Procedure of Selection 1. Horses will be viewed on a hard surface for conformation and movement. 2. Horses will jump approximately six coloured fences including a double and will follow on to jump cross country fences, this will be continuous and will include water. • •

Video footage and photographs will be taken while selecting, for use in the catalogue and on the website. Ireland Only – Due to the late date, Brightwells Official Veterinary Surgeons will X-Ray horses selected for the sale on the day of selection. This will eliminate X-Rays having to be sent to our Veterinary Surgeons for Grading and acceptance into the sale.

Horses will be evaluated for type, conformation, movement, rideability, temperament, jumping technique and attitude. NB. The greenness of a horse will be taken into consideration as we are looking for star quality. Video footage and photographs will also be taken of the horses selected on the Selection Day for the catalogue and website. Veterinary Procedures All horses selected for the sale will have to undergo x-ray assessments which will then be forwarded to Brightwells Veterinary Panel to be evaluated and Graded for the purpose of being accepted into the auction. Once accepted, all horses will be pre-sale vetted on a Brightwells Veterinary Certificate within 20 days of the sale by the vendors own veterinary surgeon. All horses will then be vetted while stabled at Blenheim by Brightwells Panel of Veterinary Surgeons. The vets will be available to discuss their findings and x-rays with potential clients on the day prior and the day of the sale. X-rays are also available to be emailed to potential clients veterinary surgeons.

Important – FEI Vaccinations All horses accepted for the sale must be vaccinated in accordance with FEI Rules and their passports will be checked on arrival by FEI Veterinary Surgeons. Horses will be withdrawn if their vaccinations are incorrect. Programme of Events. Auction Horses will be stabled in a self contained area next to the Horses competing at Blenheim Horse Trials. Facilities are available to show and trial the auction horses in the dressage and jumping arenas situated next to the stables.
