Introduction The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) is a nationwide network of film producers, educators and programmers of Black representation on screen. The aim is to become the UK’s leading agency and resource for Black film eventually operating on a global level. TNB XPO was borne out of a need to counter systemic racism, inequity and exclusion. It has now become TNBFC's flagship event harbouring a safe space for Black creatives. The remit is selfsufficiency and sustainability facilitated by the core objectives of Achievement, Autonomy and Accountability listed below.

OUR PURPOSE
Gathering Black creatives and practitioners to connect the dots, fill the gaps and solidify a supply chain for the lifecycle of Black films. Developing an ecosystem that will elevate production levels, standard of content and routes to market (domestic & overseas) resulting in box office success, and in some cases, demonstrable social impact.
It has already organically blossomed into an arena to harness and mobilise Black talent. It will combine the best of Woman With a Movie Camera Summit, This Way Up, Cinema For All Conference, Distributor Slate Days etc. - interfaced through the prism of the Black experience in media whilst identifying influential allies and stamping Black-friendly organisations.

Black industry panellists, experts & mentors booked
70+
hours of content and training including ScreenSkills Pro-create Programme
They were matched with 10 Black mentors from within the Film and High-End TV (HETV) industry, working together in safe spaces to allow their project to live and breathe without cultural constraints.
They were given the opportunity to pitch and showcase their talent at TNB XPO in front of industry leaders for commissioning and to their peers for collaborating. Participants of the programme took part in 4 modules (Development, Finance, Sales, Distribution) where they were given key insights into the production lifecycle of releasing a film. TNB XPO provided a showcase for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives from stakeholders such as Film London's FLAMIN Animations & Equal Access Network and a slate (BlackTrack) of upcoming titles from Disney, Curzon, Universal, Sony, EOne, Amazon Prime, Modern Films and Studio Soho. There was room for Exhibition Stands and 1-to-1 meetings for stakeholders to engage directly with under-represented groups where ethnically diverse applications were low for their schemes including Production Finance Market, UK Global Film Fund and IFT Catalyst. This brokerage and intervention was highly valuable to these organisations. We have purposely kept this event free and hybrid to remove all barriers to entry. Therefore we require investment to ensure that we continue to spearhead sector development for Black talent and content regionally. Furthermore, that we diversify cinematic choices when growing audiences long-term. TNB XPO, Pro-Create, Reel Roots, TNB BHM Tour are some of the key projects that will inject British film culture with the vibrant energy it needs to thrive.
