Hanoi means inside the rivers. To be nurtured, fostered. Embankment by the Red River and Day River, Hanoi has existed and developed into a city a first-class capital, where the quintessence of Tonkin converges. The image of rivers has been imprinted in everyone’s subconscious Hanoi. The authors were inspired by the softness of the Red River as the main idea to evoke the look of old Hanoi for the landscape of LK5, LK6. The winding curves created from the color of the paving materials are the “flow” continuously and throughout the landscape, seamlessly connecting the spaces in a natural way. For the pedestrian street behind the building, a transformative curve flows continuously to recall the above idea, but is combined with shade trees to create a soft and fresh, modern tropical beauty.

LK3 adjoining commercial housing area brings continuity in terms of architectural form from the row of houses LK1-2. On that foundation. We designed the evocative LK3 area landscape appearance of the neighboring islands of Singapore. These “island” stops at the area between the enclosed blocks wrapped by waves with highly permeable concrete material hue. The association of the identity of a city in the middle of the sea is the main factor that creates the attraction for landscape architecture this project. Areas LK1, LK2, LK3 in the previous steps get ideas. Phuoc Tho residential area project is located in ward 3, Vinh Long city, is the center of the Mekong Delta with many cultural features. The project owns an extremely favorable location of Vinh Long City when it is located on the main axis of National Highway 53 (Pho Co Dieu Street) connecting from National Highway 1 running directly to the center of the City. This is the lifeline when connecting all neighboring economic regions; 3km south of the provincial administrative center, this is a favorable area to form a civilized and environmentally friendly living space.

Zone area

As a rich land, located next to Cai Ca River, a tributary of the Co Chien River, creating a terrain here with semi-mangrove areas. creating favorable conditions for the development of tourism in the unique gardens and islands in the South. The characteristic of the region in this place is that it is surrounded by a system of rivers and canals, creating a great advantage to balance the ideal living ecosystem for the population. Taking advantage of that ideal natural condition, the overall Phuoc Tho project is a combination of mangrove nature and Everglades lagoon house architecture in Florida, USA style. The project has a total area of 115,354.5 m2 divided into 2 main subdivisions: Phuoc Tho 1 and Phuoc Tho 2. The whole project has 485 low-rise housing lots divided into 19 typical models. The plots range in size from 82.8 m2 to 134.3 m2. The lowest width is 3.5 m2, the highest is 7.5 m2. The lowest length is 18.4 m2, the longest is 25 m2. Infrastructure and traffic are growing and expanding, which is favorable for the project.

The concept of the whole project is derived from the modern urban area along the Everglades swamp, Florida with many green spaces, semi-submerged water surface space and typical Mediterranean architecture, suitable for the climate. “FORrumCHILD - a forum for children or a school as a small public space” I got this project by chance during Hanoi’s isolation time period after graduating from my master’s degree. I worked with ATEK Architects on a project before going to Italy in 2017 so it was very interesting to get access to a school project as a project team leader. In my opinion, like ATEK, when accepting a school design project, the first thing to do is to understand every aspect. Because we are not merely designing a building for teaching purposes. “A good architectural design has to address the core problems of the project”. Following the project idea as FORumCHILD, COMMUNITY SPACE IN SCHOOLS, let’s consider each forum as a factor for the layout to suit the status quo, problem requirements, solving the analyzed problems. FORUM: it can be an outdoor space, an open space, an indoor space, a sports space or a learning exchange space. Forum classifications are divided into three categories of properties: mental forum. “A garden for children”” The second project with ATEK is a school in Nam Tu Liem, but with different theme : a kindergarten and primary school. The location of the site is the Giao luu city area, with a very large lake in front with a very beautiful landscape. Therefore, we take the idea that a garden, under the green trees, will be a play space for children. Because school is considered a small universe for the child, the purpose of education for us is to teach the child to be a kind person, love nature, love family. Thus, the garden is extended and connected from the lake, up to the roof. School architecture should not be just a structural structure, by approaching the problem from the main users of children and by extension communication to nature, we think we can bring schools closer. with the child over. The site located at No. 9 Hai Ba Trung, Trang Tien Ward, Hoan Kiem District is currently the Nguyen Truong To Vocational and Regular School. The work was built a long time ago (about 20 years of use), has many repairs. The last time was in 2018, adding classes to serve a part of Ngo Sy Lien Secondary School during the main school’s renovation and upgrading. Currently, the campus is 1381m2 wide, including 2 blocks, 1 block 2 floors in front of Hai Ba Trung Street, 1 block of 5-storey L-shaped house, U-shaped, with a construction area of 943m2, construction density reaches 68.28%. The total number of classes being served is 40 classes. However, there is a complete lack of basic school spaces such as a minimum playground (the first floor yard is used as a motorbike parking space), function rooms if you want to use it as a secondary school. In addition, surrounding the site are other buildings, no empty space. To the east is the back of a building belonging to the Hanoi Art College, 5 floors high. The West is a low-rise residential house with no specific plan. The site has two entrances, a main gate from Hai Ba Trung Street and a side gate from Pham Su Manh Street. Among the grapefruit garden of a large farm, Mian Farm Cottage has a fine view of Ba Vi mountain range. The love of nature is in harmony with the particular traits of the contemporary architecture such as the simple outlines, the rich natural light and the connection between inside and outside. All bring about the inspiration for designing. There are two main units: The central section with living room, dinning room, kitchen which was rebuilt on the basement of the broken down building; and the bedrooms which were reformed on the old structures. The building block seems to be floating above the grass. The horizontal shape makes the building form simple and modest while sheltering behind the foliage. The large glass surface overlooks the garden and the distant mountains. Because of far away from the city, the easier in construction the better, so the solution was creating the whole building structure in steel, that simplified the process and took only two months for constructing. Compared with using concrete structure, using steel was reduced the expense as much as possible. Laterite was one of the local materials used in finishing work.

We were assigned to design a corner villa in an urban finished civil work. In here, series of apartments were finished civil work and sold many years ago. The villa overlooks a wide space with an extensive view and a large meadow. From the inside of villa, one can see the whole of Western view - the main hot direction of Vietnam climate. Requirements for architects including the use for a family with 2 children with a modern life style, extension space will take all advantage of the view, be able to prevent high temperature by direct light from Western as well as keep security because of low population density here. The design is discussed with a simple and condensed cube but still keep the harmony with the whole architecture around. It is easy to see the villa far from the meadow. A large pent-roof is designed round the first floor to shade the sun for inside space. The above pent-roof will be a big balcony where can seat to sight the meadow every morning. The whole front of villa will be use a flexible brise-soleil system which is able to open wide and close, therefore it is able to adjust the light into the house and keep security. Belongs to weather and feeling, the house can be open minded or closed with outside.

We have had the opportunity to do quite a lot of apartment furniture, renovating old dormitories, but this is my favorite project because it has elements such as simplicity, full of light and good use of each space. space. This is an apartment with open space and lots of light. Therefore, the owner wants to spend a lot of space for trees and a common space for the children to play. The solution is to sacrifice an unnecessary toilet to expand the kitchen and dining room, connecting the rear balcony with the common space for light and wind that can be entered from two directions in the house. AquaBay Mimosa Villa is located in the green city of Ecopark, where the landscape is close to nature. The owner is a middle-aged couple with the desire to have a house filled with light, fully furnished but simple and tidy. We do not use too many decorations, but focus on designing long standing cabinets, wall cabinets to be able to hold as many items as possible. White tones and walnut colors create a clean but warm feeling to the homeowner. I have been involved in the survey, design ideas, construction drawings, interior detailed drawings and selection of construction finishing materials as well as interior materials. This is a fairly simple project, the time to design and complete within 6 months, but what I learned after this project is how to work with the investor.

Along with this economic development, big cities in Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, are witnessing a wave of young people from all over the country, pouring in to live and settle down. The consequence is that housing demand for this kind of client spikes. According to statistics in 2019, the population of HCMC is nearly 9 million, with 7.12 million in urban areas, of which 30% are young workers and 60% young people ( from 25 to 35 years old) are single or newly married. However, the current urban housing funds almost all focus on low-income families or young families, with closed apartment design ( 1-2 bedrooms) and low-priced housing. Meanwhile, the demand for housing for young people, mostly start-ups, is not high-priced but affordable, near the workplace, connect to the city center and the airport, comfortable enough, and may enhance the connection between individuals. I’m from South Asia, one from Hanoi, Vietnam, another one comes from China. In our country, the shortage of housing, the trend of tall buildings has been the issue in recent years till for the future. Therefore, within the framework of this thesis, we focus on addressing Urban Living Spaces and Housings’ needs that are suitable for young people living in the central districts of HCMC. Specifically, focusing on Tall buildings along the Saigon River. Because currently, the development of tall buildings is already in the city’s urban planning.

SQUARE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS HCMC has the typical climate of southern Vietnam which has a the tropical climate, with an average humidity of 75%. A year is divided into two distinct seasons. The average temperature is 280C; the highest temperature sometimes reaches 390C around noon in late April, while the lowest may fall below 160C in the early mornings of late December. It can be stated that cooling is the dominant demand throughout the year in HCMC. The number of sunny hours is high and the heat is high, so in the design of a high-rise building, priority to avoid hot sun, the best direction to catch the wind is to the South and the North. Avoid the East-West direction because of the high solar radiation, it is necessary to have a plan for sun protection if the building façade rotates a lot in this direction.

CONCEPT

We start with the size of the site and approaches. The land has favorable terrain when there are 4 sides adjacent to roads for cars. So we thought of an option to cut off an access road just for pedestrians and bicycles.

Required land must have a construction density of not more than 50%, and must have a distance from the rood at least 10 m. After studying the road and housing network, we use the diagonal lines to divide the land.

Based on the study of shadows and wind direction, we arrange the blocks and elevations in accordance with the required function. The central area is chosen as the public space connected to the river front.

Add a landscape section and ancillary functions to complete the overall design for the area.

“Reconstruction of the area of Cascina Merlata - Milan” Located in the Cascina Merlata area in the city of Milan, close to the Rho-Pero Trade Fair pole and to the Expo 2015 site, Area R1 has area 16770 spm is planned to become a social housing area in the new area of Milan. This is an area that was originally designed as a residential, auxiliary area for Expo Milan in 2015 for the existing residential and hotel buildings. The task of this project is to reconstruct urban space, reconstruct and connect residential areas with public spaces. Our idea is to connect Milan Expo area 2015, with the future becoming the new university area. We create associated spaces, incorporating landscape design and using bright colors for new accommodation.

We are proposing a social housing combining markets and greenhouse on the roof to create a novel model for people who suffered by low salary and the elderly to have a self-sufficient life. All the material and technology we choose are based on the latest trend and information. The cost of them are low, defining as long lasting aesthetics as well. As for the most important part on the rooftop is called the Hydroponic Garden System. It’s smart and environmentally friendly, not only achieving saving the soil but also recycling the water system. The main goal for our project is to maximize flexibility, making the building sustainable and able to share with everyone.

Inspired by the rotation and recycling of organic waste into energy, biochar use as a raw material to filter CO2 is also used as a fertilizer. Biochar a charcoal-like substance produced from agriculture and forest wastes. It has high active carbon surface area that is produced through naerobic heating of biomass. Composition-wise, it contains 70% carbon and the remaining elements are hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen.Biochar is used as soil enhancer to increase fertility, prevent soil degradation and to sequester carbon in the soil. It improves soil fertility by retaining water and nutrients in soil, encouraging beneficial soil organisms and thereby reducing the need for additional use of fertilizers. Biochar can store carbon in the soil for as many as hundreds to thousands of years (IBI, 2008). Biochar technology is different from the conventional charcoal production because it is highly efficient in the conversion of carbon and harmful pollutants are not released upon combustion.

Sub-Saharan a vast area in Africa consists of many countries with different culture, ethnic. In 2019, this region hosts more than 26 percent of world’s refugee population causing by both natural disaster as disease, drought, desertification, flooding and human conflict. The map above shows the location of emergency need in Africa, locating in different environmental conditions. The main entrance located in the south of the centre, in front of the courtyard of a U-shaped building. It is built by small bamboo module, which is quick and lean construction. Important space such as patient treatment, offices are on the north side of the centre to avoid direct solar radiation. In the day, the sunlight goes through the bamboo partition wall make everything dry, and hygienic; at calm night, the light from the centre looks like sun radiation, heat and warm up for humanitarian activities. It is a spiritual image of SUNSTRIPES emergency operation centre, represent a hope of humanitarian activities for African community to go through all hardness. The operational part is around 105 m2, has places for 6 organisation staffs. A big meeting room with 16 spaces for handling and coordinating issues of emergency activities combined with 2 beds in resting area, which can transform to patient be if necessary. Separated toilet for office part is considered. Next to it, there is a plentiful storage area, divided into 2 separated rooms, which include one for equipment, material and another for aiding goods such as food, medicine, and field trip equipment in the front of centre, aiming for easier logistic activities.

Located at an altitude of 1,500 meters and the mountains along the forest flora populations, especially pine trees surrounded, Da Lat has a temperate mountainous climate balmy year round. The average monthly temperature in Dalat never exceeds 20*C, even in the hottest months. Within a radius of 1km have Tran Hung Dao architectural conservation area. To the North is the Xuan Huong Lake. Northeast adjacent to the old stadium, the planning of the city will become the plaza. Besides the park there Yesin. To the south is the quite residential area east focus. Around the area are mostly trees and water. Get Xuan Huong lake view is the main view. The main approach of the readers will from Tran Quoc Toan Street. Side entrance for staff and would book entry from Ho Tung Mau Street. The land where the terrain is relatively flat, sloping gently toward the lake.

This is the concepts that I made in four-year student on Hanoi Architectural University. Requirements are designed a theater project, I chose Ballet Theatre to perform in Hanoi. Buildings located in one of the important intersections of the capital Hanoi, with ideas taken from the volume image of the colorful column, has created works just satisfying performance and user requirements, both show softness of the dances. After thorough research on traffic, access, design requirements, as well as natural climate conditions of Hanoi, I had solutions using glasses fence for mean front and around its.
