The Roger Rimmer & Kentonwood Stables Reduction Sale

In 2009 Roger Rimmer decided to hold a retirement sale at his Formby Stables after 25 years of supplying top quality hunters to his many customers who stretch the length and breadth of the British Isles. The sale went well and every horse found a new home. However Roger very quickly discovered that he wasn’t a man who could take retirement easily, and neither could he bear the sight of seeing his famous Kentonwood Stables lying empty and quiet So a restocking programme took place and very shortly his two yards were full again with the archetypal Irish hunter that Roger has become synonymous with. His horses have hunted with the best packs of hounds and cross the stiffest of countries. From the fly fences of Leicestershire to the bottomless going and big hedge countries of Dorset, you won’t have to travel far to find a delighted owner or someone who’s hired a Kentonwood Stable graduate. Roger himself hunts in one of the most demanding and exciting countries that still exist, with The Wynnstay Hounds, as well as the Cheshire packs closer to his home. He prides himself on producing proper sorts, which have bone, conformation, a good head and eye, coupled with the stamina and a jumping ability that is required by those that love hunting on a proper horse. He supplies horses to Masters, to hunt staff and to every member of the field whatever their needs. With these factors in mind it doesn’t take much imagination to realise what a very special day this sale will represent. It is emphasised that this is very much a reduction sale and not a retirement sale - as already mentioned Roger doesn’t do retirement! However as he has two yards of horses and now only the manpower resources to operate one, it has meant 30 of his quality hunters will be presented for sale. Though it is hardly needed, but to give extra confidence to buyers, Roger is happy to throw his stables doors open and welcome any prospective purchasers to his Kentonwood Stables in the 10 day period leading up to sale day. These trial and viewing visits will be by appointment only and will most definitely not, be opportunities at which to purchase any of the lots before their day of sale. If you wish to book an appointment to see the consignment before sale day, then please ring Anna on 07884 310 013. As opposed to the other entries in this sale The Kentonwood Stable sale horses will be sold under their own special conditions of sale which are outlined overleaf of this catalogue. These special conditions of sale will include that these horses will all have been pre-vetted by The Auctioneers own appointed panel of veterinary surgeons and will be sold with a pre-sale veterinary certificate. This independent veterinary examination will take place on Monday 9th September after the horse’s arrival at the showground stables. As auctioneers, Brightwells are extremely proud to have been honoured with Roger Rimmer’s instruction to offer his splendid collection of horses, and as such we have no hesitation in recommending their purchase to prospective buyers in the highest possible fashion. Brightwells Auctioneers.
