EDITOR'S LETTER
Dear Readers
Inside
Bored of board games? Never I impulsively agreed to adopt a 35 year old VW campervan from friends; a rather hasty decision but a surprisingly one of my best ones (I’ve never been attracted to outdoor sleeping when I have perfectly good bedroom and private toilet at home). To occupy the long nights with no wifi or tv I raided my nearest charity shop for board games; Boggle, Operation, Scrabble to name a few. I quickly remembered the fun we had as a family and the lessons it taught my girls; patience, mental agility and dare I say, honesty. Kate’s article, Play Through Learning (page 18) offers many suggestions of new games so it’s worth a read. Saying that, I’m not averse to technology; it’s a godsend at times. No such thing as a free ride? Yes, there is! I was excited to receive an advert from Uber this month (page 9) whose private car hire app has revolutionised getting from A to B safely, quickly and cheaply. With a busy calendar of events this month (see What’s On pages 52,53) be sure to download the App and make the most of a free ride.

MITCH BENN DON’T BELIEVE A WORD 2 December, 8pm The Berry Theatre, Box Office 023 8065 2333 “I’m a sceptic. But don’t take my word for it. Or indeed anybody’s. For anything....” and this is the basic premise of Mitch’s new critically acclaimed show. It’s a show that will make you laugh a lot and think a bit as well as Mitch debunks myths, exposes nonsense and grapples with the very nature of knowledge itself extolling the virtues of an evidence-based approach to life .... with amusing consequences and of course a few songs along the way. The ‘Now Show’ aside, following on from the success of ‘Mitch Benn Is The 37th Beatle’, a further three specials on music icons, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Elvis have recently been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 - ‘The Freewheelin’ Mitch Benn’, ‘Mitch Benn Is The Fat Pink Duke’

Tony Wright talks to
JAMES TW
James TW is a new singer/songwriter, tipped for big things in 2017. His YouTube videos have received millions of views and his debut single is receiving rave reviews. He caught up with Tony Wright to talk about his surprise first break and his upcoming debut album.
How are things going?
Things are going very well. I’ve just come off a long tour with Shawn Mendes and released my E.P. just before that and the reaction was lovely. So your debut single is ‘When You Love Someone’. You wrote this yourself?
I wrote this with a couple of guys actually, in America. The inspiration for the song itself came from a couple of years ago when I used to teach kids instruments to earn a bit of pocket money. There was this one boy who was eleven years old at the time and I found out that his parents were getting divorced before he knew (he didn’t know it was going to happen). I guess the first thing I thought was ‘how are they going to explain it to him in a way that he can understand and in a positive way’ and I wanted there to be a song that he could listen to that would make him feel better about what was going on.
You’re only eighteen. Your voice sounds a lot older but you’ve been doing this a long time. I love the story about when you were ten, how you ended up playing drums for your dad’s band. Is this true?
It was very true. My dad plays lead guitar in a wedding-mid-life-crisis covers band, which is cool, but when I was ten he bought a drum kit because he saw something on the news that it was good for stress – and work had not been that fun (for him). I really took to it – I really enjoyed playing the drums. Then the band had a gig and the drummer couldn’t make the show – and it was either cancel 8
or let the ten year old play. The gig went so well that I became the drummer of the wedding band for about five years.
And a couple of years later you got your first guitar?
I kind of used my dad’s guitar, he taught me a few chords, and then I used youtube to teach myself guitar and piano. When’s the album out?
I am recording a bunch of different songs in different places. You can only release your first album once, and I really want it to be at the right time – and I’m not sure when that is yet. How did you get on with the exams?
OK. One of the songs on the E.P. Is called 10K Hours and it’s about not wanting to stay at school so I can pursue music and put in all the time I want to. What are the plans for the year ahead?
Obviously I’m piecing together my new album and I’m starting to do my own headline shows, having been supporting for so long – and definitely in the next year, I’d like to release my album. There’s work to be done!
Tony Wright plays the greatest love songs of all time on When The Lights Go Down, every evening on The Breeze from 10pm. www.thebreeze.com

BON APPÉTIT!
By Cecile
I LOVE WINCHESTER. Don’t get me wrong, I hate parking there, it’s a logistical nightmare … but once I manage to park (and stop swearing), then I do love going there for a fabulous shopping experience, a casual stroll along the river, a look around the imposing Cathedral and best of all … for food and drinks! ;-) The Westgate
The King Alfred
Which brings me to the BEST news EVER. The quaint King Alfred pub and rooms at 11 Saxon Road is being fully refurbished and will re-open by the end of October! I simply cannot wait to see the changes that Jayne from the Little Pub Group has in store for her new venue. She has turned many Winchester pubs around, including the now fabulous Green Man at 53 Southgate Street, the fun Mucky Duck at 84 High Street, the cute St James Tavern at 3 Romsey Road and the incredible Corner House on Grove Road. So expect quirky, vintage and shabby chic furnishings, a cosy atmosphere, mouth-watering menus, a cool beer selection and fab wine list, friendly staff and superb rooms. Oh yes, she sure knows how to provide Winchester with amazing watering holes! 10
Talking about new management, the Westgate pub with rooms at 2 Romsey Road has also been refurbished, but this time by the City Pub Company, which also owns trendy Alfie’s at 157 High Street. I was amazed at the transformation. Jaw-droppingly nice. It is now much bigger than it used to be and so beautifully decorated. I love going there for a pint, so say hi to James from me, as he will help you chose a refreshing beer amongst his great selection of real ales – from local microbreweries including Itchen Valley, Flowerpots and Winchester-based Red Cat – to drink alongside their mouth-watering new winter menu. Hold on, there is more … James made me swear to secrecy, but he’s in the middle of outsourcing 15 different styles of whiskies and gins … but sssshhhh, you did not hear it from me, ok?! The Westgate

History
GOLDEN YEARS – MEMORIES OF 50 YEARS AGO La Serenissima wasn’t so serene when its citizens woke up on 4th November 1966 to find the most beautiful city in the world under more than 6 feet of seawater. Even at the northernmost reach of the Adriatic, where the shallow sea is almost tideless, Venetians have always been used to the occasional acqua alta when water laps San Marco’s toes. But on that night 50 years ago, heavy winter rain in the Alps and Appenines filled rivers to overflowing so that the water level of the Adriatic rose, while at the same time a strong northerly wind drove thousands of tons of seawater into Venice’s lagoon and canals. To make the flooding worse, Venice had started sinking. The bedrock below Venice’s lagoon is buried so deeply under sand and silt that to drive 14
piles down to it would be impossible. Only the canal banks themselves are revetted with oak piles. The city’s churches and palazzos stand on zatteroni, or rafts of thick larch planks, with stone blocks piled on top. Even St Mark’s itself and its next-door neighbour, the Doge’s palace, stand on foundations not much more substantial than the floor of your house. For centuries, mountains of masonry have been compacting the silt, slowly pressing the water out of it. More recently the aquifers in the bedrock itself have been tapped and drained, causing subsidence. In the first half of the 20th century the city sank by 23cm; and on that night 50 years ago centuries of chickens came home to roost. Nobody was killed, but the flooding caused $6 million worth of damage to architectural and artistic treasures alone. The loss of stock in shops and restaurants and damage to homes and business premises came to far more. But the world rallied è

round – or at least, the western world did. This was 1966, don’t forget, and Italy wasn’t only the treasure house of the Renaissance; it was also a hothouse of ‘60s style. Alfa Romeos, Vespas, Lambrettas, skinny suits, Sophia Loren, espresso ... the West owed Italy, and in every country support groups sprang up to raise funds and clean paintings. In Britain, the fundraising committee that eventually became Venice In Peril was founded in early 1967 as the Art & Archive Rescue Fund by well-heeled Italophiles such as former ambassador Sir Ashley Clarke, who had also chaired the British Italian Society, and Carla Thorneycroft, the Italian-born wife of senior Conservative politician Sir Peter Thorneycroft. It raised millions, and by 2010 had completed 46 major projects including the restoration of one of Venice’s oldest churches, San Niccolo dei Mendicoli, used as a location in the iconic 1971 thriller Don’t Look Now. Not all ViP’s money has come from the upper crust, though: £2 million of it so far has come
from a crust of an altogether doughier kind. Since 1977 Pizza Express has been making a donation – currently 25p – for every Pizza Veneziana it sells. So much for salvaging Venice’s past. To safeguard its future the Italian government has spent more than €5.5 billion on barrages that can be raised to block the lagoon’s three inlets. These take the form of flattish rectangular tanks, lying on the seabed and hinged at one end. Normally the tanks are full of seawater and lie flat, but whenever high water threatens compressed air is pumped into them and they float upright. When complete they will be able to hold back a surge of 3 metres. Although whether that will be enough in the era of climate change, who knows? Happy 50th birthdays to Jeremy Hunt (1st); David Schwimmer (2nd); Gordon Ramsay (8th); and John Bishop (30th). Cake and botox to you all!

Until recently, landlords could evict tenants without a reason. However, a new law passed last year means it’s now illegal to evict tenants for reporting a problem with the property. Start with when your tenancy began. If it was from 1 October 2015 onwards, you are protected from eviction provided you report the problem using the right procedure. First, write your landlord an email or letter explaining the problem. If they don’t respond within 14 days or respond with an eviction notice, contact the council who will inspect the property. If the Council confirms with the landlord that there is a health and safety problem, any ‘no fault’ eviction notice is invalid and you won’t need to leave the property. The council will also advise the landlord on next steps, which could include being legally required to fix the problem. If your tenancy began before October 2015 it’s not illegal for your landlord to evict you but still unusual. Again, you should start by raising the problem in writing. If your landlord doesn’t offer to repair the damp, or serves you with an eviction notice, contact your local Citizens Advice. Your nearest CAB office is 101 Leigh Road, Eastleigh SO50 9DR Tel: 023 8061 6046. 17
Parenting
LEARNING THROUGH PLAY From science kits to marble runs, toys can be as educational as they are fun. Learning through play sees your child developing key mental, physical and emotional skills, as well as a real appetite for knowledge. Most toys can be educational, whether they’re helping your child to learn maths, or just to improve their hand-to-eye coordination. Some, however, really do stand out from the crowd. If you’re looking for an educational gift this Christmas, here are a few ideas to get you started… A simple football can help your child to develop their coordination, become better at working in a team and learn the importance of perseverance. If your child isn’t particularly sporty, the new 18
Scriball from Mitre (£10) might just tempt them. Each kit contains a football decorated with a picture to be coloured in. There are also felt tips, a mini pump and a display stand. Our seven year old tester had great fun colouring the Scriball in, and then wanted to head straight out to the park to try it out. Marble runs are fantastic for encouraging a child’s creativity, as well as helping to develop their problem solving skills, spatial awareness and hand-to-eye coordination. They’re also a lot of fun. Marble runs start at around £10 for a small kit, but if you fancy splashing out, the Hape Quadrilla Space Run is likely to prove a hit. The 176 pieces allow for plenty of combinations and the glow in the dark stickers add extra excitement. Crafted with birch and rubber wood, the Space Run should last for years, so could well be passed down to your grandchildren. £120 from www.Amazon.co.uk. While children seem to choose their comics based on the free plastic toy, most children’s magazines do include educational activities, from craft ideas to recipes, puzzles and colouring in. If your children have moved on from Sparkle and Thomas the Tank Engine, they might be interested in one of the new range of children’s subscription magazines: è
National Geographic Kids magazine is aimed at the ‘explorers, archaeologists, scientists, artists and astronauts of the future’. Your child could read about endangered animals, lost civilisations, deep sea dives and lots more. A subscription costs from £36 for 12 issues, and can be ordered from www.ngkids.co.uk. Whizz Pop Bang! is a monthly science magazine aimed at 6-11 year olds. It’s packed with fun facts, craft activities and experiments. Each issue costs £3.75, including postal costs. Subscription offers are available, visit: www.whizzpopbang.com. The Week Junior is a current affairs magazine for children aged 8+. It covers news in bite sized chunks, specially written to appeal to children. There are also features on a range of subjects, from geography to technology and film. Subscriptions cost from £22.99 for 15 issues, visit www.theweekjunior.co.uk. Lots of board games have an educational element. However, the ones by Orchard Toys
are undoubtedly amongst the best. They’re designed to help children with a range of skills, from maths to telling the time, identifying healthy food and getting to grips with money. Orchard Toys games are always well-designed, robust and great fun to play for children and parents alike. The bestselling Pop to the Shops sees players move around a board to spend their coins at different shops. For younger children, Dotty Dinosaurs and Monster Bingo focus on helping players to learn colours and shapes. Priced from just £4.50, games are available from toy stores, supermarkets and www.orchardtoys.com.

GIFTS FOR GREENFINGERS It is not that long until Christmas now, and if you’ve any gardening friends it is so easy to get them a present they’ll really enjoy and find useful. Any good local garden centre will have plenty of potential gifts in a wide range of prices, sizes and shapes to suit anybody from the complete novice to the most experienced gardener. Alternatively, take a look on the internet and get some gorgeous gardening gifts delivered right to your door. Houseplants make brilliant presents, so why not choose a couple of really good-looking ones? At this time of year there are plenty, such as the indoor cyclamens and azaleas or a flamboyant poinsettia or a gorgeous Christmas cactus, which look fantastic whilst in flower - but don’t forget that lots of the foliage houseplants look great, too. 24
Make sure that you keep the plants at their best by placing them in a suitable position before you give them away. Outdoor plants are also an ideal choice, but make sure that you know that the plant you are choosing will go to a suitable home. There is no use buying a lime-hating plant such as a Pieris, rhododendron, Camellia or azalea for somebody if they garden on chalk - although a supply of ericaceous compost and a good sized pot could also be a present from someone else if you plan carefully. A lovingly created pot of winter flowering bedding plants, perhaps under-planted with a few small bulbs such as crocus or miniature daffodils, will make a lovely instant garden impact present for anyone. Despite the huge quantities of Christmas paraphernalia in garden centres now, any half decent centre will still have a good range of winter bedding plants and winter interest plants available. è

Anyone with an interest in growing vegetables would enjoy one of the many gardening books on the subject, or perhaps a ‘Grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood’ Gift Voucher Card, which lets them select the vegetables they’d like to grow from the range I offer at www.pippagreenwood.com. Then, in the spring, we send them garden-ready plants accompanied by weekly advice and tips emails from me. Most gardeners love to encourage birds into the garden, so how about a bird box or feeder or maybe even some bird food? Bird feeding equipment and supplies take up plenty of space in garden centres, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. Gardeners love practical things so a good hoe like my favourite, the SpeedHoe, will always be
welcome, or how about some Micromesh-covered or polythene-covered EasyTunnels, perfect for protecting crops throughout the growing season next year? A raised bed kit is a great gift idea, too, allowing people to grow vegetables when their own soil isn’t ideal. Some kits have the option to add crop covers made from fine mesh (to keep pests out) or polythene (to protect from the worst of the weather and provide off-season warmth). So rather than rushing out and buying something that ‘will do’ as a gift, take a moment and see what you can find which will really bring a smile to someone’s face!
By Pippa Greenwood
Visit Pippa’s website www.pippagreenwood.com and book Pippa for a gardening talk or peruse the really useful selection of Pippa’s favourite gardening items, including Nemaslug to control slugs, pop-up crop covers, SpeedHoes, SpeedWeeders, raised bed kits, pull-out EasyTunnels, ‘Grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood’ Gift Voucher cards, signed books and lots more besides.

OPEN PLAN LIVING
Who doesn’t love the idea of living in a light, bright and airy open-plan space? Katherine Sorrell explains how to get the most out of it. To ensure an open-plan room looks good and functions brilliantly, carefully plan how you’ll use the space – for cooking, eating, entertaining, working, relaxing and so on – then divide it into appropriate areas. These zones can be created with changes of level, but generally it’s through use of flooring, colour and pattern, lighting and the positioning of furniture. Kitchens/halls need splash-proof flooring that can be mopped, while sitting areas should feel inviting and comfortable, so use different (but complementary) floorings to create visually distinct zones, or lay one practical flooring throughout. Stone or ceramic tiles, engineered or laminate floorboards, rubber and good quality vinyl are all suitable – simply soften with rugs around your sofas and chairs to create the framework for a separate ‘living’ area.
Dorset Purbeck reclaimed wood extendable trestle table, £499, Modish Living: 01273 499057; www.modishliving.co.uk.
Pale colours emphasise open, airy spaces, while darker shades can help make large areas feel cosy. One option in an open-plan room is to use tones of one colour, going from light at one end to darker at the other. In long, thin spaces, painting the end walls in a deeper shade makes them appear closer, thus improving the proportions, while a neutral scheme throughout can have matching accents of a brighter colour – say, a rug in the living area, glasses on the dining table and kitchen accessories – for a smart and interesting look. Conventional furniture may not work as well as expected in an open-plan space, so search for larger-than-average pieces that look good from all angles, not just the front. Avoid placing the seating around the edges, or spacing it too far apart, and group it so that sofas and chairs are sociable, either facing each other or creating a corner (modular units are good for this). Try to include an island or peninsular unit between the kitchen and the rest of the room. This gives a visual break between the two zones and lets the cook chat with family or guests.
Courchevel Bleached Oak distressed wood-effect tiles, £46 per square metre, The Baked Tile Company: 02920 358 4093; www.bakedtiles.co.uk. 30
Kitchen manufacturers produce products that blend kitchen, dining and living functions, from cabinets that co-ordinate with free-standing storage to media units that incorporate a TV, to help design a space that blends easily from one zone to another. è

One final point: bear in mind that sound carries and if you’re eating dinner, watching TV or catching up on emails you won’t want to be disturbed by the extractor fan or the dishwasher. If possible, put your washing machine somewhere separate and buy super-quiet By Katherine Sorrell appliances.

Get the light right Good lighting makes a big difference in open-plan living, helping to zone the space and provide either strong illumination or soft ambience. Food preparation areas need bright lights, which can be in the bottoms of wall-mounted cabinets or, if you have an island unit, can be a ceiling-mounted track or a row of pendants. To give flexible lighting that can be turned up or down easily in dining and living areas, experts advise installing a range of circuits controlled by separate switches or dimmers, but this can involve disruption and extra expense. Instead, replace main light switches with dimmers and plug in a selection of table or floor lamps.

Short Story
CHRISTMAS IS CRAFTY By Jackie Brewster “We’re doing Christmas differently this year,” Carol announced, carrying in huge shopping bags. “Roger, stop what you’re doing and give me a hand with this tree.” Jonty wagged his tail. He knew all about Christmas, because it happened once every seven years. Roger would set up a tree in the lounge and then climb the creaky loft ladder for the box of decorations. The pair of them would coo over the little snowmen decorations made from cotton wool and toilet roll tubes, the doily angels, and the crepe paper snowflakes that they would stick to the patio doors. Carol would get nostalgic and ask Roger to pour her a sherry and put on a Slade CD. And Jonty would lie under the coffee table, waiting patiently for a mince pie to fall on the floor. “I’ve been to this stall called Christmas is Crafty,” Carol said, unpacking the contents of her bags. “It’s inspired me.” “I like Christmas just the way it is,” Roger said, but judging from the smells coming from Carol’s shopping Jonty wondered whether Christmas had been vastly improved. “Look at all the adorable new decorations I’ve bought,” Carol said. “Everything is handmade.” “All the stuff before was handmade, by the children,” said Roger. 36
“The kids are all grown up now Roger; it’s time to move on,” Carol said, opening a box of dried clementines which had been studded with cloves and tied with sticks of cinnamon. “These things are handmade but better, you know, professional.” Jonty game them an appreciative sniff. “Honestly Jonty, get your nose out and give me some space,” Carol said. “Look at these Roger, good enough to eat?” Jonty’s ears pricked up. Carol showed them a box of gingerbread men delicately decorated with raisin buttons. Then she unravelled a raffia rope threaded with colourful popcorn, and a dozen huge pine cones sprayed with silver and gold. “The theme is Rustic Cottage,” Carol said. “You’ve got to have a theme.” “I thought we already had a theme,” Roger said glumly. “Do stop sulking,” Carol said. “You decorate the tree, while I do a spot of stencilling on the patio doors.” Jonty settled into his place beneath the coffee table. Roger hung the new decorations in silence, while Carol sprayed the glass on the patio doors so that it looked like snow had drifted up the panes. Jonty waited for the sherry and Slade but they never came, in fact Carol went up to bed early, leaving Roger to lock up.
Though Jonty regretted his lack of mince pie, he reminded himself that Christmas was different this year, so he waited in his basket until he heard sounds of snoring from the bedroom above. Then he padded into the lounge, a firm plan already in his mind. First he licked the snow off the patio doors. It tasted pleasantly of soap. Next a wellaimed leap from the back of the sofa brought the fir tree down. He then crunched his way through the gingerbread men and the clementines. They smelled better than they tasted. The raffia strings of popcorn proved interesting; he found there was no stopping once he’d begun, and it was necessary to eat the whole chain right to the end. Then he chased the pine cones across the floor. Finally, tired and queasy, he chewed them all up as well, just for fun. Feeling thankful for Carol, he dozed amid the wreckage of this wonderful new type of Christmas. Then he thanked Roger for kindly leaving the lounge door open; something that Roger had never once, in all Jonty’s days, done before.

WHY DOES YOUR CAT SPRAY?
Neutered cats spray to mark their territory, but also if they are anxious. Spraying inside their home, or excessively outdoors, often means they want to repel other cats, or they feel unsecure within their own territory.
“Your local, friendly and affordable painting & decorating specialist” Call us for your free no-obligation quote
Both male and female cats spray, but non-neutered males have a natural tendency to mark their territory to excess. Your cat might suddenly start spraying if: • Another local cat comes in through their cat flap, or appears at the windows or patio doors • You buy new furniture, as the old furniture would have carried their scent • A new baby arrives, or another pet • You redecorate your home • They are suffering a urinary tract infection. What to do if your cat is spraying in the house Don’t be angry with your cat, as this could make the problem worse. If another cat has been in the house, lock the cat flap for a while to make your pet feel more secure. Provide plenty of quiet, safe places to escape to if there are children in the house. A warm airing cupboard is often a safe bet, or a quiet upstairs room. A medical condition such as cystitis could be causing your cat to spray, so a trip to the vet is worth considering if the problem continues.

Cloudy2Clear Announce Trusted Trader Partnership Consumer champions Which? have now joined the thousands of customers who recognise that Cloudy2Clear Windows really are a business that you can TRUST. The company which specialises in repairing windows which are steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the panes – not the frames has received the coveted ‘Which Trusted Trader’ status after going through a rigorous accreditation process entirely focussed on customer service. Group Managing Director Marcus McGee believes that Which? have endorsed Cloudy2Clear’s long standing company
policy of delivering the highest standards possible at all times. ‘Our service is simple. If your double glazing has misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 5 year guarantee. But it’s not just about saving people money, although that obviously helps. Whilst a number of tradespeople perhaps don’t focus on customer care as much as they should do, we make sure we turn up when we say we will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. Locally Cloudy2Clear service the Hedge End area
and manager Justin Friel agrees that this approach is a major factor in his success. ‘The truth is that it’s not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense. I get a huge amount of business from friends and family of people I’ve done work for, which just goes to show how much a little bit of effort is appreciated as both my customers and, obviously a body as nationally important as Which? now recognise.’ So, if your windows are steamed up, broken or damaged give Justin a call for a free quotation on 0800 61 21 118 and he’ll be

RESIDENTS BACK SOLENT COMBINED AUTHORITY The Isle of Wight Council, Portsmouth City Council and Southampton City Council are negotiating a deal with government to secure extra powers and funding for these areas. More than 2,500 people across the Solent region took part in a public consultation this summer. 71% were in favour of moving power and funding for the economy, transport and jobs from central government to groups of local councils working together. The same proportion supported the idea of the Isle of Wight Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council and the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership working closer together.
allow decisions to be made locally rather than in Westminster, with a focus on driving economic growth, improving infrastructure and transport links and delivering homes in the region. The plans will now go to the full council meetings for the three councils involved, ahead of each cabinet making a decision on submitting a formal bid to government. Subject to the consultation results a final decision on submitting an application to government could be made by the end of October. www.solentdeal.co.uk
The proposed authority would take on responsibility for services currently managed by central government and receive ÂŁ900m of new funding over the next 30 years. This will

You’ve all seen the advertisements for ½ price kitchens, free appliances and all the extra “Bells and Whistles” some companies offer. Well don’t believe everything you see, as they say… If it’s too good to be true then it probably isn’t true! And that’s because the installation costs they charge can almost double the price of your kitchen. We at Ashmore Kitchens, being a small independent family run business, do not make such claims, nor do we charge extortionate prices to install your kitchen. Our small team of designers and installers offer a complete design, supply and installation service at a fraction of the price of other companies. We do not compromise on quality either, all our kitchens are manufactured in the UK, using only the very best components and suppliers. So before you commit to spending more than you intended, call us for a FREE, all inclusive quotation NOW! We’re sure that you will get a pleasant surprise.
