Introduction
The Saudi government allocated over 25% of its SR 475 billion budget this year for the education sector. A major portion of that allocation is appropriated for the higher education section where billions of dollars will be spent on tens of thousands of Saudi students in order to support them in continuing their higher education in universities and specialized colleges domestically and abroad, in addition to the many enormous projects planned by the Ministry of Higher Education. As a result of this renewed attentiveness for higher education, combined with an interest to achieve knowledge awareness of higher education issues and institutions among staff and students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Higher Education decides establishing an international

exhibition for higher education to host various local and international higher education institutions. The exhibition will develop a positive communication channel between educational institutions in the Kingdom and various international institutions of higher education all over the world contributing in general to a public awareness in the education sector and particularly to student awareness in scholarship programs and educational courses offered by those institutions. Thus, under The Auspices of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) is organizing the first INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION - IEHE 2010, from 26 – 29 January 2010.
Objectives Provide the opportunity to the Saudi community in its various institutions, categories and individuals, particularly those interested in out-ofthe country scholarship programs, to interact with representatives of international institutions of higher education and familiarize themselves with their respective educational and academic systems and procedures. Encourage the institutions of higher education in the Kingdom to upgrade their academic and professional capacities to reach the level of The exhibition will contribute in general to public awareness in the education sector and particularly to student awareness in scholarship programs and educational courses
their international counterparts. Provide the exposure of local universities’ administration and faculty staff to international expertise and resources. Create a positive communication channel between educational authorities in the Kingdom and international institutions of higher education thus encouraging academic mutual agreements between them. Provide opportunities to review cutting-edge technologies in e-learning and distance education.
