The analysis aims to identify its distinct architectural character and the structural model of its buildings.

Apart from the main street and a few substreets, which are asphalted, in the old cradles of the settlement they are cobbled, with four different patterns using various stones.
vernacular settlement in corfu - ntua semester5 The roads are pretty narrow, like alleys, and they have that feel even though the houses are not taller than two floors. They are also crooked, with many turns and you never have the sense of walking in a straight line. Their shape is defined by the houses’ walls, which are very condensely built and have no regular shape, therefore there is no straight facade line.
