I took this with a Nikon D40X a few years back from the palace east balcony looking over the Paseo de la Reforma in the heart of Mexico City, my favorite city. Many may remember this shot as it appeared in a Contempo Magazine article a few years ago about the Chapultepec Historical Museum, located atop a rocky hill overlooking Chapultepec Park–the largest park in Latin America.
The area has vestiges showing human presence as far back as the Toltecs with a number ruins from both the pre-Hispanic through the colonial period. Archeological studies have unearthed tombs associated a Toltec altar on the summit of the hill, and one notable site known as the Baths of Moctezuma, that were a system of tanks, reservoirs, canals and waterfalls constructed by the Aztecs.

“Cimarron Babes” Eliminate Dallas in Sectionals & Reach Qtr. Finals at USTA National Championship in Tucson, Arizona
Team Captain-Gilda Bowen
The “Cimarron Babes” is the hottest group of tennis
women's teams any local player would love to be a part of in South Texas. They started at the bottom level, the Lone Star group or 2.5 players and in just a matter of a couple of years have made it all the way to a USTA Nationals Championship tournament. This Fall the 3.5 level Cimarron team, captained by Gilda Bowen, earned their way to the top. After defeating the local Rio Grande Valley Ladies League in the Spring Season, and winning all of their six matches at the State Championship in Dallas against teams from Dallas, Ft. Worth, Corpus Christi, Tyler, and San Antonio in the scorching temperatures of 112 degrees +, they made it all the way to Tucson, Arizona, for a National tournament where they defeated the Eastern District (New York), and the Carribean Section (Puerto Rico). They were finally defeated by Southern California, with a 3-2 score. The Babes have grown into a large and strong group of teams with levels at 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and soon to start their 4.0 level in the Spring of 2012. Let's cheer and congratulate our local tennis ladies, Cimarron Babes. The BABES are shaking things up!
