Come and Worship at Legacy this Sunday Legacy Bible Church was founded in 2015 for the purpose of providing a worship home for followers of Jesus Christ who desire time-honored (traditional) worship and in-depth Bible preaching. The present home of the church is in a rented facility in Noblesville, and construction is underway on our own new ilding in Fishers that is scheduled to open in the fall of 2021.
Beginning April 11 LBC is returning to its pre-pandemic Sunday schedule of worship service at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday School for all ages at 11:00 a.m. There is also a children’s message (Grades K-5) during the 9:30 hour following the all-family worship. time. Once we are comfortable that we can do so safely, we will once again celebrate the Lord’s Supper weekly.

Insurance is more than just protecting tangible possessions. It’s also about providing a sense of security and peace for families and neighbors. Brandon Libunao and his team, The Libunao Agency of State Farm, celebrate their first anniversary of moving to Fishers in April. “I’ve lived in Fishers since 2014,” Libunao says. “My kids go to school here. I knew Fishers was where we needed to be.” The timing couldn’t have been worse for the move. The COVID-19 pandemic shuttered businesses and cities in April of 2020. “We had the space renovated, and then everything shut down,” Libunao says. “We’re an essential business, so I ended up having my whole team working from my home along with all their kids in my basement. Many of their day cares were closed. It was a
crazy time, but we made it work.”

The Libunao team offers all the typical insurance products along with financial services.
Building a lasting relationship with Hamilton County residents is one of the team’s biggest goals.
“We are a full service agency so we offer auto, home, life and health insurance products as well as financial services,” Libunao says. “My agency is set up a little bit differently. My job is to meet with customers every day, understand their current needs and future needs, and then build a plan around that, whether it’s insurance or financial services.”
“We offer insurance and that’s how we pay the bills, but how we approach it is a little different,” Libunao says. “We try to approach it by grassroots involvement. We eat where you eat. We shop where you shop. We’re donating where you’re donating. The more you get to know us and have that relationship, the more likely you’ll be to use us in the future.
Libunao’s team focuses on a variety of areas to serve clients.
Libunao wants to make sure his team is the focus, rather than himself.
“I have account managers who are available to review policies and get clients started,” Libunao says. “We also have an entire customer service team leading our retention efforts. Then we also have an outreach team. They focus on being involved in our

From his office desk, Jay Gagne has floorto-ceiling window views of a large body of water outside his Castleton office location for Gagne Wealth Management Group. Water has always reminded Jay of his youth growing up on northern Indiana’s Tippecanoe Lake and is, unsurprisingly, what grounds him and keeps him centered. Gagne, 50, spends his days doing financial planning and managing the personal investment assets of approximately 300 clients, which he takes very seriously and handles with great care and consideration. He describes his day as one filled with multi-faceted roles. “This industry is hard, it’s not easy,” he says. “There are so many moving parts, things to know, and thus experience matters to a large degree. But when you grow to an elite level, you must be doing something right.”
He is referring to the group’s recent recognition by Forbes magazine’s SHOOK rankings as a top wealth advisor with a #13 “Best in State” ranking for Indiana. This is up from a #16 ranking in 2020, which Gagne says was a “hard earned” move up in the state rankings. “We take great pride in not only being recognized as “Best in State” for three consecutive years, but also in continuing to climb in our ranking,” Gagne says. That is due to a complex assessment the firm underwent each year, such as assets under management, broker record, creative planning solutions for clients, staff interviews and, as Gagne proudly emphasizes, “a perfect service record. Gagne points to a humorous story that emphasizes creativity while serving clients. When his wife Tessa was in labor in 2017, he was very underdressed from his usual professional attire. He had a client who needed immediate attention, and his client conversation as a wealth advisor was overheard by the attending anesthesiologist. After a business card was requested and given, the next week Gagne promptly had a new client — and a week-old son, Conor. Wealth investment has its roots in Gagne’s family. He says a lot of inspiration came from his mother Paula, who is also licensed and maintains 1% of the business ownership as law requires. Paula is co-president and still maintains an office and a very active interest in the daily business functioning as well as on going client needs. More than 35 years ago, with two teenage sons, Paula Gagne, the stay-at-home mom, was inspired to make her mark as a financial advisor. She earned her required license’s but needed someone to give her a chance,
Wall Street had large barriers to entry at the time. The generally male-dominated field proved hard to enter but Paula had a plan. She made an appointment with a firm under the guise of being an investor and talked her way into her first job. Success quickly followed the motivated advisor and corporate entities came recruiting due to her proven success in the name of Merrill Lynch. While she was making waves in the financial world, Jay Gagne was busy gaining his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. “I thought about law school but was inspired by the stories I would hear at the dinner table. The studio, located in Kroger’s parking lot, fosters a sense of meaningful community. Offering both in-person and virtual sessions, the studio creates a space where women can feel in control. For instance, they partner with Caplinger’s Fresh Catch Seafood Market, Illinois Street Food Emporium, 317 Burger and 317 BBQ, Kopper Kettle Inn, Smokin’ Barrel BBQ, Oaken Barrel Brewing Company and several hundred others – all local. An employee-owned company, the team at McFarling Foods is dedicated to taking care of their community - something that has been evident during the COVID-19 crisis. “This is our home, and our neighborhood,” says Acquisto, a Fishers resident since 2001. “We live here, work here and raise our families here. That’s what it means to be part of a community. So we wanted to step up during the pandemic.” In the past year, McFarling Foods donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in food and transportation resources to help food insecure families in its service area, in addition to actively participating in the USDA Farmers to Families program early in the pandemic. They also started “Food Drop Fridays”, in which they provide free lunches to local heroes.

McFarling Foods has now begun “Food Drop Friday” donations for healthcare workers at local vaccination clinics.

It’s not just solving an immediate need, but it’s putting down roots in the community,” says Acquisto, who is pleased with the ways the company has been able to help the community, especially during the past year. Acquisto works closely with another longtime Fishers resident, McFarling Foods Director of Business Development Aldy Labrador (foreground) to build connections in the Hamilton County community.
“We’ve provided financial support and manpower, but when it comes down to it, we have food,” Acquisto adds. “That’s what we can offer. We are happy to do it. When Queso’s Mexican Bar & Grill opened in March of 2019, it was a dream come true. “We had a desire to open a restaurant, and everything aligned perfectly to do so,” says Yair Carvajal, Operations Manager for Queso’s. Owner Karina Serrato chose the name because Mexican cheeses are so diverse. “There are seven or eight different types of Mexican cheeses, and certain parts of Mexico use different ones,” Carvajal says. “The past year has been a trying time for restaurants due to government-mandated shutdowns stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak, but McFarling Foods helped ease the sting,” Carvajal adds. He goes on to praise McFarling’s business
practices and the sound advice he has gotten from the McFarling team amidst the pandemic. For example, for a stretch of time last year, it was difficult to find proteins when many plants were shut down. “All we could do was listen to the news, but our McFarling rep saw certain trends and told me, ‘I know you normally order X amount of things, but I think it might be harder to get this in the next few weeks, so I suggest you order an extra case or two,’” Carvajal says. Throughout the pandemic, the Hamilton County community has been supportive by ordering lots of takeout from the eatery. In recent weeks, their dine-in sales have also increased. A favorite menu item at Queso’s is the Cochinita Pibil. Popular in the southern part of Mexico, it’s pulled pork shoulder marinated and braised in achiote paste and citrus juice. are deep-fried corn tortillas rolled around a mix of grilled chicken, cooked with roasted green tomatillo salsa and cream cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and crema. “We make lots of items in-house,” Carvajal says. “Our partnership with McFarling Foods makes that possible, as they deliver fresh foods so that we can create quality products.” This goes for both food and drinks. Individualized Therapy Solutions, owned by Alyssa Jones, M.S., CCC-SLP, offers customized therapy for a wide range of speech-language issues. “There can often be disconnect between speech-language therapy at a hospital, school or outpatient facility and the home environment,” Jones says. “Once people get back into their home environment, it’s hard to carry over those skills into their everyday lives, where communication is most important.” The disconnect can cause delays in a client’s
progress.
Jones’ approach includes determining ways that the client’s family can assist in meeting their goals.

The online camps are available for all Indiana residents, and inperson camps are local to Fishers” Jones’ in-home services are for Hamilton County residents, and her online services are open to all Indiana residents.

DEVEAU’S SCHOOL OF GYMNASTICS education teacher before founding DeVeau’s. Preschool classes focus on gross and fine motor skills, reading readiness, and teaching children how to share and wait for one’s turn. She notes that for many kids, the gymnastics school is their first experience being around other children in a classroom setting. DeVeau’s School of Gymnastics has been a staple in the area since 1982. Throughout the past 39 years they have expanded twice, and now they have more than 60,000 square feet for classes, team programs, camps and activities.
DeVeau’s puts a focus on gross motor skills that kids may not otherwise be getting help with, due to sedentary day-to-day lifestyles in front of screens and tablets.
The company teaches preschool kids how to skip, hop, gallop, jump and, in a roundabout way, fall properly. When DeVeau’s son was 3 years old, he tripped on his Superman cape when he was going down the stairs. DeVeau’s also offers recreational programs for all ages, including girls and boys gymnastics classes, tumbling classes, cheerleading classes, and Ninja Zone classes. In girls gymnastics, when students are bouncing on trampolines, they’re learning patterning and sequencing, which is critical for math and reading. “They’re learning how to pattern and sequence with their bodies instead of on a piece of paper,” DeVeau says. “Doing tuck jumps, straddle jumps, seat drops remembering that pattern and then applying it is a fun way to learn.” Through the years, their gymnastics team program - the largest in the state - has placed dozens of male and female athletes with college scholarships. They’ve trained Samantha Peszek, who started training at DeVeau’s at age 2, made the 2008 U.S. Olympic team, and earned a full scholarship to UCLA where she was an NCAA champion. “We’re such a community here,” DeVeau says. “In fact, many of our staff have trained here, gone on to college and come back to coach, because this is what they love and where they love to be.” The Ninja Zone program, with its rigs, trampolines, warp walls and obstacle
courses, is a high-energy atmosphere that kids love. Luke Lautzenheiser, DeVeau’s husband, has created an amazing Ninja experience “where kids are having fun while being active without even realizing the strength and confidence they’re gaining,” DeVeau says. The competitive cheerleading program, Dragons Elite, competes both regionally and nationally providing a great foundation for cheerleaders ages 5-18. The program is led by three former collegiate cheerleaders focusing on stunting, tumbling, dancing, jumping, and strength and flexibility. “It’s a fun, high-energy, performance-based sport where kids learn to work with others and compete together,” says DeVeau, who is one of the coaches. The coaches have a motto, which they ask their cheer students to repeat back to them at the end of every practice: “We are strong. We are confident. We are beautiful. We are family.” “We believe they are all of those things, and we want to make sure that they believe it, too,” DeVeau says. “We care about their mental health and teaching these girls how to be confident in who they are is so important.” They also offer a competitive trampoline and tumbling team that competes locally
and nationally. Some kids participate in more than one program - for example, gymnastics and cheerleading, or gymnastics as well as trampoline and tumbling. “It’s great how working at one [discipline] makes you better at another,” DeVeau says. “It helps them become more well-rounded.” She adds that the facility has families involved in multiple activities. “Families can come all at once,” she says. “One child can go to gymnastics while another is in cheerleading, a third in tumbling, and a fourth in Ninja. Among other things, the $5 million expansion project will more than double the number of assisted living apartments at Hamilton Trace, located at 11851 Cumberland Road. The new total of 67 residences will consist of 32 new onebedroom apartments and five two-bedroom apartments.
