If the proposed solutions to the left are implemented in the Academic Success Center, we predict the IROORZLQJ HDVH RI WUDYHO GLVWDQFHV DQG WLPHV IRU HDFK XVHU SURÂżOH

Upon studying the current conditions in the Academic Success Center, it is clear that the building fails in many of these strategic ZD\ÂżQGLQJ HOHPHQWV ,Q RUGHU IRU WKH $6& WR LPSURYH WKH XVHUÂśV ZD\ÂżQGLQJ H[SHULHQFH WKH EXLOGLQJ PXVW DFNQRZOHGJH DQG G update the 4 areas outlined below.

VISUAL ACCESS &XUUHQW YLVXDO DFFHVV WR WKH $FDGHPLF 6XFFHVV &HQWHU LV SUHWW\ HYLGHQW IURP WKH H[WHULRU RI WKH EXLOGLQJ 3DUWLFLSDQWV in the observational study were all successfully able to locate a main entrance for the building. The interior circulation space also presented a successful visual understanding of the whole building. At any point in the main circulation corridor, users were able to see each end of the building.

SIGNAGE AND ROOM NUMBERS PROBLEM: Moving through the building it soon becomes clear that there is a lack of signage. Every observed participant could not identify which direction they needed to take after entering a key decision node. There are some signs throughout the building that reveal what program happens on each level, but the signs lack th depth of understanding QHHGHG IRU XVHUV WR PDNH FRUUHFW ZD\ÂżQGLQJ GHFLVLRQV
