2014 NATIONAL PERFORMANCE COMPETITION We thank all Members who took part in this Competition in 2013. We would like to encourage more Members to take part. This is a points Competition open to all registered Welsh Ponies and Cobs. All disciplines are eligible, and is open to all Members of the WPCS (£12 entry fee) and non members (£18 entry fee). We are very fortunate to have the continued sponsorship from Welsh Pony & Cob Society, Brightwells Auctioneers and Floreat Stud. For 2014 we have the very generous support of Llanarth Stud (Small Part-Bred), Langarth Stud (Large Part-Bred) and Cwmllanwenarth Stud (Driving Sections). Brightwells will give £100 prize money for 1st, 2 nd & 3 rd in the each of the 4 pure welsh sections. They will also give £100 to the highest placed Pony/Cob purchased through Brightwells sales. Llanarth Stud will give £100 prize money to the 1 st, 2nd & 3 rd in the Small PartBreds. Langarth Stud will give £100 prize money to the 1 st, 2 nd & 3rd in the Large PartBreds. Cwmllanwenarth Stud have very kindly given £150 towards the Driving section, which covers every aspect of this discipline. The Welsh Pony & Cob Society will give up to 4 bursaries of £100 each to entrants 14 years & under (provided owner is a member of WPCS). Winners wishing to hold their trophies will need to give a deposit and sign a declaration that the trophy will be returned cleaned by 31 October 2014 and will be covered by insurance. WELSH PONY AND COB SOCIETY PERFORMANCE AWARDS 2014 SPONSORED BY BRIGHTWELLS AUCTIONEERS, WELSH PONY & COB SOCIETY, LLANARTH STUD, LANGARTH STUD, CWMLLANWENARTH STUD AND FLOREAT STUD RULES The objective of the Performance Awards Scheme is to encourage and reward the performance capabilities of Welsh Ponies, Cobs and Part-Breds The importance of versatility is recognised and it is hoped that the wide range of events/classes included will encourage Pony/Cob owners to take part
1. The competition is open to Stallions, Mares and Geldings of four years and over. Reduced entry fee for WPCS members. Membership & entry forms can be downloaded from www.wpcs.uk.com 2. All Ponies/Cobs must be registered in the Welsh Stud Book or the Part-Bred Register. Registration Numbers and breeding must be given on each entry form. 3. The Competition will run from Saturday 22 February to Sunday 28 September 2014 4. Entry Forms are available from Mrs Weller at the address below. Completed Entry Forms, together with photocopy of the Passport, the correct Entry Fee (by cheque, postal order, cash) per Pony/Cob (one Entry Form and Fee per animal) must be sent to Mrs Weller. ENTRY FEES – PAID UP MEMBERS OF WPCS: £12.00 Non Members: £18.00. On receipt of Entry Forms, Results Cards will be sent to competitors. (Entries can be refused without any reason being given) 5. Results Cards must be returned to Mrs Weller, postmarked not later than Monday 13 October 2014. No late entries will be accepted. Results received with later postmark than this will not be accepted. 6. The identification of each class is most important. A simple three-letter code has been added to each type of event description. This code must be entered on the Results Card. 7. Points which cannot be verified will be disallowed. A competitor will be disqualified if rules are not adhered to. Appeals will not be allowed. 8. Competitors will be informed of the points awarded by Monday 27 October 2014, together with an individual prize card with a record of the points gained. Any queries must be submitted in writing to Mrs Weller by Monday 10 November 2014. These queries will be investigated and corrected if this is deemed necessary. The Organisers decision is final and the results will be posted by Monday 17 November 2014. If on receipt of the full list of results competitors have any queries they must contact Mrs. Weller immediately, as these full results are published in the WPCS Journal. All competitors will receive a rosette. 9. Any Pony/Cob sold during the Competition Year may have points gained before sale transferred to the new owner on application to Mrs Weller. 10. Please keep photocopies of your cards before posting them to ‘insure’ against loss in the post. An SAE may be sent for acknowledgment of receipt of cards. 12. Only 20 shows are allowed and 3 classes per day. If more shows are attended please cross out shows that are NOT to be counted. Disciplinary action may be taken by the Society/Organisers against entrants for non compliance with the spirit of the Competition or content of the rules. 13. For all competitions, name of Secretary with telephone number must be provided for checking. If this is not supplied points will not count. 14. In Horse Driving Trials, affiliated points may only be claimed at National Events or National Novice Qualifying classes. 15.
