The Pit Stop–Teen Center
Looking for something to do, a place to hang out or meet new people? Drop in at the Bettenhausen Recreation Center’s “Pit Stop” Teen Center and see everything we have to offer! The Pit Stop is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 4:00-9:00 p.m. The drop-in center is open to teens in grades 6 through 12. Play pool, air hockey, foosball, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii and much more. Check out our exer-gaming area blending fitness and fun in one! Watch for contests, special activity nights and more throughout the year, all included with your Rec Center membership or daily pass. There is so much to do—come in today! Pit Stop Rentals
The Pit Stop is available to rent! Looking for a place to hang out with your friends, throw a birthday party or just relax and have fun? The Pit Stop is the perfect venue! Rentals are available on Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. Rentals are 2 hours in length. An adult 21 years and older must be present throughout the rental. Equipment includes ping-pong, billiards, Wii, Play Station 4, Xbox One, climbing wall, light wall, foosball and more! Pit Stop supervisors are on hand to assist with equipment. A maximum of 25 people per rental allowed in the Pit Stop. Pit Stop rentals are for participants 10 years and older. For information and to book a rental,
you must contact Bailey O'Connell at (708) 342-4205. Rentals must be made a minimum of 3

Lights On Afterschool Pit Stop Open House
Join the Tinley Park-Park District and After School Alliance as we celebrate the Lights on Afterschool national day for after school programming. Stop by the Pit Stop for a tour, to play games, enjoy special Lights On activities and more. This is a great time to see all we have to offer. The Pit Stop is open to kids in 6th-12th grade. Teen Transformation: Life Coaching for Teens Lab
Today's teenagers have so many dreams, but so many distractions too. This lab helps them manage those distractions and get on track to their finish line, whatever that means personally to them. Teens quickly learn that success is never a straight line, but instead very crooked and that's ok! Whether a teen is struggling or just wants to better prepare for life, this lab is for them! Lessons in communication hacks, reputation repair, college prep secrets, warding off worries, perfectionism, friend drama, motivation, bully management and goal setting are all revealed. Little pivots can lead to huge changes. The first 60-minutes is for teens only and the final 30 minutes is open for parents to join in and ask questions/comment. Treats served. Fall Food Flights

Watercolors

Toothpicks and Tacos

Self Defense in the Real World
Learn to protect yourself from a physical attack with knowledge and preparation. This class empowers you with critical skills to help keep you safe. We learn a variety of techniques to defend yourself and establish a proper mindset to resist attacks. Illinois Hunter Safety Class
The class covers the hunting basics: hunter responsibility, wildlife conservation and identification, firearms and ammunition, field safety, wildlife management, first aid, archery, muzzle loading and state regulations. Persons completing the instruction and successfully completing the final examination receive a State of Illinois Certificate of Competency and a graduate patch. You must attend both days. Your instructor, a professional voice actor, takes notes as you read a real script, in this one-on-one video chat setting and offer some coaching to improve your delivery. Bridge
Bridge is a classic American card game that can be difficult to understand! Through our bridge classes you become fluent in this game and enjoy playing with friends and family. Level 1 class is great for new players and those needing a better understanding of the Standard American bidding used in the game. The Level 2 class is a continuation of the beginner class and we go over popular conventions as well as play of the hand and opening leads. Intro to Cribbage
Learn the popular card game of cribbage, traditionally played by two players, but commonly played with three or four. It involves playing and grouping cards in combinations to gain points. Holiday Container Gardens Workshop
Nothing says welcome to your home better than a container of mixed greens by the front door, porch or balcony. Put together your own creation using a mix of premium greens and ornaments. Everything you need to create the perfect holiday container is provided. All participants need to bring a pair of pruning shears to class so they can cut the greens to size. Photo I
This beginner class starts with the basics to give you a good foundation. Learn about your camera modes, your aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, methods of focus and ISO and taking a close-up flower photo, then taking pictures in Manual Mode. This class gives you a basic understanding of your camera and gear so you can use them to their fullest potential. Night Photography
Join me to learn how to shoot amazing night photos by controlling exposure and light. We discuss camera settings, how and when to use the settings. We discuss the types of camera gear for night photos and using a shutter release remote to shoot long exposures. Learn to Use Your Internal or External Flash
The key to great picture taking lies in the application of light. In this illuminating new class you learn to work with ambient light as well as the proper use of external flash. Learn about differentiating between manual and automatic modes when using flash, setting the proper flash output and blending flash and natural light to eliminate shadows. We allow vendors to showcase their handmade items only. If you would like to be an exhibitor you can purchase spaces online or in-person. Spaces are only for those selling handmade items, we do not allow any vendor or resale items. Spaces for the fair are only available for purchase in

person at the Bettenhausen Recreation Center. Space sizes are roughly 8’x6’ and crafters can rent up to two spaces. A limited number of tables are available for rent. Additional requirements are printed on receipt.

Winter Wonderland Frosty Fest
The gym is transformed into a winter wonderland complete with a DJ spinning holiday tunes, Santa, Rudolph and other friends to dance and take photos with!
