Austin Corcoran´s art can be compared with chamber music because of the elements´ intense interplay, well-defined, intimate, almost graphic composition and inner drama with contrasts between light and dark and harmony and splintered chaos. The virtuosity of the handling of the materials - acrylic, watercolour and graphite - with brushes and scrapers on the paper bring to surface unconscious associations and fantasies.
