in 2014, which is the top distrubution channel. This means most people buy their first wine in pure guess.
22% Wine Club 38% Wholesale 31% Taste Room
Targeting Group People who buy wine at the supermarkets
9% Others
The information on the menu or the price tags doesn’t help for it carries mostly jargons and unfamiliar flavor descriptions.
INTERVIEWS Case 1 - male ~30, shoped with wife
Case 3 - male ~50, shopped with family
“The tag description is what I rely a lot but it would be better if I can taste the wine.”
“The origin, the vintage and the taste are my concern of buying wines.”
“Comments or recommendations on the web are important reference for me.”
“The tag description has very little help to me.”
“My dream tool to choose a wine would be a sign that tells me which wine sells the best or best recommended by the other customers.”
“I also want a magic straw that I can sneak a sip and no one will notice.”
Wine Tasting Leads to a Confident Decision Case 2 - female ~27, shopped with boyfriend
Case 4 - male ~55, shopped with friends
“I prefer wines that not too dry and not too sweet.”
“The only factor that I concern is price. Besides of that, I do not believe the tag description and wine label information.”
“It hinders to choose a wine without testing service since we still have to drink the whole bottle after we buy it and find that it’s not our favor.” “My dream tool to choose a wine would be a magic straw that I can have a sip of wines.”
“I pretty trust this wholesale’s chooses, so I basically buy .all the wines that within my budget.”
“I don’t like the wine business model today, the wine seller should’ve really provide the test service.”
