the

green network

The purpose of the green network is to create a visual and acoustic buffer between the residential and commercial districts with the Green Trail, to break up the building fabric and create communal spaces with courtyards, and to improve the physical, emotional, and visual experience of downtown Clemson.

Arts help the economy of a region by: improving a community's draw to outside residents, defining a sense of place, improving the competitive edge of a community, taking the visions of the community and business leaders and integrating them into a town and, contributing to the creation of a skilled work force.

The economy is improved when creativity is concentrated in a region and the presence of firms, artists and cultural facilities draws even more creative people to the area. Also, arts and cultural activities draw crowds from other cities and helps to build both economic and social capital. The correct planning and layout of public art helps to improve tourism and manufacturing as well as economic aspects through the use of local assets
