Tomorrowland at ADE 2024

Page 1

It’s always a joy to reconnect with the people who make Tomorrowland so special – artists, industry enthusiasts, and, of course, the People of Tomorrow. Whether it’s on the festival grounds or in the heart of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones is what makes any event unforgettable. As we gather to celebrate the music that unites us all, we are reminded that Tomorrowland is more than just a festival –it’s a global community.

This week, Tomorrowland invites you to explore its temporary home base at the Expo in De Rode Hoed, where a touch of the festival’s magic is brought to ADE. From immersive exhibits to exclusive experiences, the Expo is genuinely exciting during this anniversary year – whether you’re diving into the world of Tomorrowland Music, connecting with like-minded fans, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of Tomorrowland for the first time, there’s something there for everyone.

After the dust of ADE will have settled, Tomorrowland has many more events in store even beyond the Expo. As we look forward to what lies ahead, with this Tomorrowland Today edition, we try to provide a roadmap of everything there is to be discovered. And remember, it doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned festivalgoer or just discovering Tomorrowland for the first time; the spirit of unity, life, and music is what binds us all together!

This year, Tomorrowland is hosting two exciting events at Amsterdam Dance Event. First, Afterlife Amsterdam returns to the Ziggo Dome on October 16 & 17, where Tale Of Us and a line-up of like-minded artists will deliver a breathtaking journey. Afterlife’s essence is the combination of innovative visuals with high-quality sound, so expect the unexpected, but expect it to sound great. Then, on October 18, Tomorrowland celebrates 20 magical years with Our Story – a spectacular ride through two decades of the most iconic dance music, featuring the Symphony of Unity, a symphonic orchestra playing new arrangements of classic electronic tracks. Both events are sold out already, but ticketholders can look forward to a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, including an unannounced line-up full of surprises at Our Story.

coasting into happiness

A symbiosis of sound and dazzling high-speed action, the Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland is the very first extreme spinning coaster in Europe and was exclusively soundtracked by the festival. The Ride catapults its passengers to a speed of 90km/h no less than twice, as they go upside down five times in the process with cars rotating freely, delivering a different ride experience every time. Located in Plopsaland, a theme park near the Belgian-French Border, close to cities like Calais, Lille, and Ghent, the attraction has a total length of almost one kilometre and stands at a maximum of 35 metres above the ground. As such, the ride comes with exceptional views of the park and across the border into France!

innovation for the future

Lab of Tomorrow is Tomorrowland’s all-new incubator hub, designed to push the boundaries of entertainment technology. Located just a stone’s throw from the festival grounds in Belgium, the Lab offers 3,000 square meters of dynamic office space and six high-tech laboratories, making it Europe’s first innovation campus dedicated to entertainment tech. The Lab brings together startups, industry experts, and academics from around the globe, creating a dynamic, global community that co-creates the future of entertainment. Entrepreneurs, forward-thinking companies, and visionary researchers can find the tools and connections needed to transform ideas into reality. Applications for the Lab of Tomorrow are now open, and Tomorrowland has set out the call for creative spirits to be part of the next big wave in entertainment innovation. we are tomorrow

Following on last year’s We Are Tomorrow 2023 documentary, featuring the world’s #4 DJ Alok, a second volume was released on September 16th, telling the story of four people whose lives have become hugely intertwined by Tomorrowland over the past few years. One of them is Vintage Culture, an accomplished artist who, like Alok, hails from Brazil. The documentary also depicts ‘ordinary’ People of Tomorrow, such as Curtis and Stacey from the United Kingdom. Curtis states that returning to the festival after a motorcycle accident that nearly killed him was “pure ecstacy, just incredible.” Watch this documentary to get a grasp of how much the festival means to its biggest fans as well as its superstars!

one world artists: fostering musical careers

As a festival that aims to strengthen its relations year on year, Tomorrowland maintains friendly ties with many great international artists, and some of them have become part of the close-knit Tomorrowland family. These performers found their home with One World Artists, a booking & management agency that strives for exceptional career roadmaps and the best gigs for its family of DJs and producers. One shining example is Amber Broos: this dedicated ambassador of the Belgian rave sound has been steadily working on her talent for years, despite her tender age. One World Artists has worked very closely to support her over the past two years, with a 9-hour show in Antwerp’s

Waagnatie as an annually returning showcase. Empowering the promising artists of today and tomorrow with an expert team, One World Artists helps build their careers step by step, whether they are established names like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Lost Frequencies, ANNA, John Newman, Oscar and the Wolf, or Agents Of Time, or rising stars such as Andromedik, Samm, Henri PFR, Antdot, or MANDY. Whenever you next see an impressive show by an upcoming talent or one of those big names, chances are One World Artists has made it happen!

Tomorrowland Expo Amsterdam Dance Event 2024

Rode Hoed Keizersgracht 102 Amsterdam

Wednesday 10:00-17:00

Thursday-Saturday 10:00-20:00 Sunday 10:00-17:00

Over the course of its twenty-year existence, Tomorrowland has continued to grow in terms of line-up, amount of visitors, and influence on the global dance scene as a whole. Here’s a brief summary of notable events throughout the years.

Reading about all of Tomorrowland’s exploits in this edition of Tomorrowland Today is one thing, but seeing the magic with your own eyes is much better – both for longtime fans as well as completely new People of Tomorrow. Following last year’s Tomorrowland Expo at Rode Hoed in Amsterdam’s historic canal belt, the festival’s grandiose overview exhibition is back in the same venue, now for the full five-day duration of ADE.

As Tomorrowland celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year, there is plenty to learn about the festival’s journey over time, famously including the highly detailed worlds that the festival’s annual theme stories are set in. In addition, you will be invited to sample some of the most recent extracurricular activities of the brand, including the Elixir of Life perfume, a Tomorrowland x Ridley gravel bike, the now-beloved Solo Vida sparkling wine, and the first volume in a literary trilogy called ‘The Book of Wisdom’. At this unique exhibition, you are wholeheartedly invited to come discover and experience it all – from the music to the stories to the extras – for yourself.

The first edition in Belgium, featuring performances by artists like Armin van Buuren, Justice, Sasha & Sven Väth.
Tomorrowland first crosses the Atlantic: TomorrowWorld is held for three consecutive years at Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia.
More people than ever before visit the festival, which now goes on for two days: 120,000 People of Tomorrow are present.

the tomorrowland expo

Tomorrowland in Photographs

For a proper introduction to the sights, sounds, colours, and people that make Tomorrowland what it is, the photographic overview of its twenty-year history is the first thing you will want to see upon entering Rode Hoed. Besides a sense of the crowd’s one-of-a-kind sense of unity, and the artists’ furious energy, this part of the exhibition gives a great look into the festival’s other trademark feature: its out-of-this-world decoration. Quite literally, Tomorrowland explores a different fantasy world every year, as evidenced by the Mainstage design. Other stages across the festival grounds are decorated with the same eye for detail, often referring back to the themes of earlier years. Make sure to take in some of the themes that have mesmerised the People of Tomorrow throughout the years as they gazed upon the stage during their visits to the festival: stories about Life, Adscendo, The Reflection of Love, and the sunken city of Planaxis are etched into their minds forever.

The Book of Wisdom

Since a few years, Tomorrowland has been expanding on its theme stories in real-life books. Both 2023’s theme The Rise of Adscendo, in which a city takes flight to restore the balance between its inhabitants – both humans and birds – and 2024’s The Spirit of Life, a tale of the balance essential to nature, came with an official backstory novel. Yet as of this fall, Tomorrowland is taking their venture into the realm of fantasy novels one step further with the release of the first volume in the standalone trilogy The Book of Wisdom, entitled The Great Library of Tomorrow. Fans of

novel series like Lord of the Rings and The Hunger Games, as well as frequent visitors of the festival, will love how the book’s characters protect the values that are so important to the People of Tomorrow: to live today, love tomorrow and to unite forever. Should this proposition leave you intrigued – and if you love fantasy we think it will – you will be able to have an in-depth look at The Great Library of Tomorrow at the expo.

Tomorrowland Foundation

One of Tomorrowland’s core principles is that everyone around the world is a part of the People of Tomorrow and deserves the same chances in life, and this belief is made tangible by the various projects of the Tomorrowland Foundation. This organisation supports non-profit initiatives that give vulnerable children and youngsters the chance to express themselves creatively through music, dance and art, and through that work on their self-esteem. This year’s projects have included the opening of a third Music & Arts School, and support for several local projects including capoeira lessons near the site of Tomorrowland Brasil in São Paulo province. Look out for the Tomorrowland Foundation display at the expo to find out more about its projects and explore their newest Live, Love, Unite toolkit.

Tomorrowland X Caliverse

First announced during CES 2024 in Las Vegas, Tomorrowland has teamed up with Caliverse to usher in a next-generation metaverse festival, where Tomorrowland’s stages come to life

through state-of-the-art 3D graphics in an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) environment. At the expo, you’ll be offered some unique sneak peeks into this wholly new way of engaging with festival audiences worldwide.

Music of Life

If after viewing so much Tomorrowland with your eyes, you’re wondering about the soundtrack to all of this magic, you shouldn’t leave the expo without immersing yourself into the sounds of Tomorrowland Music, the festival’s official record label. Head over to the listening station for a preview of the Symphony of Unity LP, featuring Hans Zimmer’s Tomorrowland Hymn, slated for release in the spring of 2025. You can also check out one of Tomorrowland Music’s compilation releases.

The Tomorrowland 360 Wall

You’ve gathered as much: Tomorrowland started out as and remains a music festival at its core, but has gradually become a much broader platform for music fans around the world, not just once or twice a year but every single day. The Tomorrowland 360 Wall will give you a great overview of Tomorrowland’s activities from organising events and releasing music to creating fragrances, engaging in charity, the protection of the environment, providing culinary experiences, and much more.

Catering to 400,000 people, tickets to Tomorrowland’s two weekends sell out within an hour.
LIFE is the theme of Tomorrowland Belgium’s anniversary edition, which runs for two joy-filled weekends. Here’s to the next twenty years!

DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH AFROJACK, AMBER BROOS, HARDWELL, AND ARMIN VAN BUUREN

Tomorrowland is full of little stories – not least on the part of the artists, who get to shine on stage and off as they meet their peers and fans. Here, new connections are made, new musical directions taken; for many, it’s a very important gig. Twenty years into Tomorrowland’s existence, getting four artists who are at the very heart of the festival together for a roundtable discussion only seems appropriate. Afrojack, Dutch house producer from the first hour, Amber Broos, known for her blend of techno and old school Belgian rave, and Armin van Buuren, arguably the biggest name in trance, all represent different scenes, but are united in their love for the festival along with Hardwell, fan favourite from the first hour. So what are their top Tomorrowland memories when it comes to music, connecting with others and getting inspired?

Welcome everyone! We’re looking forward to hearing about your experiences throughout the years. Let’s talk about friendships to begin with. You’ve all become artists because you love music through and through, and everyone else you meet at Tomorrowland feels the same way. What can you say about the interactions you have had with other artists at the festival? Have they resulted in friendships and collaborations?

Armin: “The artists I meet at Tomorrowland are mostly people I already know or have collaborated with, but it’s amazing to see them work their magic and inspire others, myself included. It’s always great catching up with them too, because it has often been the final push in hitting the studio together. I joined Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike on stage a few times to play our tracks together and that was always special.”

Afrojack: “Adding to that, what I also love is the backstage artist area where part of the magic is seeing Keinemusik, Tiësto and yourself, Armin, getting involved in the same conversation.”

Amber: “Being much younger than you two, for me being at the festival comes with the chance to meet people I’ve always admired. I’ve built some amazing connections with other DJs and musicians. Last year, I hosted my own stage, which gave me the opportunity to invite some artists to play at Tomorrowland for the very first time. Being able to support and showcase other talents in that way is something I’m really passionate about.”

Tomorrowland is obviously also a place where you’ll see a lot of people perform. Has seeing other artists play at Tomorrowland ever inspired you?

Afrojack: “Unity is one of the main themes at Tomorrowland. Everyone goes to support everyone’s sets and we all go to enjoy the magic of the Mainstage, its soundsystem and stage design. This year I got very inspired by a new artist called Parisi, and I also saw David Guetta’s set at the Mainstage. It was such a big closing and it included so much musical history!”

Amber: “I’ve seen beautiful and emotional sets by Kölsch, raved hard during Reinier Zonneveld’s set, and then went to something completely different like a drum & bass set by Andromedik. These were all completely different kinds of performances, but each one was insightful in its own way. It’s fascinating to see how different genres and approaches move the crowd and it’s definitely influenced the way I think about my own sets.”

Armin: “I totally agree. I love watching other artists, checking out which tracks they select for a specific moment, and seeing how they keep the crowd involved.”

Hardwell: “But that comes with a bit of healthy competition. Knowing the amount of time and effort everyone puts in has always driven me to go the extra mile to make my set stand out. Every artist who plays at Tomorrowland wants the fans to look back at the festival and remember their set.”

You are all familiar with Tomorrowland Academy, the festival’s talent development program. How important is mentoring new talent for you? Have you ever engaged in mentoring yourself?

Armin: “Everyone has had a mentor in one way or another, myself included. It’s important because it helps a new generation to rise and it also means that dance music can continue to evolve.”

Afrojack: “Agreed! Together with Tomorrowland, I launched the WALL PRO Academy, which is sort of an advanced class for those who have already been doing music for a while.”

Amber: “My dad, who is also a DJ, started something similar a while ago. It’s called Begin to DJ. After a while, I also began to tutor children in DJing, which turned out to be a very fulfilling and rewarding experience. It was truly the best student job I ever had.”

that happen for children and young adults who have been less fortunate in life. I visited the Foundation’s projects in India and it was overwhelming!”

Hardwell: “I’ve always loved the way Tomorrowland sets the scene of the festival from the moment fans get off the plane at the airport. The decision to partner with Brussels Airlines, branding not just the airplanes but also a whole terminal in the airport, is such a cool extension of the festival’s global identity.”

Amber Broos: “For me it’s also the Tomorrowland Foundation. I had the privilege of working with them on a new project in collaboration with an organisation called Mobile School. The fact that they are supporting such impactful and meaningful projects that help children grow and learn is something I deeply admire. It shows that the festival’s heart goes far beyond music. They are very much about making a real difference in the world.”

What has been your absolute personal highlight from 20 years of Tomorrowland?

Hardwell: “When I first started out, there wasn’t really much on offer for kids seeking a start in the dance scene. I didn’t have a DJ dad, unfortunately! But that is why these days, I love supporting and helping new talent and it’s something I get deeply involved in with my label, Revealed.”

Can you mention a recent development regarding the festival that you find remarkable?

Armin: “I personally feel the Tomorrowland Foundation is amazing! I believe being able to creatively express yourself is fundamentally important, and I think it’s great that Tomorrowland is trying to make

Armin: “That’s getting to announce the birth of my son at Tomorrowland in Belgium, in 2013, in front of a huge crowd of people. Being able to share something so personal with such an amazing crowd is an unparalleled experience.”

Afrojack: “That must have been a very special moment, Armin! I think my personal highlight has to be Avicii playing the Mainstage during the day. He played right after me and I remember me, NERVO, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike just watching him play and really

enjoying it. It reminds me of how friendly and loving our industry is.”

Hardwell: “With Tomorrowland every year is special, so there’s been plenty of standout moments, but there was just something different about my 2022 set with my ‘REBELS NEVER DIE’ show and the new sound I was presenting. It felt like nothing else I’d felt before up on that stage, and the fans’ support that night was fantastic.”

Amber: “My absolute favourite memory is surely the first time I ever played at the festival, at the Freedom stage. Before that, I hadn’t even been able to attend because I wasn’t old enough yet, and then, after COVID, everything just lined up perfectly. I was finally the right age and not only could I go, but I got to perform there. It was truly an unforgettable moment, one that I shared with my closest friends and family. On that day, I could feel the overwhelming love and excitement from the crowd and it felt like everything in my journey had led to that moment.”

LIVE TODAY, LOVE TOMORROW, UNITE FOREVER WHEREVER YOU ARE!

Festivals remain the beating heart of Tomorrowland, even as the brand ventures into new territories like the Immersive Experience, apparel, and many other activities. It all began in Boom, Belgium, but the Tomorrowland magic now spans the globe, from the snow-capped peaks of Alpe d’Huez, France, to the vibrant energy of São Paulo, Brazil. Though these festivals may be miles apart, the magic that fills Tomorrowland’s air is always the same: wherever you find yourself, you’ll be surrounded by familiar faces, kindred spirits, and a shared passion for music that, quite literally, transcends borders.

TOMORROWLAND BELGIUM

the beating heart of tomorrowland

In 2005, a new era of festivals began in the quiet town of Boom, Belgium, as Tomorrowland held its first edition. With just one day and a single stage, it was the start of something much bigger. Even in those early days, the festival’s iconic Mainstage stood tall, hinting at the journey to come. Over the years, Tomorrowland Belgium evolved, expanding to two weekends and welcoming more than 400,000 People of Tomorrow from over 200 nationalities.

What sets Tomorrowland Belgium apart is its role as the birthplace of Tomorrowland’s signature themes. While magical stories like The Book of Wisdom and Adscendo come to life across all Tomorrowland festivals, they are often introduced in Boom, where the festival’s deep connection to storytelling continues to inspire. Each edition brings a new chapter that captivates festival-goers and immerses them in a unique atmosphere.

Though Tomorrowland has expanded globally, Boom remains the cornerstone of its journey. The magic that began here two decades ago continues to evolve, offering a sense of belonging that resonates deeply with those who return to the place where it all began.

TOMORROWLAND BRASIL a return to passion
“Tomorrowland is where people come to genuinely connect with others, to create a parallel, more beautiful world.”
- Alok

Ten years after its Belgian debut, Tomorrowland answered the call of a booming electronic music scene in Brazil. In 2015, the magic made its way to São Paulo, a city known for its vibrant energy and passion for music. Held in the lush Parque Maeda, just outside the city, Tomorrowland Brasil quickly became a sensation. With stages surrounded by beautiful andscapes and endless sunshine, it offered an unforgettable experience for those seeking the festival’s signature magic with a Brazilian twist.

The return of Tomorrowland Brasil in 2023, after a seven-year hiatus, was met with unparalleled excitement. “The anticipation was like nothing I’ve ever seen,” recalls ANNA, one of Brazil’s top techno artists. “There’s a raw energy in Brazil that you don’t find anywhere else. When Tomorrowland came back, the crowd’s response was electric – it was like welcoming back an old friend.”

From local legends like Alok, Vintage Culture, and Cat Dealers, to international headliners like Armin van Buuren and Steve Aoki, Tomorrowland Brasil has established itself as a unique fusion of global and Brazilian music cultures. the magic of music in the snow
“You could be skiing down a slope in the morning, then hours later, you’re dancing in the snow, surrounded by people from all over the world.”

- Lost Frequencies

After the tropical heat of Brazil, Tomorrowland ventured into an entirely different landscape – the French Alps. Launched in 2019, Tomorrowland Winter brought the festival to the snowy peaks of Alpe d’Huez, combining the world of electronic music with the thrill of winter sports. Imagine skiing through pristine powder by day and dancing under the stars by night, surrounded by snow-capped mountains!

“There’s something magical about Tomorrowland Winter,” says Lost Frequencies, who has played at every edition of the winter festival. “You could be skiing down a slope in the morning, then hours later, you’re dancing in the snow, surrounded by people from all over the world. It’s a community that exists not just on the dancefloor but on the ski slopes too.”

With stages set at altitudes ranging from 2,000 to 3,300 meters, Tomorrowland Winter offers a festival experience unlike any other. The breathtaking views of the French Alps, coupled with the festival’s immersive atmosphere, create a sense of awe and wonder. symphony of unity

PERFORMING LIVE AT OUR STORY

What happens when a symphony orchestra takes on the propulsive energy of electronic dance music? The result is the Symphony of Unity, a unique Tomorrowland creation that blends classical instruments with some of EDM’s most epic anthems. Imagine violins soaring through synths, cellos harmonising with bass drops, and brass sections building the kind of tension you’d expect in a festival headliner’s set. This certainly isn’t your typical orchestral performance.

Conducted by Kevin Houben, the Symphony of Unity has redefined how festival favourites can be experienced. Under his baton, the orchestra breathes new life into electronic classics, giving them even more depth, emotion, and a powerful symphonic twist. The result is a performance that will resonate with fans of classical music and dance music alike.

This week, at Amsterdam Dance Event, the Symphony of Unity will take center stage during the sold-out Our Story show, celebrating 20 years of Tomorrowland. As they perform alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music, the orchestra will turn timeless festival anthems into orchestral masterpieces. Ahead of the performance, Kevin Houben shares some of his thoughts on how these two worlds come together.

Kevin, what exactly is the Symphony of Unity?

“After the Hymn was written by Hans Zimmer on behalf of Tomorrowland, the idea arose to have this composition played by a live symphony orchestra.

Since 2015, we have been working with a creative team to further develop this. Iconic dance tracks were given a cinematic arrangement and provided with an extra long build-up and colorful orchestrations.”

Symphony of Unity performances in 2024:

• Tomorrowland Belgium (two weekends)

• Tomorrowland Brasil

• Our Story, Amsterdam Dance Event

What can the audience expect from the Symphony of Unity performance at ADE?

“We will bring a big show with 75 classical musicians based on iconic dance tracks. In addition, there are extra guest acts that will accompany us on this magical evening.”

What does the orchestra look like on stage?

“There are a total of 55 musicians, playing strings, horns, trombones, trumpets, harp, piano, and percussion. This orchestra is supplemented by a choir consisting of 20 singers.”

How many times have you performed with the orchestra for Tomorrowland?

“Since 2015, I have been closely involved as an orchestrator, selecting and arranging music together with the creative team. In 2019 I had the privilege of assisting some rehearsals, and since 2023 I have had the honour of conducting the performances myself. I try to do this with all the passion and energy I can muster, and I enjoy it immensely together with all the musicians.”

What story is being told through the music of the Symphony of Unity?

“We want to move people, inspire them, let them dream, bring recognisable melodies in a different version. Party, energy, dancing – we connect on all levels between guest artists, the choir and the orchestra. We want to give everyone a wonderful evening!”

IGNITE THE FUTURE WITH THE TOMORROWLAND FOUNDATION

The Tomorrowland Foundation is a worldwide initiative that supports independent non-profit organizations working with vulnerable children. The aim is to collectively establish Music & Arts Schools and Mobile Schools all around the world, as well as strengthen local initiatives aimed at creative education. These initiatives give children the opportunity to unlock their talents through music, dance and art. The Tomorrowland Foundation is convinced that being able to express oneself creatively is essential for the personal development of children, and that it’s a core means of (re)gaining a positive self-image.

THE ARCHITECTS OF TOMORROW

Kids and youngsters are the architects of tomorrow and it’s up to us to help them reach their full potential. The Tomorrowland Foundation is on a mission to make this dream a reality. This year, as the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary, the Foundation is also marking significant milestones since its inception in 2016. It all began with the opening of the first Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School in the remote mountains of Nepal in the autumn of 2018. Since then, the organisation’s impact has continued to grow. In 2022, a second Music & Arts School was inaugurated in Kolkata, India, and a third school in Itu, Brazil, opened last week.

BUILDING ESSENTIAL LIFE SKILLS WITH JOIN FOR JOY

Recently, the Tomorrowland Foundation teamed up with Join for Joy, an NGO bringing the magic of music, dance, and arts to kids in thirty schools across Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, and Uganda. This nonprofit organization serves 34,500 children and is focused on working with rural kids in these East African countries, helping them to discuss social themes through expressive arts and building essential life skills. “Music not only brings joy to my classroom but also serves as a tool for practising regular school subjects. For example, we use the drums to enhance our maths lessons, by calculating to the beat of the drums,” says Sharon Malakata of the Palabana Community School in Chongwe, Zambia, which takes part in the Join for Joy project.

MOBILE SCHOOL

The Tomorrowland Foundation has an ongoing collaboration with Mobile School, an organisation focused on educating street kids around the world. Mobile schools are extendable blackboards on wheels, which come with more than 250 educational panels, working on themes such as creative therapy, reading and writing, health, hygiene, and social skills. Once a mobile school arrives in an area with street children, the blackboard slides open to create a two-sided 6-meter long educational tool, helping the street educators to interact with the children. Mobile School is active in no less than 38 countries. And the cherry on top this year? The Tomorrowland Foundation has just launched a toolkit developed by Mobile School and inspired by the essential Tomorrowland values: LIVE.LOVE.UNITE. These values are embodied in fun, interactive games represented by twelve DJ Ambassadors, including NERVO, Armin van Buuren, Lost Frequencies, Afrojack, Kölsch, Gordo, Netsky, Amber Broos, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Andromedik, and MATTN. These DJ Ambassadors will help unlock and empower the potential of young people worldwide in a playful and engaging way. And it’s not just the kids reached by the 65 Mobile Schools who get to join in. The Live, Love, Unite toolkit is available for everyone to download for free, via the QR code below.

DO SOMETHING GOOD TODAY, THAT TOMORROW WILL THANK YOU FOR

FUNDING THE FOUNDATION

Of course, the Foundation requires funding to support all of the projects that it has going on worldwide. An important part of the money comes directly from People of Tomorrow wanting to contribute to a better life for kids everywhere. Here are just a few of the key funding sources:

The Foundation Fashion Collection

Fashion is a big part of the Tomorrowland way of life, and 100% of the profit made on the flowery Foundation Collection goes to Foundation projects. The items are available both on-site and online; whoever wants to support can choose between various hoodies and t-shirts, a belt bag, laptop sleeve, makeup bag, and tote bag. The Foundation Collection can be found through store.tomorrowland.com.

Top-up bracelets

When topping up their Tomorrowland bracelet with credit or requesting a refund, visitors have the opportunity to donate their Pearls, the official Tomorrowland currency. By doing so they support the Tomorrowland Foundation.

Tomorrowland Restaurant

Each year, a Tomorrowland Restaurant is built looking out over the Tomorrowland Mainstage. Here, an exclusive dinner created by a world-class team of chefs is served to a select group of visitors, who will have prebooked a table. A donation to the Tomorrowland Foundation is included in the price for this culinary experience.

Guest tickets

All guest tickets require a mandatory contribution to charity. All proceeds of these tickets go towards the Tomorrowland Foundation.

Our Story

The full proceeds of Tomorrowland’s Our Story event held at Ziggo Dome this week are also donated to the Foundation.

AT THE CORE

OF IT ALL

“WE NOW HAVE A FOLLOWING WHO TRUST US WHEREVER WE TAKE THEM.”

Every visitor of Tomorrowland loves the CORE stage, an intimate open-air club in the forest with a distinct spiritual vibe. It emerged as somewhat of an oddity in 2017, on the periphery of Tomorrowland’s Holy Grounds. The original stage design – a uniquely recognisable human face – got a makeover in 2024 and continues to exude a rare kind of serenity. Over the past few years, CORE has grown into a community project with a record label and events all over the world, only loosely connected to its mother festival. Through these events, the platform connects to local scenes, including CORE festival editions in Mexico and Colombia. These in turn have led to tangible offshoots, such as music compilations featuring the most promising artists from these respective territories. More than anything, CORE’s allround infrastructure allows for much more than just booking artists; it serves as a base from which the original spirit of underground house music spreads all over the world, not only to clubs, but also to domestic soundsystems in the fans’ own homes. CORE, in other words, allows for connections between people who have the same outlook on life and art, even if they may not know each other personally.

CORE IN A NUTSHELL

With adventurous house music at its musical heart, CORE – a festival, stage, radio show and record label all at once – branches off into different subgenres with both internationally renowned acts as well as new talents. CORE aims to combine incredible dance floor experiences with facilitating music discovery, introducing music fans to upcoming artists that they will come to appreciate for the rest of their lives.

OUT NOW ON CORE RECORDS

On the record label side of things, it has been an exciting year for CORE, not least thanks to work with Glaswegian producer of disco-infused house music, Denis Sulta. September 6th saw the release of the incredibly festive track ‘M.O.A.’, his second on the label over a short period of time. ‘Jaguar Jaguar’ by Belgian duo Mosley Jr. is another recent addition to the label’s discography. The vintage computer game-inspired track follows on 2023’s ‘Lonestar Retreat’. It’s just another example of what CORE keeps on doing every day: building meaningful and longterm relationships with the artists they love the most. Check it all out at corerecords.bandcamp.com.

AN INVITATION TO EXPERIMENT

The name CORE refers to going back to the origins of the festival, to the very core of it, which is forward-thinking house music and club culture. “We are now able to add new techniques and insights to these original elements, so we are really enjoying the best of both worlds,” the people behind CORE explain. “The great thing about being relatively small is that we can move into new directions very quickly. We are like a playground where artists are wholeheartedly invited to experiment in any way they can think of.” In essence, CORE is an adventure within an adventure. Visitors to the Mainstage of Tomorrowland, for instance, may be intrigued to find out more about the musical roots of the world’s biggest artists. CORE facilitates this neverending quest of discovery.

LET IT SINK IN SLOWLY

DJs playing at CORE take their crowds on a musical journey, and they’re at their best when playing unusual but ultimately thrilling sets. “Fortunately, we now have a following who trusts us wherever we take them. Take that unique house set that Nina Kraviz once played for us – it remains one of her very best sets ever. And this summer we had legendary British producer Bonobo curate a house music programme for us.” Such adventurous sounds may take a while to sink in, though, and Tomorrowland invites anyone who visits a CORE stage or event to take things in slowly. “Taking your time to appreciate the larger arc of a day at CORE is very rewarding. You will always discover unusual things here, and it may take a while to get into that deep groove. This kind of thing works best if you start checking out sets at the stage early on during the day. Then, you will see how it all connects with the last few hours, when it’s generally the curators themselves who play the stage. It’s during these hours that things come full circle, it’s the grand finale. A finale that happens every single day, mind you. CORE is where you’ll experience the ultimate dancefloor euphoria – it is where sound, lights and special effects playfully co-create something that’s just hard to describe.”

CORE FESTIVAL RETURNS TO MEDELLÍN

Following the huge success of CORE in Medellín last May, which featured mind-blowing performances by BICEP, Brina Knauss, Elif, Kevin de Vries, Kilimanjaro, and Mind Against to the backdrop of an incredible audiovisual performance, the festival will return to the Colombian city on 14 and 15 February 2025. Is this the perfect musical winter getaway for you? Tickets for this two-day event at the Parque Norte start from $491.500 COP and are on sale now via core.world.

DINO LENNY - SPEAKING FOR CORE ON ONE WORLD RADIO

Always cheerful, knowledgeable, and energetic, accomplished Italian DJ Dino Lenny is the perfect host for the CORE show on One World Radio, which is broadcast every last Sunday of the month. Besides playing the best new underground house music, this great selector talks to exciting new names that keep popping up on the CORE radar. Recent guests on the show have included Âme, fka.m4a, Andot & Maz, and Krystal Klear.

love tomorrow

Founded within the Tomorrowland organisation, Love Tomorrow is built on two fundamental pillars: first, direct impact, achieved by initiating sustainability projects that transform Tomorrowland into a sustainable event; and second, inspiration, brought to life through storytelling, diverse events, and a vibrant community

Rooted in a belief that life itself and a shared planet are worth celebrating, Tomorrowland is committed to sustained introspection and with that, an unwavering dedication to the future. With the ongoing objective to minimise the environmental impact, the importance of joy and celebrating together should not be ignored. That is why it was decided to add to the three P’s of sustainability; in addition to people - profit - planet, the ambition is to bring pleasure, too. Tomorrowland aims to inspire and connect people globally through unique experiences that bring magic and positivity, with the ultimate mission of bringing together the four P’s harmoniously.

In 2024, the third edition of the Love Tomorrow conference gathered over 6000 attendees at De Schorre in Boom, becoming an annual highlight. It brings together expert speakers to share their visions on a range of topics, from technology to nature, health, and much more. It also features a magical evening show, DJ sets, a job fair, and networking opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to inspiring a brighter future.

SILVYRA • THE REALM OF LUSH NATURE

This year’s theme for Tomorrowland Belgium was LIFE. A story set in the mythical realm of Silvyra, fuelled by the ancient force of the cosmos, this will no doubt represent another mind-bending chapter in the greater story of Tomorrowland. But how did Silvyra come to be? This is the story behind the story, a peek behind the curtain where the magic is made.

THE WORLD OF SILVYRA

Silvyra is a world unto its own, filled with creatures, plant life, and people living in harmony, each with their own stories. Discover the diversity of Silvyran nature represented in the Mainstage.

Petrians

Creatures who guard the Hidden Vale. They are living stone, and incredibly strong. Their remains can be found in the forest like statues overgrown with moss, returning to the earth. They are highly intelligent and sensitive, creating beautiful rock art on the walls of the deep caverns they inhabit. They are an open and caring race.

The Mycelium

The mycelium is the balancing force in the realm of Silvyra. Taking the form of a network of mushrooms and underground fungi, it is able to travel and communicate with living beings all over the realm.

Aedela

Aedela is a peaceful, prosperous city dedicated to the cultivation of flowers of every kind. Its architecture mirrors the natural world around them and is very colourful. It is set on the shores of a lake and uses the water for a complex irrigation system.

2016

The return of a familiar tale

For this year’s theme Tomorrowland returns to the realm of ‘The Elixir of Life’ (2016) to explore the origin of this famous potion that heals all ailments of the mind and body. In 2016, the story of the Great Tree and the Maze was told, but now we move back in time to an era long before the Elixir.

The Seed of Life is the guiding philosophy of the people of the Great Tree. It is a holistic theory of nature and science, of oneness and balance. It is often represented as a flower comprised of eight circles with six central petals, representing values central to the Silvyran way of life.

GRAPHICS

“A creative process inspired by nature”

From the logotype to the typeface and graphic shapes, all elements for this theme were inspired by the intricate patterns, textures, and forms found in nature, merging organic beauty with practicality.

Translating these natural forms into a design involves a process that maintains the essence of nature while also telling our story. The result is a harmonious blend of the natural world’s elegance, and the fantastical elements of Silvyra.

FICTION

“The Spirit of Life”

Experience the extraordinary tale behind the Mainstage like never before with ‘The Spirit of Life’, a captivating fantasy adventure novel that unveils the complete origin of the Tomorrowland 2024 theme. Explore the world behind the Mainstage and the intriguing characters that reside there. From the lush nature of Aedela to the depths of the Petrian caves, immerse yourself in this literary journey and unlock the ultimate festival experience.

This beautiful hardcover limited edition book can be purchased exclusively at the Tomorrowland Stores.

STAGE DESIGN + ATELIER

Craftsmanship in every leaf

The creative process behind the conception of the Mainstage is no easy feat. For over 2 years from first sketches to production, the in-house creative department worked tirelessly with passion and dedication. From the first concept sketches to 3D modeling and sculpting to production, every step is equally important to the final product.

To have full control over the entire process, all steps are handled in-house, from the design by the 3D department to execution by the Tomorrowland Atelier.

TOMORROWLAND PRESENTS:

ATMOSPHERE

High-energy hardtechno, all night long

With hardtechno more popular than ever, Tomorrowland is bringing the sound to a whole new environment, linking up with its global movement with the inaugural edition of Tomorrowland presents: Atmosphere in Antwerp’s Waagnatie venue on November 22nd. Their mission? To surpass barriers and to contribute to the global techno community through the unifying power of music. With a line-up that includes some of the biggest names in the hardtechno genre such as Nico Moreno, Alignment, Azyr and Helena Lauwaert, this brand-new concept is off to a flying start.

A fan favourite among People of Tomorrow from around the world, the Atmosphere stage has been an established name at the Belgian edition of the festival for years now. Its massive custom-made tent caters to thousands of party people, serving techno music in its most relentless forms. Setting a new trajectory for a once niche music genre with the first edition of Tomorrowland Presents: Atmosphere, Tomorrowland continues down the road that the original Atmosphere started to take several years ago, as the lifting of lockdown restrictions left a new generation of dancers with only one desire: to go as hard as possible.

The high-energy rhythms of hardtechno

Hardtechno, characterized by its relentlessly slamming beats and high-energy rhythms, has emerged as the new face of techno over the past few years. Taking elements from the original techno sound from the Detroit-Berlin axis, but blending it with the sound design of hardstyle and hardcore, hardtechno really is the sound of a new generation of ravers. Having saved up so much energy during the pandemic years quite naturally led to the aggressive, distorted, and raw sounds of hardtechno. Set to faster BPMs ranging from 140 to 160, the composition of hardtechno also represents a break from the original sound of the mother genre: rather than building slowly, hardtechno comes to the point abruptly, with shorter runtimes, sudden drops, and rapid-fire switch-ups.

“It’s not just about playing tracks; it’s about crafting moments that resonate and stick with people long after the night is over.” - Nico Moreno

An invitation to explore new sounds

French DJ/producer Nico Moreno, prominently featured on the line-up for the night at Waagnatie, acknowledges the fact that hardtechno builds on rave traditions from the past. However, he feels it’s only made better by combining the most energetic elements of several sources of inspiration: “Mixing different styles allows me to take the audience on a unique journey – it is a chance to surprise people and create a memorable experience they didn’t expect. I love the challenge of blending genres, keeping fans on their toes, making them feel both comfortable and excited to explore new sounds. It’s not just about playing tracks; it’s about crafting moments that resonate and stick with people long after the night is over.”

Tomorrowland will take the hardtechno madness of Nico Moreno, Alignment, Azyr, Byørn b2b Bido, Helena Lauwaert, Holy Priest, and Novah to the raw and industrial architecture of Waagnatie Antwerp during a spectacular all-night-long event with a breathtaking production, as the festival invites each artist to bring their unique style and passion to the stage, keeping the energy levels high from start to finish. Atmosphere is where the magic of Tomorrowland and the energy of hardtechno come together in an outburst of energetic synergy that is just meant to be.

the great library of tomorrow

A STORY TO CONNECT ALL OF TOMORROWLAND’S WORLDS

Tomorrowland is unique within the festival scene for setting every edition in a meticulously fleshed-out fantasy world. Every year’s Mainstage is different, a reflection of a story developed years in advance, and brought to life by performances and shows that invite visitors to dive deeper into the underlying mythology. For the past two years, they have been able to do so to a whole new extent with the introduction of Tomorrowland’s festival backstory books, ‘The Rise of Adscendo’ and ‘The Spirit of Life’. These books have received global acclaim from the People of Tomorrow and literary critics alike. This year, literary-minded festivalgoers as well as fantasy fans in general will be treated to even more stories, however: the creators of the festival are taking their fabled realms, including Silvyra, to the here and now in the first part of the long-awaited ‘Book of Wisdom’ trilogy. The first book, entitled ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’, invites the reader to explore places that they will recognise from the themes of Tomorrowland’s past.

‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ starts with an alarming observation: Perennia, the Rose Garden’s mythical dragon, has gone missing, and her natural habitat is on fire. There is a sense of panic, but no need to despair: Helia, the Great Library’s Sage of Hope, and her nine spirited fellow Sages are determined to protect the realm. Finding the Book of Wisdom that normally guides them eerily silent, they embark on a quest to defeat the suspected perpetrator, a dark entity known as the Ash Man.

A thrilling novel in and of itself, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ is rooted in the values that are so important to the People of Tomorrow: to live today, love tomorrow, and unite forever. In the book, unity, hope, love, and nature are under threat, but with the Sages on the side of the good, defeat is nowhere near. Carrying flames of positivity, they passionately unite to fight the forces of evil. The ten Sages, who will become close to your heart as you submerge yourself in a story that can stand with the greatest works written in the genre, carry the true Tomorrowland spirit.

The trilogy marks a oneof-a-kind global collaboration with publishers everywhere, allowing readers around the world to explore the Tomorrowland universe like never before. – A PREVIEW –

In case you’ve gotten curious about ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’, below is an exclusive excerpt from the book, in which protagonist Dzin is preparing for a milestone moment…

It was late at the heart of Silvyra, the Great Tree. As Dzin reached up to pin the end of the vine with glowing berries to the top of the shelf, he felt the stool wobble underneath him. His lanky black hair fell over his eyes, and his elbow accidentally nudged a stack of research papers. The crinkle of the paper reminded him again that his own work still sat quietly on his desk on the other side of the room. He’d been staring at his formula proudly all afternoon, twirling his beloved walking staff in his hands, enjoying the sheer joy and relief at having managed to get it right. His very own formula for the Elixir of Life! All the hard work had paid off ; he’d undertaken this labour of love to apply the philosophy of the Seed of Life, which all botanists—and prospective Runners in particular—held sacred. Now he just needed to remember to put the scroll in his shirt pocket ready for tomorrow’s ceremony. It was the one thing needed to complete the ritual—the scroll handed from student to teacher to prove he was ready to become a Runner.

It would be just like him to forget it and turn up empty-handed.

“Concentrate, Dzin,” Monae urged as the vine almost fell from his grasp. “A Runner’s focus always needs to be switched on. How else do you think they locate the ingredients the refinery needs for the Elixir? They must have the keenest concentration, a mind like a pollen trap, always ready to catch whatever clues to resources they might happen across.”

Monae’s eyebrow was raised as she looked up from where she stood watching him. Her blueberry-coloured eyes scoured the length of the vine, judging the distance between the illuminated berries to make sure they were even and perfect.

“Rot and canker, Monae, I am concentrating! Besides, we haven’t even graduated yet, and I’m not searching across the realm right now, am I? Can’t you give me a night off ?”

She harrumphed good-naturedly, and he did as she asked anyway. Monae always liked everything just so, and while his arm hurt from hanging the ornaments and lights, Dzin understood her excitement.

They’d already decorated the extensive leaf-roofed gazebo outside the front of the laboratory. This was where the party would burst into life the next day around the specially carved centrepiece—a circle of figures representing the five graduating students, each chiseled and sculpted from golden heartwood by the finest Silvyran craftswomen. Monae had then decided to use the leftover ornaments and lights to brighten up the inside of the laboratory too. And why not? Their friends and family would be here to celebrate.

Dzin had experienced the festivities before, of course, as the whole Great Tree celebrated the achievement of the students. But now he would be the focus of the celebration, as one of the students themselves. It meant everything to him to be embraced by his community in such a way. To feel their pride and to know he had done something of worth with his life, as his parents had always wanted. As he had always wanted.

It hadn’t always been easy. He hated that his journey here had almost come apart, and he’d almost let himself be thrown from the path, spiraling into his usual panic. Yet, with a little help, he had rallied. Overcome the obstacles. And he had made it.

two decades of uniting forever

It really is hard to fathom: Tomorrowland, one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals, turned twenty this year. Besides the everpulsating grooves, it is the eternal spirit of kindness engrained in the festival grounds, the enormous energy, and the birth of many friendships that draws the People of Tomorrow to the event time and time again. As the festival celebrates its anniversary this year, let’s take a moment to reflect on where Tomorrowland has come from and on how things are getting better every time around.

Tomorrowland started as a one-day festival in 2005 at De Schorre in Belgium, where the festival still returns every year to this day. 9000 lucky ravers were able to tell their children: I was there, at the very first edition of Tomorrowland. Two decades down the line, the festival has become one of the go-to destinations for music-loving holidaymakers. They are facilitated by Global Journey Travel Packages, which allow people from every corner of the world to travel to the event in style, dropping in to various party hubs across Europe or even taking a fully decked-out Party Train or Party Flight. If you love dance music, then Tomorrowland and the journey there are likely to be part of your personal bucket list.

The themes and the Mainstage Tomorrowland’s very first theme saw the light in 2009. It was mostly reflected in the design of the Mainstage, but felt all across all of the festival. Since then, The Book of Wisdom, The Elixir of Life, The Story of Planaxis, and this summer’s LIFE have been only a few of the highlights. The thematic approach is, in fact, at the heart of the Tomorrowland experience. The journey starts early, with the unboxing of one’s ticket: inside the beautifully-designed box is not only a festival bracelet, but also a hint of what the festival will look like this year. It is tiny teasers like these that encourage more than a handful of People of Tomorrow to dress according to the expected theme.

The shows

Of course, there have been countless gigs and top-notch shows over the years, and each and every raver will have their own personal highlights. There are some key moments, however, that people still talk about every now and then… Swedish House Mafia’s last performance before their hiatus in 2013 for instance, ranks highly on many people’s lists for its monumental quality, and so do the numerous Mainstage performances by the magic Martin Garrix. Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike’s anthems and their outrageously entertaining shows will never be forgotten, and on the other end of the spectrum, the same goes for Agents Of Time, Keinemusik and Nina Kraviz’ highly experimental yet irresistible appearances behind the decks.

The Flags

Bringing a flag is the thing to do at Tomorrowland. It’s festive, shows your dedication – you’ve travelled far – and there is no easier way to spot fellow citizens of your country than by taking a good look at their colours. Flags make it easier to meet people and show how international this festival has really become over the years. There is only one flag that’s even more special than the national flags: the iconic official Tomorrowland flag.

Tomorrowland as a 360 way of life

There’s never been a better time to be alive than today for those who love Tomorrowland through and through. Tomorrowland sets and interview highlights are now available all year long via One World Radio. For anyone wanting to get even closer to the sound of Tomorrowland, there’s a whole discography of works to check out from Tomorrowland Music, the festival’s very own record label. Books with otherworldly, touching and adventurous plots are being published multiple times a year, including the festival theme novels ‘The Rise of Adscendo’ and ‘The Spirit of Life’, and the first part of the long-awaited Book of Wisdom trilogy, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’. Those who’d like to sample the festival’s vibes in close proximity to palm-lined beaches are also in luck: they may order tickets for the Tomorrowland-curated nights at Ushuaïa in Ibiza, or reserve accommodation at Dubai’s magical Terra Solis resort, designed and curated by, of course, Tomorrowland. And even outside of those trips, there are all sorts of Tomorrowland mementoes, from apparel to luxury scented candles, available for fans to remind themselves of their favourite place in the world year-round.

Clearly, 20 years down the line from its humble beginnings, Tomorrowland has become more than just a festival: it is expanding into many facets of people’s lives, and can be enjoyed in many ways besides visiting the big events. Tomorrowland, its stories, and its spirit of unity are here to stay. Live, love, unite!

Swedish House Mafia’s last performance before their hiatus in 2013 ranks high on many people’s lists for its monumental quality.

This is as classic as the Tomorrowland Academy gets: hands-on, hands on the controls, hands in the air. These in-person courses consist of DJ workshops, production classes, music management lessons, motivational sessions and communal breakfasts and lunches as well as an actual performance at the Rise stage. The beginners’ course takes place in the week ahead of Tomorrowland Belgium’s first weekend and the advanced course is scheduled for the week in between the two festival weekends.

Start learning the trade

Do you feel the time has come to follow your dreams of becoming a DJ/producer?

The Academy caters to all levels of experience, including complete beginners, so don’t hesitate to check the website to find out which programme is a fit for you. Starting at just €15 per month for the online programmes, the Academy offers opportunities such as DJ and remix contests, a chance to perform at Terra Solis in Dubai as well as Tomorrowland itself, monthly feedback livestreams, and demo submissions. And during this ADE week, students from all over the world are invited to meet up at the Tomorrowland Expo on Saturday, 14:00–16:00. If all of this sounds like something you’d want to try, find more information at academy.tomorrowland.com!

Developing artists have always had the interest of Tomorrowland. It isn’t just the big names you’ll see on the line-up; young, inventive and energetic artists populate every single festival bill. Tomorrowland Academy, a much-loved physical and online school for DJs and producers, has taken this interest one step further: literally anyone with a passion for music is invited to join the production and DJ’ing fun, potentially becoming tomorrow’s superstar. Now, several years since its inception, the Academy is no longer just a simple course, as elaborate packages are on offer to everyone’s taste and ability. Let us guide you through what’s on offer.

Online Masterclasses

Many of this year’s online masterclass instructors are accomplished artists in their own right and it only makes sense for them to focus on what they do best. Take James Hype, who has taken the craft of DJ’ing to a higher level over the past few years; he will teach the most impressive tricks on several types of gear from a homestyle to a flagship setup. Jack-of-all-trades Laidback Luke, who is always on top of the latest techniques, teaches a course on stem separation, integration of AI, and the future of music mixing. Just announced is the involvement of Brazil’s highestranked DJ Alok, who tutors a course in which he reveals essential tips and creative strategies, which will be helpful to everyone pursuing a career in music. Also teaching are Italian duo Agents of Time, who will be sharing their knowledge on how to build a live set in what looks to be an incredibly interesting masterclass. And last but not least, the WALL Pro Academy caters to more advances students, who have got the basics down and want to grow into true professionals.

A FAMILY OF MAGIC

Founded in 2021, Tomorrowland Music is the festival’s in-house label, dedicated to introducing new music to people in every corner of the world. It provides a home to electronic artists from every different level across the full spectrum of subgenres, encouraging collaborations between them. Tomorrowland Music helps its artists create strong stories around their releases and showcases their live performances on stages hosted by the label at the festival’s own Holy Grounds. On top of that, the imprint supports artists in all their recording and releasing activities. Since this year, these extracurricular activities also include a writing camp, where some of your favourite DJs have joined forces with the world’s most talented up-and-coming songwriters.

"Tomorrowland provides ample opportunity for artists to get to know each other, and has been a hotbed for creative synergy since the start."

A community-based platform

Tomorrowland Music has come a long way since its inception just four years ago. Much more than a record label, it is now fast becoming a broadly construed music platform, fostering growth opportunities for its artists. Last summer, Tomorrowland Music co-hosted the Crystal Garden stage with Selected., introducing its own artists to the people behind this forward-thinking house label. And then there was the Tomorrowland Music hosting of Tomorrowland Belgium’s second largest outdoor stage, the Library, which boasted a diverse range of prolific artists, most of whom had just released or were about to release on the label. Visitors to the festival who loved a performance by, say, Alok or Topic on the stage had the opportunity to dive right into the Tomorrowland Music playlist on Spotify. They could savour their favourite moments on the dancefloor by listening to more music by the artists they had discovered less than 24 hours ago, while the artists profited from increased engagement and a new following.

Writing camps fuelled by Tomorrowland

New this year were Tomorrowland Music’s writing camps in the Lab of Tomorrow, a new venue next to the festival grounds in Belgium. Owing to its expansive line-up, Tomorrowland provides ample opportunity for artists to get to know each other, and has been a hotbed for creative synergy since the start – this is one of the reasons that artists performing at the festival love coming back to it year after year. Now, with the introduction of the writing camps, it’s not just DJs and producers who profit from this family-style networking, but also songwriters, producers and vocalists. When a good match is found here, things can start moving quickly. Take creative mastermind Repiet and vocalist Julia Kleijn, who co-wrote a song with Brussels-based producer Henri PFR: the three collectively made a banger of a track, which Henri played only days after its creation at the Gathering, Tomorrowland’s official preparty. The same thing happened to British duo Goodboys, who recorded a track with German songwriter Blazey ahead of their Mainstage appearance on the first Saturday of Tomorrowland Belgium, where they tested it out, receiving immediate public acclaim. Let there be no doubt about it: creativity flows freely whenever the Tomorrowland Music family reaches full speed.

Despite having so much to do, Adam never lets stress get the better of him, and always finds the time to shake hands with One World Radio listeners, who are welcome to come and say hello in the studio. Adam’s favourite memory? “There is obviously too much to choose from, but here’s one. Martin Garrix once came into the studio and we talked about when we first met back in 2013. He was still completely unknown back then, and he’d come to Tomorrowland just to party while DJs like David Guetta played ‘Animals’ in their sets. On air, he reminisced about how he felt back then: ‘I remember running around at Tomorrowland for the first time and my mind was blown, I was in heaven. To see the stage designs, the nice and friendly people… I wish the entire world was like Tomorrowland!’”

“Martin Garrix once told us he’d come to Tomorrowland just to party while DJs like David Guetta played ‘Animals’ in their sets.”
