PREREQUISITES • A small cabin, made by light materials, located near a cartographed mountain path. • Constructed in parts, on site, using simple tools and a small workforce. • Surface area totalling 20m2. • Integrated with the wild natural surroundings. • Used by mountain-climbers or trekkers, either for the whole year or just during winter. • Shelter from the cold, storms and snow. • Reversible structure, without leaving permanent marks on the landscape apart from the inevitable concrete founda ons. • Assump on that it will be situated in a 15-30% slope.
CONCEPT The structure was designed in wood and the exterior faces in plywood. An inten on was to make the building seem like “levita ng” above the ground by using this par cular base of triangula ons, without losing much in rigidity. The building was designed with two spaces, one more public with a wardrobe and a table, to prepare and consume food and drinks, and one more private where the sleeping would occur.
