PPM EX TRAORDINARY
“BEING EXTRAORDINARY IS A SPIRITUAL TRANSITION, GIVING GOD PERMISSION TO USE YOU FOR HIS GLORY.”
A
re you ready to move from ordinary to extraordinary? The truth is moving from ordinary to extraordinary is not a physical transition; it’s spiritual. When we think of extraordinary, we think of someone who is super, unusual or remarkable; someone that stands out from being normal. You may have a list of men and women you feel are extraordinary and feel as though you’re not qualified or have the strength to do what they do. That’s not true and an excuse that has for so long caused many to never reach their higher purpose- God’s purpose in their lives. Remember God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. It is the ordinary (your flesh) that's telling you what you can and can't do. Not only your flesh the flesh talk and mindset of others in your circle and of course that devil. Understanding how to walk in the spirit does not come overnight. It comes with spiritual growth, and spiritual growth comes from spending time with God on a daily basis. Currently, the problem is we have fed and allow the ordinary man to rule over our lives. Although the flesh is the weakest, for some it is currently the strongest. And the spirit man, the extraordinary man who is the strongest for many is asleep or what I call in a spiritual coma.
“HAVE FAITH AND TRUST GOD COMPLETELY.”
So how do you move from ordinary to extraordinary? 1. You must have a personal relationship with God and be concerned about His business. Matthew 6:33 (But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.)
PROMOTINGPURPOSE.COM | SUMMER 2016
Daily: • Pray • Read the word of God • Praise & Worship Refrain from putting God inside of a box and allow him to train you in varies areas of your life. 2. Have faith and trust God completely: walking in the extraordinary comes with a price, which means you must have faith and trust God completely. Always remember everything that we go through should strengthen us. Our strength comes from the Lord and that also includes during the time when an attack comes from the adversity. Satan doesn’t want you to move from ordinary to extraordinary. He sees that as a threat and will do anything to try and intimidate, distract or stop you. 3. Release yourself from past hurt or anger and forgive those who had a part in it: Doing this is important and is the third ingredient to activating the extraordinary in you. Look at the women who are powerhouses for the Lord in ministry, mentoring or coaching. Most of them have a story that deals with some form of hurt, disappointment, or dissatisfaction. Which they overcame after totally surrendering unto the Lord. Being extraordinary is a spiritual transition, giving God permission to use you for His glory.
"But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth." Exodus 9:16 By Sherrell Straker- Valdezloqui

INSPIRATION
PURSUE AND RECOVER ALL By Bishop Clarence R. Williams, Jr.
H
ave you ever lost anything? A job, a marriage, a friendship? Perhaps you’ve lost your joy or your courage. Whatever the loss, today can be your turnaround. Today can be the day you recover all that has been lost. God can take that setback and set you up for a mighty comeback! When you don’t have what you think you need to make it through, you have to sometimes just use what you do have. In the Bible, Moses used a rod, and David used a slingshot. David was a warrior. When the people around him wanted to stone him because they were under attack, he made a decision to encourage himself in the Lord. He started to remember who he was, and God backed him. The people then got back on track. You attract likeness. In other words, what you are, you begin to attract. Your positive attitude and strong confidence becomes attractive and encouraging to those around you – your spouse, your children, your friends, and co-workers. Go to God with your concerns. That’s what He wants you to do. He wants us to come to Him as children. Children need reassurance; they need to know that all will be well. Do you remember when your young children were afraid or worried about something? They began to trust your encouraging words and confidence and just knew that it would be alright just because you said so. It’s the same with God. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. David encouraged himself and prayed to God for direction. ““So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And God answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” If you are going through something right now, don’t stay where you are. Encourage yourself in the Lord, and GO GET YOUR STUFF! You can have a good life. You can have a good marriage. You can have joy. You can have peace. PURSUE, AND WITHOUT FAIL, RECOVER ALL!

PPM FORWARD WITH GOD Z
HOW TO BE FREE OF YOUR PAST & MOVE FORWARD WITH GOD “God created us with the ability to always move forward”
E
ach new year we promise ourselves that we are going to make new and positive changes in our relationship with God, personal lives, finances, friends and family relationships, etc. We vow to leave ALL of our past issues behind including individuals and/or family members that have been difficult, betrayers or constant trouble makers. In order to grow and move forward with God, we must leave our spiritual, emotional and mental states behind as well. We can't go back to where we were, nor remain where we are, so we must move forward. God created us with the ability to always move forward. This is confirmed by our constant natural growth from birth to adulthood, we never stop growing and moving forward. In the context of scriptures, Abram moved forward from all that was familiar, The Nation of Israel moved forward when they crossed the Red Sea and the Christians/Body of believers from the day of Pentecost moved forward in the operation of spiritual gifts and adding to the church daily.

However, our minds and bodies are like memory foam - retaining everything that can be a hindrance to our daily lives, and an interruption of our relationship with God, thus rendering us with the inability to advance or move forward in life. But, we have been given liberty in life through/by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. In order to achieve the goal of being free from our past to move forward with God, there are some key things to consider and perform in order to make this a reality. *Let go of the baggage - Holding on to your past baggage will continue to be a heavy burden and weigh on you. It will hold you hostage in your present and prevent you from entering into your future. Consider writing down your past pains on a piece of paper and then tear it into shreds or have a ceremonial burning! *Close that chapter - Isaiah 43:18 - that was then and this is now mindset. Instead of re-reading and/or rehearsing that chapter in your life.....close that chapter and move forward to write/live the next one. *Cease talking about your past - Proverbs 18:21... EVERY time we talk about the past, the pain...it takes us out of our present and suspends us in the past! We get stuck there and rehearse like a broken record over and over again. It dulls our spiritual ears to hear what God is actually saying to us in our present. *Let go of shame - 1John 1:9 - We ALL make mistakes, and God/Jesus is just to forgive us...don't continue to dwell on the shame... move on.
*Walk by Faith and not by Sight - Just because it seems or feels as if you are not out of the woods of your past, doesn't mean it has to be a reality. In order to walk by faith we must know the word of God...the scriptures, we must read and meditate on them and apply them to our lives. Joshua was instructed to do so in Joshua 1:8, and the same is true for you and if we are to receive the blessings and promises of God. *Forgive, forgive, forgive - Believe and understand the "Power of Forgiveness"- If you have unforgiveness in your heart, get rid of it quickly before it festers and turns into bitterness, resentment, rage and evil thinking. When an unforgiving memory arises, pray to the Lord to cleanse and heal your mind/thoughts. Be willing to search the scriptures and pray, then cleanse your heart and mind. Renounce the opportunity for past thoughts and painful/hurtful memories to become residents in your mind. Lastly, remember that you can do ALL things through Christ and you can move forward as you abide in Him! By Dr. Inecir Matthis

GET TO K NOW GOD
DO YOU KNOW
GOD
DO YOU KNOW
OR OF GOD? A few weeks ago I asked a friend if they believed in
God. Without hesitation, they replied, “Yes.” I continued, why do you believe in God? A puzzled look came on their face as they searched for the answer. Shortly after, they responded,“ good question.” That response made me realize my friend didn’t believe in God because of a personal relationship. They believed in God because they were told to believe in God. So, in reality, this friend didn’t know God really, they knew OF GOD, which made their knowledge of God second-hand knowledge.
PROMOTINGPURPOSE.COM | SUMMER 2016
16
“ We are in a time where it’s important to seek God for ourselves.” One of the definitions for second hand is not directly known or experienced. There's nothing wrong with getting spiritually fed from those who are truly led by God. But God has so much more to share and to show you, things that would be a spiritual added value to your assignment and purpose. The truth is, you can never really know ANYONE unless you have a personal relationship with them. Second-hand knowledge concerning something or anyone will only get you but so far. For example, a person who has experienced God and knows what He is capable of can weather the storm easier because they know for themselves that God is able and can deliver them from their current situation. No one can tell them God isn’t going to come through because they know if He has come through before He will come through again. They were able to acknowledge when and how He came through. A person who knows OF God may have a struggle with weathering the storm because they WANT to believe that God will deliver them because of the great things they have heard that He is capable and able to do. However, doubt will for sure wiggle itself in because there is no firm or strong personal foundation backing up what they want to believe. While there are several signs you are being fed spiritually in second-hand form, these signs stand out to me the most.
You can recite a scripture from the bible only because you’ve heard the Pastor repeat or talk about it several times . There are certain scriptures or verses we hear at least once or twice or may be even more throughout the year. These scriptures become just a generated saying or a recited reflex for those who have not studied the Word for themselves.
Example: Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. We hear this verse a lot. It’s short and easy to remember. Sadly it has become just a quick memory verse for some. You picture who God is and how He communicates based off of what or how someone describes Him from their personal experience. God knows how to communicate and get His children attention. Therefore, if you sit a group of believers down who say God speaks to them. Here are some ways some may say God communicate with them. 1. They hear the voice of the Lord 2. A tugging on the spirit 3. Dreams and visions 4. The words from a scripture during a time of seeking an answer from the Lord 5. Scribe writing 6. Music and more You solely depend on an inspirational post via social media to encourage you and answer spiritual questions. If you find yourself going on social media and receiving information about God or His word based off of someone's else perspective or relationship with God be very careful. Social media is a platform with people from all different walks of life and spiritual background. Be very cautious when receiving or accepting a word from a post. All it takes is a mixture of something right with a little twist of something wrong to trick you to steer you in the wrong direction. We are in a time where it is important that we seek God for ourselves. I am in no way discouraging spiritual feeding from those God has ordained to feed you. What I am encouraging you to do is seek God for yourself. The more you feed yourself, the healthier your spiritual man will be. Having a personal relationship with God will lead you to a victorious and prosperous life. By: Sherrell Straker-Valdezloqui

PPM THE POWER OF PRAYER
The Purpose of
PRAYER BY DR. PETER BONADIE
“J
esus is on the mainline, tell him what you want,” was an old chorus in the Caribbean church. It spoke of prayer merely in terms of meeting the mundane needs of congregants.
Prayer has far greater purposes in the economy of the kingdom. Amongst its purposes, it is the primary way in which man will corporate with God in fulfilling his agenda in the earth. In his book Destined for the Throne, Paul E Billheimer said, “God designed the program of prayer as an apprenticeship for an eternity of reigning with Christ.” We belong to the species of being called God and as such is authorized to participate with God in fulfilling His plan for history. The Apostle Paul says, in 2 Cor 13:14, May the … “fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” As used here, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit refers to our partnership. By our prayer the church enforces and installs the will of God in the earth. Therefore, when we issue decrees and declarations, when we make petitions, when we intercede, we are coopering with God. The Word teaches us that what we bind on the earth would have been bound in the Heaven and what we lose in the earth is already loosed in Heaven. When we discover the will of God we install and enforce it through a strong regiment of prayer, individually and corporately. We are masters of the material world. I believe that is why John Westley said, “God does nothing but in answer to prayer.” How God has chosen to work at the behest of man is a profound mystery. ‘God answers prayer,’ is serious and a provocative statement. The Angel that fought with Jacob could not leave the domain of Jacob without his permission: Gen 32:26, says, then the man said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me."
We will all agree that the angel was far stronger than Jacob, yet he could not withdraw himself. The man said “Let me go.” I submit that this was more a matter of protocol than physical strength. He was in the earth where man has rights and privileges. So he had to comply with the requests of Jacob before leaving. The point under review here is that God will not accomplish his purposes in the earth without a praying company. The church is called to pray from the place of the throne rather than at an altar. The New Testament provides a revelation of Thrones and not a revelation of Alters. Well, it’s a “Game of Thrones “we can say. We are seated with Christ in Heavenly Places. We are in Him and He is in us. The Bride of Christ is the queen of the Universe and shares in his Universal Inheritance. At alters we pray as paupers, at thrones we pray as kings. We are not peasants we are Kings. Kings speak with commands and decrees. One has to change the mental and spiritual Belief system when in prayer. At altars we speak upwards. From the throne we speak “downwards” to demons and the material world. Luke 10:2-3 says; “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” He is Lord of the harvest and hence the harvest is his, the workers are His. Why ask us to pray for him to send his workers into his harvest? He needs us to participate. Ezek 22:30-31 "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them. He could not find an intercessor to pray mercy down, hence he had to resort to judgment. God wants fellowship and partnership. When we pray we are giving him His heart’s desire. For the father seeks for such. Through our prayer we meet this need and so he meets our need as well. Our assignment is to build a regiment of prayer into our daily life and then watch the Glory of God come into our life.

A Conversation With
Tamiko Cuellar
Dynamite in a small package, fearless and inspiring are just a few words to describe Tamiko Cuellar, the CEO and Founder of Pursue Your Purpose. She is a proven leader in the marketplace among small business owners nationally and internationally. Born and raised in low income housing projects, she is a flower that rose from the cracks concrete to flourish. She has earned three business degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia on a full academic scholarship, the University of Phoenix and City Vision University respectively, and had a successful career helping to secure $30 million clients and obtaining millions of investment dollars prior to launching Pursue Your Purpose. What is Marketplace ministry and how Tamiko got started? Marketplace ministry is using your God-given gifts, talents, skills, abilities, and Gods’ anointing to serve clients in business. This can also extend into the workplace. I started in marketplace ministry by asking my former pastor if I could create a Marketplace Ministry which was called Kingdompreneurs. I knew that there were others like me who were powerfully gifted and anointed by God to influence the world outside of the four walls of the Church in the business sector, and I had the skill to help them. God told me that my assignment was bigger than the four walls of that church and that’s when Pursue Your Purpose was born in 2012.
Pursuing Your Purpose
In The Marketplace PROMOTINGPURPOSE.COM | SUMMER 2016
Why Tamiko feels it’s important for men and women of God to pursue their Purpose in the marketplace? In the Bible, Jesus explains the Kingdom of God using a parable about a nobleman who gave his servants money and instructed them to occupy until he returned. One of the translations for ‘occupy’ is ‘to busy oneself with trading’ or ‘to do business’. On a more practical level, we are called to be salt and light. Both are change agents and influencers to their environments. We are to be those things in every sector of society, including business. When believers don’t lead or influence in business we leave room for the world to occupy.

MARK ETPLACE MINISTRY

Signs that one may have a purpose in the marketplace A person called to the marketplace is usually creative, bored and unexcited in the traditional workplace, a natural rule-breaker, often doesn’t fit into traditional churches, and longs for a much larger platform to express their gifts. That person also exhibits strong leadership abilities and is more comfortable taking risks than most. What Tamiko has discovered that has hindered many believers from moving forward in really being successful business owners and how they can overcome in both the natural and spiritual realm. One of the greatest hindrances believers face in becoming successful business owners is overspiritualizing business. Some are torn about using their gifts to make money which is a trick of the enemy! God gave us gifts in part so we can prosper. Believers use their gifts at work on a job and collect a paycheck but then feel apprehensive to ask for payment of their services and/or products in their businesses!
That conflict often comes from not knowing their true worth and value which spills over into business. So the way to overcome this is by getting a revelation from God of their worth. The results Tamiko is seeking in the lives of those she comes in contact with in the market place. My goal as a Small Business Strategist is to instill confidence, inspire and equip people to succeed in the businesses that God called them to operate. When I coach my clients, their spiritual principles from the Bible and the natural business principles from the world meet. They need both to be successful. God has gifted and anointed me to deliver divine, supernatural strategies that help get business owners unstuck and catapulted to their next level. THE MIND OF A LEGEND
The Mind of a Pioneer and a Legend
DR.MYLES MUNROE
AS TOLD BY AGATHA B. CHRISTIE
DR. MUNROE LED BY EXAMPLE. HE HAD A TRUE SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE WORD.
As a leader, Dr. Munroe got involve in leading people where he thought they should go. His slogan for his organization (Bahamas Faith Ministries International) was “Train Up Followers Into Leaders and Leaders Into Agents of Change”. He was a strong leader that believes in changing the negative to positive, the bad to good, and darkness to light, sad to happy. He had a word in leadership for transforming anyone that knew they were born to lead.
PROMOTINGPURPOSE.COM | SUMMER 2016
22
What you saw was what you got. Myles Munroe dedicated his heart and time to the millions of Third World people who was trapped under the misconception of many misguided would-be leaders who attempted to rob them of their true abilities and leadership potential. As I worked alongside Dr. Myles Munroe I was always left in awe as I watched him in his passion and love for people. He would just sit there and listen to what they have to say and in a few words he would blow their minds, change their life and then pray with them. They would leave with a happy heart and a vision to carry out. I then in turn would interview them and they’d give me such great answers when I asked them when they hear the name “MYLES MUNROE” what comes to mind. Words like; Awesome, Leadership, The Kingdom, Humble, Great Teacher, Purpose and Potential. My favorite teachings from him were on relationships, family, men and women. His teachings were also demonstrated in the way he lived day-to-day. What was so amazing, he had a way of teaching on life from the Word of God that blew your mind every time; you never were the same once you heard the Word taught and demonstrated by him. Dr. Munroe’s presentation and style of speaking and teaching on leadership and the Word of God gave life and hope a strong powerful meaning for why you were born. He dug past deep and took each word upon word, line upon line and explained it in such a way that made you felt like you were born to take on world and challenge anything or anyone that came your way.
Dr. Munroe also believed that everyone was born to lead no matter what facet of life you came from; to him you were born to lead. He pulls out of you the hidden treasures that are burdened deep down inside of you that you, yourself, would not have seen. Dr. Munroe took time and sat with you one-on-one to teach you whether it was about the Word of God or leadership, the same way he would teach before five thousand. He loved people and he showed it.
Sometimes I wonder if he was before his time the way he taught, led, served, loved and lived. He was a legend with a mind of a pioneer. They say, “Genuine leadership…is an attitude of the heart.” Dr. Myles E. Munroe was a genuine leader and his heart showed it in his walk of true leadership. He said in his book, “The Spirit of Leadership” “While every person possesses the potential of leadership, many do not understand how to cultivate the leadership nature and how to apply it to their lives.”
I have watched him with his mentors; those who were willing to learn no matter the cost. They would sit there for hours as he poured out his heart whether it is about the Kingdom of God or True Leadership. To him everyone was a student and who he assisted in discovering their true leadership potential. His style of mentoring and leading was amazing. He would say, "Watch me." Over the years I have watched Dr. Munroe from pastoring a church to speaking at meetings with government officials, Presidents, Prime Ministers and Kings, to the man on the streets to the janitors he was the same person.

Dr. Myles E. Munroe was a native Bahamian who loved his country. He poured his heart out to help build the Bahamas as a leader especially as a spiritual leader. He was highly respected in the Bahamas. When he spoke the people listened to the words of truth drop in their ears. There were times he was asked to run for political office but no one knew. The last two years of his life he spoke on radio talk shows around the country and appeared on television shows dealing with issues that was affecting the country. Jack W. Hayford said,“Dr. Myles E. Munroe stands as a pillar of strength in the midst of so much windblown confusion that is ripping apart sectors of the church. His commitment to integrity and spiritual passion to a biblical lifestyle uncluttered by dead tradition is a joy to behold.” Dr. Munroe was the only man who was a pastor, international motivational speaker, best-selling author, lecturer, educator, business consultant true leadership.
He was gifted; he addressed critical issues affecting individuals’ social and spiritual development of any country he spoke to. You presented him with any question and he would give you a meaningful answer. He always had your attention, if it was one minute or hours; you were locked down to listen. He was always clear and concise with his teachings. The former Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Ivy Dumont, The Commonwealth of the Bahamas said “Dr. Myles Munroe has identified the soft underbelly of the religious, social, and economic condition of today’s world. He has punctured the myths surrounding leadership and leaders and exposed the elusive link for all to see.” Myles Munroe believed in the Spirit of Leadership cultivating the attitudes that influence human action. meals, so making meal prep a family affair can save a substantial amount of time.
Make Weeknight Meals HEALTHY AND SIMPLE
Households in which both parents work and kids have school and extracurricular commitments can get a little hectic, particularly on weeknights. Parents who want to prepare nutritious dinners may feel it’s impossible to do so without making elaborate, time-consuming recipes. But there are ways for busy, time-strapped parents to make sure weeknight dinners are both healthy and simple.
• Rely on a slow cooker One of the simplest ways to prepare healthy meals that won’t take much time to prepare each night is to use a slow cooker. Set dinner in the slow cooker in the morning before leaving for work, and by the time you arrive home each night you will have a fully prepared, healthy meal ready to be served.
• Stock a healthy pantry When grocery shopping, purchase some healthy nonperishable foods that you can rely on in a pinch. Instead of stocking the freezer with unhealthy yet easily prepared frozen foods that are often loaded with saturated fat, stock your pantry with whole grain pastas. Whole grain pastas are lower in calories and higher in fiber and contain more nutrients than refined white pastas. And once water is boiled, whole grain pastas can be prepared in roughly 10 minutes.
• Make meal prep a family affair Families who share the responsibility of making dinner on weeknights may find it easier to prepare healthy meals. Younger children may not be able to join in the preparation of too many dishes, but middle school and high school students can help out by chopping vegetables while their parents work on other parts of the meal. Preparing meals can take as much time, if not more, than cooking
• Cook meals in advance Families who are hesitant to use slow cookers may benefit by preparing healthy meals over the weekend and then refrigerating or freezing them so they can be cooked on weeknights. If you plan to freeze meals prepared in advance, remember to remove them from the freezer the night before and place them in the refrigerator so they are thawed out when you arrive home from work to place them in the oven. • Choose simple recipes Trying new recipes is one of the joys of cooking. But trying new recipes on weeknights can be time-consuming because cooks have yet to grow accustomed to each step in the recipe. When looking for new weeknight recipes, look for meals that can be prepared in five steps or less, leaving the more complicated recipes for weekend meals.

PPM EATING WITH A PURPOSE
TRICKS TO EAT LESS
Using a smaller plate that is filled with food can trick the brain into thinking it ate a larger meal, helping diners to eat less as a result.
E
xercise and healthy eating are the main components to shedding pounds and maintaining that weight loss over the long haul.
Although bodies and dietary needs vary from person to person, medical professionals typically advise adults to consume a certain amount of calories per day to maintain longterm health. The National Health Service advises the average adult male needs approximately 2,500 calories per day to keep his weight constant, while the average adult female needs 2,000. Reducing caloric intake slightly can serve as a catalyst to losing weight. A healthy weight can reduce the risk of certain diseases and conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and arthritis-related joint pain. Men and women will find there are dozens of diets designed to help people eat less, and some of these may be more manageable than others. There also are additional strategies people can take to curb unhealthy eating habits, which can contribute to weight gain.
Drink more water Dehydration symptoms can mimic the symptoms of hunger. Before reaching for a snack, try a tall glass of water. Also, consume water before a meal and you will be less likely to overeat.
Use a smaller plate It’s possible to trick the brain into thinking you’re eating more than you really are by reducing the size of your plate. A full plate sends the signal that you’re eating a lot.
Eat slowly Rushing through a meal may cause you to overeat. Focus on the bites you take and savor each one. Slowing down also will help you recognize when you are satisfied and can put down your fork.
Dole out portions in advance When eating meals or snacking, preselect portion sizes and keep the larger pot of food or bag of chips in the pantry. Out of sight, out of mind, and you probably won’t miss the extra food.
Know food weaknesses If you’re a sucker for ice cream, don’t stock it in the freezer. If you tend to eat as a coping method to stress, look for a healthier way to relieve that anxiety, such as exercise. Recognizing and eliminating foods that may encourage poor eating habits can help you eat less. Overeating can be curbed by taking a few simple steps that are as effective as they are easy.
Start with a protein-fueled breakfast Breakfast is touted as the most important meal of the day, and there is evidence that selecting protein laden foods for breakfast, rather than simple carbohydrates, may suppress appetite throughout the day. Choosing an omelet over a bagel might make a real difference.
Don’t eat while distracted Eating while involved in an important conversation or while watching an engaging television program can divert attention away from how much you are eating, so stay focused on the amount of food you’re eating.

HOW TO PREVENT INJURY
When Exercising
E
xercise is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. The World Health Organization recommends
that healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 64 perform at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week or do at least 75 minutes of vigorousintensity aerobic activity each week. Many adults cite hectic schedules as their reason for not getting enough exercise, but even those who do find time to exercise could find themselves sidelined if they do not take certain preventive measures to reduce their risk for injury. Though injuries can happen to even the most seasoned and knowledgeable athletes, there are certain measures adults can take to reduce their injury risk.
Recognize your limitations Once you have established a regular exercise routine and your body has grown accustomed to daily exercise, it can be tempting to overdo it or even unknowingly push your body to points that put you at a greater risk of injury. But recognizing your limitations is an essential part of avoiding injury. As you exercise more, you may notice certain areas of your body respond better to exercise than others. For example, if your wrists ache after strength training sessions, reduce the amount of weight you are lifting or look for strength-building exercises that don’t require lifting weights.
Warm up before each session No matter how accustomed your body is to regular exercise, warming up before each workout is still necessary to avoid injury. Warming up before each workout elevates your heart rate and increases circulation, loosening the joints and increasing blood flow to the muscles you’re about to exercise. Between five and 10 minutes of low-intensity cardiovascular exercise can help loosen up your body and prepare it for the more grueling workout to come.
Switch your routines every so often When exercise becomes a part of your daily routine, you may end up hitting a plateau. When that happens, your workouts may feel less effective. Switching up routines every so often can combat that problem while also reducing injury risk to overtaxed muscles forced to endure the same exercises day in and day out. Diversify your workout every so often by choosing new exercises and switching up the cardiovascular portion of your workout.

Give your body time to rest and recover Exercise feels good, both physically and mentally. Daily exercise can help adults lose weight, and shedding those extra pounds can improve mobility and help adults live more active and fulfilling lives. Exercise also causes the release of hormones known as endorphins, which trigger positive feelings in the body. Those positive feelings can be somewhat addictive, but it’s important that adults give their bodies time to rest and recover between workouts. Lack of time to rest and recover makes bodies vulnerable to injury, so include time to recover in your weekly exercise regimen. Daily exercise can help adults live long, healthy and fulfilling lives. But it’s important that men and women of all ages take steps to reduce their risk of exercise-related injury.

UNDERSTANDING
DREAMS
They Are More Than You Think BY APOSTLE, DR. RICARDO VINCENT
T
he first time I began to treat dreams with much significance was when I went to a church service in Miami. While walking through the bookstore I felt as if the Spirit of the Lord prompted me to take up a
book on dreams. I did so and began to skim. As I thumbed through the book, the Holy Spirit took me straight to a particular chapter and my thumb just moved down the page as if by some strange impression to one sentence. The statement was: “God wants to speak to his people through dreams, but they are not listening.” The author continued by saying ‘since it is the Holy Spirit who gives us the true meaning of dreams, when we have a dream we should pray and say,’ “Lord, give me the interpretation of this dream and what you want me to understand from it.” Then, the Holy Spirit will bring the interpretation and understanding to us. The author continues by saying ‘He will, if we ask. So that evening when I returned to the place where I was staying in Miami; just before I went to bed I prayed: “Father as I sleep tonight there are many things I want to know, so as I dream, Lord give me the interpretation of the dream and what you want me to understand from them.” That night I dreamt I heard a voice saying: “Come out into the road with a towel around you and stand before me.” And in the dream, as I did this, a very tall man took me back into my bedroom, and with a gunshot made three holes over my bed head. As I awoke I asked the Lord for the interpretation and understanding of this dream, and in my mind a thought came to me of Adam and Eve naked before the Lord. Then I felt as if the Lord was saying:
“Stand before me in the way, in the path I set for you, naked and exposed before me. Open yourself before me in purity. Then I will send my angels to bring the blessing and I will bless you in three ways (the holes meant things to be filled) and the blessing will be complete.” Three is the number of completion - three holes meaning three things to be brought to completion. God used (1) the gun – (2) the Word of God and (3) the bed, the place of rest to speak to me. Then in another dream the Lord revealed to me the three areas in which He had plan to bless me. There is purpose in dreams; in your dreams purpose is clarified and even revealed. Throughout scriptures we see purpose in the dreams of Joseph, Daniel, Jacob, Nebuchadnezzar, Pharaoh, even Joseph (earthly Father of Jesus). Historically, also it has been noted that many inventions and solutions came out of dreams. For instance, the structure of the atom, the periodic table, and Albert Einstein’s Theory of relativity are just a few examples. So, Dreams are important for solutions, inventions, warnings, clarifying of purpose and even healing of the soul. Over the years through research and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Lord has given me a process for revealing these secrets in dreams. I call it an interpretative process and this I am sharing with the saints and churches around the world. “The Purpose of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out…..” Proverbs 20:5 There is purpose in dreams so let us understand the language to draw it out.

PRINCE OF PEACE
“THE PRINCE OF PEACE” ~The MISSING PIECE to PEACE~ BY APOSTLE GLEN C. FRAZIER, SR.
America is mad! The spirits of strife, hatred, murder and terrorism has blanketed the nation and created a climate and culture that has produced great fear and unrest. Nobody seems to have an answer to solve this great dilemma. Even the church community itself seems clueless to the answer. Major news networks, the many social media outlets, government, politicians and law enforcement agencies all make it apparent that our nation (not to mention the world) needs a peace that has been eluding humanity for ages. The various peace marches, town hall meetings, law enforcement plans from our federal, state and local governments have all failed to bring about true peace within our nation. That indicates humanity has no answer as to how to achieve it. Past and present efforts have failed to accomplish it. However, the Word of God has revealed that “The PRINCE of PEACE is the MISSING Piece to Peace!” The simple answer to establishing peace within our nation is found in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the “PRINCE OF PEACE.”
Nearly some 700 years before Jesus was born on earth, the Prophet Isaiah foretold the true “peace maker” was coming to bring “true” peace to earth. This “peace maker” would be called “The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 KJV)
the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom way. Peace is a spiritual principle and spirit that has its source in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. A principle is an “established law.” Since humanity does not understand Christ’s kingdom (God’s way of doing and being right), they reject it’s principles that contain happiness, justice, equity, prosperity and righting all wrongs that have been done. These are the very things they seek, but it “must” be done “God’s way!”
Jesus Christ Himself has given us “peace principles” (established laws) to produce the peace we desire, need and is searching for. (John 14:27) Humanity thinks it has a better plan and system for establishing peace than God, who created it. However, we have seen the results of their efforts. “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” (PROVERBS 14:12; 16:25 NKJV) Here’s the thing, we are instructed to “seek and pursue peace,” (Psalm 34:14 KJV) but that means we are to seek and pursue “the Prince of Peace,” who is Jesus Christ Himself.
Humanity constantly tries to find the peace they understand based on their human wisdom. They are destined to continue to fail and be unsuccessful at all of their attempts because they are missing the main piece.
The Hebrew word used for “peace” in this verse is “SHALOM” and comes from another prime root Hebrew word “SHALAM.” It means to be safe (in mind, body or estate). It means to make complete, be friendly, make amends, (re) pay, and make good. Additionally, it means to make perfect and prosper. [Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible]
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God…The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.” (1 CORTHIANS 3:19-20 KJV) Greek word for “vain” means “empty, profitless.”[Strong’s Concordance]
God declared His will for all humanity to experience peace when Jesus was born. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Luke 2:14 KJV)
This “shalom” that Jesus brings to earth causes us to “be safe, be friendly, make amends for wrongs done, repay debts and make good on any pledges.” This “shalom” establishes perfection and causes prosperity.” Our world that desperately searches for peace is looking in all the wrong places. The World is searching for a peace they can understand. However, they have missed the missing piece to peace because they have not understood that true peace comes only from
True peace comes only through a “transformed” (renewed) mind. That means growing in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 1:17-18) There is still hope to achieve peace in this world, but that hope rests in the Lord Jesus Christ, and Him only! Jesus Christ, The Prince of Peace is “the MISSING PIECE to PEACE!”

IT’S TIME TO ARISE
A Changing Of The Guards
A Brief Perusal Of Joshua 1:11-‐10 By Rev. Karen-‐ Alleyne Harper
From time to time, as we traverse this life we experience change. Not many of us like or enjoy change. Change tends to make us uncomfortable, we often feel a sense of disquiet as we go through the change. God however, sees change as necessary. If we are to meet His mandate, His purpose, we must change. As we change so too does our focus, aims, goals, ambitions and ultimately, our purpose. A changing of the guards is marked by physical changes. There are changes from the norm that must take place if there is to be a successful changing of the guards. Just as new wine cannot be put into old wine skins, so too, new guards cannot be appointed and function with old systems in place, in the old environment. While the ultimate goal remains the same, the methods change. 1. A successor must make a physical change = ARISE There must be a change in position A successor cannot continue in the previous position, but must ascend to a new position, a new placing. Whether it is a new physical office, a new building and new city, country or state. In light of this, if the predecessor is still alive he must be willing to move aside. A successor cannot take up his role if the predecessor will not allow him to, by moving aside. In Joshua’s case Moses was dead, so it made the ascension to his new role easier. 2. A change in position of the whole body/assembly = GO OVER THE JORDANA change in paradigm. Each leader will have a different way of accomplishing the same objective.
The followers must also change their position. They must be willing and able to move from where they were under the previous leader to the new starting point of the new leader. This change is sometimes a physical change in most; it is a mental shift in thinking. 3.Understanding of the new role thou and all this people..… every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that I have given unto you verse 2-4 The new leader now functions in a new role, a role that is new to him. He needs to recognize the requirements of his new role. God has appointed him the leader because of the skill that God has placed within him. It is the nature of his character that will bring forth that which God wants accomplished. You would not place a cat to guard your house. In like manner God would not place a new foot soldier to lead the army, it is when the foot soldier gains adequate experience and training, he would be given that task to lead the army. 4. Recognition of the new leadership = there shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of your life. Verse 5 The new leadership, ordained and appointed by God, listening to His voice will be successful in all his tasks. In God’s instruction to Saul in I Samuel 15:3 was “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. In other words do not leave anything alive, yet Saul

felt that he should preserve Agag the king and the best of the sheep, the oxen and of the fatlings and the lambs and all that was good. God’s response was that Saul had turned his back from following God that he failed to perform His commandments. Saul’s disobedience cost him the leadership of Israel. Our obedience to God will bring all success required. All leaders must remember that their obedience is required by God. It does not matter how much one sacrifices to God, if one cannot operate in obedience to the Lord all will fail. Rev. Karen Alleyne- Harper
