We also give you the straight scoop on rod technology because we have no reason to hide behind over inflated claims. The fact that we don’t hire a team to conjure up an alphabet soup of acronyms, or loudly proclaim we’ve revolutionized the fly rod every season, doesn’t mean we aren’t on the forefront of developing the best proprietary technologies and construction techniques for our rods. Of course we use the latest composite materials optimized for our designs, source the very best components for their respective applications, and hone our production processes to deliver consistent quality and performance. In our view,
those are just the first steps down a long and rewarding path. The next steps are all about putting our passion to action. We use our knowledge gained from forty years of design experience with our commitment to handcraft every fly rod we make to give you top performance and benchmark quality. G2 rods inspire confidence. G2 rods combine compound progressive tapers, multi-modulus lay-ups, and ultra thinwalled, larger diameter natural finish blanks. These innovative design features give you great casting control yet transmit nuances through the rod so you feel the subtleties that help you turn tough fishing conditions into successful ones. This isn’t about nostalgia or being retro. It’s about having fun, plain and simple. Sometimes ‘faster, farther, bigger’ isn’t the goal. Built with a new highly unidirectional S2 glass weave matched to a high performance epoxy resin, the rods are light, yet have enough mass to deliver casts with smooth precision. The S4 series of fast action rods combine power with feel, very light physical weights with durability, sensitive tips with superb stability and tracking, line speed with tippet protection, and the finest components with top craftsmanship. These remarkable rods will help you fish better by improving accuracy, distance, line control and fish control. S4 rods feature REC Recoil nickel titanium
snake guides, SiC strippers in real titanium frames, REC custom titanium anodized reel seats with California buckeye burl wood spacers. Add to all of that, Scott touches like measuring wraps and alignment dots, and you’ve got some truly incredible fishing tools.
Fly fishing saltwater is challenging. We’re helping you meet these challenges head on with the S4s series of high performance saltwater rods. Each component on S4s rods was selected for ultimate performance in harsh saltwater environments. They feature stealthy low glare finishes and the best corrosion resistant technology available from nickel titanium Recoil snake guides, to SiC strippers housed in full titanium frames to our exclusive machined reel seats featuring type 3 hard coat anodize finishes. Handcrafted from start to finish in Montrose, Colorado by the skilled artisans at Scott Fly Rod Company, A4 rods feature many of the technological and process innovations that have been features in top end Scott rods.
A4 rods are smooth casting high line speed rods with very low physical weights. They recover very quickly and cast super flat, very precise loops, yet load progressively and transmit feel extremely well.
The blanks are designed and rolled with multimodulus lay ups on compound taper mandrels, and are connected using Scott’s industry leading low mass sleeve ferrule design.
Like all Scott rods, design and craftsmanship are more than just blank design. Components and construction were carefully chosen to deliver top performance with the anglers needs in mind.
New grip shapes were turned from Super grade cork to provide greater feel, TiCh coated reel seats with self aligning slide hoods make rigging easy and protect the hardware from harsh elements, and TiCh stripping guides feature SiC inserts. The component group is truly best in class. A4 rods cover a wide variety of fishing situations from small creeks to inshore and saltwater flats.

Whether you’re targeting trout with ultra-light two handed rods or working a salmon run with 1200 grains for the big boys, there’s a T2H rod to help you do the job better. T2h rods are equally at home with long bellied lines and single Spey as they are with Skagit style heads and perry pokes, or short Scandi heads with sharp bottom hand snap. The rods are very light with responsive tips, progressive actions, and smooth power delivery. Our multi directional graphite blank technology
helps eliminate torque that can cause poor loop shape and loss of distance. It also allows you to access power without the need to over or under powering your casts. The two hand assist rods cover situations where casting and fishing a single hand rod are enhanced by the ability to use a second hand assist in casting and setting up drifts.

Developed from our Custom Shop program, Scott M Series rods feature components and craftsmanship most often found on the finest split bamboo rods. These are heirloom quality rods that will make you proud to own them and to fish them. The freshwater rods are appointed with blued nickel silver components like custom reel seats with amboyna wood spacers, hand made Snakebrand guides, real agate stripping guides in hand soldered nickel silver frames, strap and ring hook
keepers, and unique grips turned from the very best Flor grade cork. The saltwater rods feature custom type 3 hard coat anodized aluminum reel seats with self aligning hoods and oversized double knurled lock rings, titanium stripping guides, Recoil snakes and the finest Flor grade grips. Attention to detail is the finest found on a production graphite rod today.
For the committed, there are few things that match the joy of owning and fishing the finest hand made bamboo fly rod.
