I hope everyone had a great time in Leesburg Bike Fest! I am writing this right before we leave and we are hoping to have a great time at our two bike shows Thursday at Gator Harley and Friday at Main street near the Budweiser Stage. Full Throttle has been out on the streets getting new advertisers and trying to start new bike nights. We have a new sales manager names Les Toliver and he is doing great things for us here at Full Throttle and the motorcycle community! If you would like to start a bike night at your location, contact Les and he will personally come out and sit down with you and we will help you create a bike night that suites your needs at your location! Call Les at 727-534-4447 Our Tuck-a-Buck Poker Run is back, Friday May 26th! This is a fun run that stops by a few adult establishments in Pasco and Pinellas counties. We are starting at Lollipops in Hudson and stopping at Knockers, Bare Assets, 4 Play and ends at Silks in Palm Harbor. This event is emcee’d by my beautiful wife, Tonya Cianci at the end stop! She had an opportunity to emcee it last year and did such a great job the venue requested her to do it again! Best hand wins $300, 2nd best hand wins $200, 3rd best hand wins $100 and worst hand wins $100 for a $700 PRIZE FUND! Poker hands are $10 each or 3 hands for $20, so the best deal is to get 3 hands for $20 for a better chance to win! If you haven’t booked your room yet for our SOAKED AND SORE ASS POKER RUN – June 24th, you better do it soon! We are starting this year in Dunedin, FL and ending in St. Augustine at the White Lion across from the Fort. We also will have a celebrity appearance at the end stop, Tim Smith from the TV Show Moonshiners will be at the end stop promoting his Moonshine, Climax Moonshine! We also have awards this year sponsored by Misfit Metal Works! This is a 300+ mile run with seven stops along the way, one of those stops this year is Yeehaw Junction! You can book your rooms online through Expedia by going to our website and click on the ad. This is the first time we have done our hotel booking this way, but is easier as you can book a room in St. Augustine in the price range that best suites you! If you need more info call us at 727-935-4875. New Port Richey Harley-Davidson is starting a new monthly Bike Night on the 2nd Thursday of each month! This bike night is going to be called THROTTLE THURSDAYS! We will be doing a 10-class bike show with great bands each month, biker games, food and FREE BEER! There will also be Harley Girls doing a bikini bike wash and vendors are welcome! Full Throttle will be emceeing this great bike night from 6pm till 9pm the 2nd Thursday of every month! If you would like to be a vendor call us at 727-935-4875 There are a lot of great events happing in May so be sure to check out our cruising calendar. I would like to wish a few people some happy birthday’s like my Aunt Doodoo on May 1st and my sister-in-law Christine on May 6th. I would also like to wish my mom, Mary Cianci in Toledo Ohio a Happy Mother’s Day and to the other Mother’s in my life a special Happy Mother’s Day, my wife Tonya, my step-mom Tracy. Have a great Memorial Day weekend and remember why we celebrate, to remember those who laid down their lives defending our freedoms we have every day! STRAWBERRIES!

Caution, Intersection Ahead It’s no secret that most vehicle crashes occur at intersections. As a motorcycle rider, if you didn’t know that fact, you should. This is true whether you’re on four wheels or two. Of course, a crash at an intersection is hundreds of times worse on a motorcycle. When I say intersection, you’re apt to think about a four-way intersection; and yes, that is the most dangerous. But, you must be extra careful with any intersecting roads whether it be on your right or your left. If you think about it, the reason four-way intersections are the most likely place for a crash is simply because so many things are happening at the same time. The most danger lies in the vehicle waiting to turn left. That driver is not looking for motorcycles. He/she’s looking for four wheeled vehicles, thus, that driver may not recognize a motorcycle coming right at him. Then, there’s the driver who can make a right turn on a red light. He/she is also not looking for motorcycles and can pull out right into your lane. The good news is just about all intersection crashes can be avoided with some defensive skills. The first thing to do when approaching an intersection is to slow down and cover both brakes. Be wary of the vehicle waiting to turn left even though you have a green light. Have an escape plan in your mind should that occur. Keep a good distance from the car in front of you; if you’re too close to that car, you will be hidden from the left turning driver’s view. Should that vehicle violate your right of way, or even the vehicle that pulls out from your right, you have two choices. If you can stop in time, do so. To know if you can stop prior to a collision, you must spend some time practicing quick stops from various speeds. If you’ve never practiced emergency braking, you’re in deep trouble. The other alternative is a quick left to right or right to left swerve. Again, if you’ve never practiced that swerve, you’re in worse trouble because it takes more practice to make an aggressive swerve than to perfect braking skills. If you’d like to practice your swerving skills, go to my Ride Like a Pro website, www.ridelikeapro.com and download the practice guide and work on the offset cone weave. That’s the exact maneuver you’ll need and the practice guide is FREE. It’s very important to remember that you cannot perform maximum braking while swerving. The idea is to hit both brakes hard, release the brakes, then perform the swerve. At my Ride Like a Pro class we spend about an hour on the offset cone weave alone and it takes most riders three or four times through the exercise to get it right. In the intersection when that car pulls out in front of you, you have only one shot at getting it right. Are you ready? No? Then, you had better get out there and practice. Wow what a month we have had here at Full Throttle. The High Octane event was off the chart. Thousands of bikers and great music. The bike nights all month have been fantastic. ChaChi tore up the burn out pit at Kicken Wings smoking the

whole place up. Let's Ride had there grand opening with all the Biker magazine's in one place. That was a lot of fun. We should do that more often. We had a Cereal Drive for Tampa Bay that blew our minds. Over 800 boxes raised in one day. Beat that if you can. The month just keeps rolling on. Next up is Leesburg Bike Fest. We all know what a great time that is. If you didn't catch the live feed on the Full Throttle facebook form The Crab Shack go check it out. You all should try out this place. What a fantastic restaurant. We are working on a lot of great events coming up. There should

be something for everyone this summer. The good times just keep coming. I also just finished up the Tuck A Buck route for this year on Fri. May the 26th. We are going a little farther south this time making a nice ride. Have you noticed the traffic getting better. That only means the birds are leaving. Our roads are almost ours again. Thank you for coming to FL.... but we are glad to see you go home also, LOL. Well, that just about explains my wide open month. Till next time. Be free and ride safe. Remember if you are looking for an ad in the magazine, or if you would like to set up a bike night at your location, call me at 727-534-4447 and I will personally come out and help you get started on everything you will need!

FROM WALL STREET TO MAIN STREET MAY ARTICLE PRESENTED BY: MICHELLE OSBORNE This is an excerpt from FINRA’s website under their Investor Alerts: Market Risk: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You. Article last updated June 24, 2016. I felt this was an important article for all of my following readers to be aware of. To read the entire article, please refer to www.FINRA. org/investors/alerts/market-risk-what-you-don’t-know-can-hurt-you Most investors know that investing involves risks as well as rewards and that, generally speaking, the higher the risk, the greater the potential reward. While it is important to consider the risks in the context of a specific investment or asset class, it is equally critical that investors consider market risk. Risks associated with investing in a particular product, company, or industry sector are called business or "non-systematic" risks. Common business risks include: Management Risk—also called company risk, encompasses a wide array of factors than can impact the value of a specific company. For example, the managers who run the company might make a bad decision or get embroiled in a scandal, causing a drop in the value of the company's stocks or bonds. Alternatively, a key competitor might release a better product or service. Credit Risk—also called default risk, is the chance that a bond issuer will fail to make interest payments or to pay back your principal when your bond matures. By contrast, market risk, sometimes referred to as systematic risk, involves factors that affect the overall economy or securities markets. It is the risk that an overall market will decline, bringing down the value of an individual investment in a company regardless of that company's growth, revenues, earnings, management, and capital structure. Here's an illustration of the concept of market risk: Let's say you decide to buy a car. You can buy a brand-new car under full warranty. Or you can buy a used car with no warranty. Your choice will depend on a variety of factors, like how much money you want to spend, which features you want, how mechanical you are, and, of course, your risk tolerance. As you research different vehicles, you'll find that some makes and models have better performance and repair histories than others. But whichever car you chose, you will face

30

certain risks on the road which have nothing to do with the car itself, but which can significantly impact your driving experience—including the weather, road conditions, even animals crossing the highway at night. While these factors may be out of your control, being aware of them can help prepare you to navigate them successfully. What Are Common Market Risks? Depending on the nature of the investment, relevant market risks may involve international as well as domestic factors. Key market risks to be aware of include: Interest Rate Risk relates to the risk of reduction in the value of a security due to changes in interest rates. Interest rate changes directly affect bonds—as interest rates rise, the price of a previously issued bond falls; conversely, when interest rates fall, bond prices increase. The rationale is that a bond is a promise of a future stream of payments; an investor will offer less for a bond that pays-out at a rate lower than the rates offered in the current market. The opposite also is true. An investor will pay a premium for a bond that pays interest at a rate higher than those offered in the current market. Here's an illustration of the concept of interest rate risk: a 10-year, $1,000 bond issued last year at a 4% interest rate is less valuable today, when the interest rate has gone up to 6%. Conversely, the same bond would be more valuable today if interest rates had gone down to 2%. Other risks mentioned in the article are inflation risk, liquidity risk, sociopolitical risk, country risk, legal remedies risk and currency risk. To read further information on these risks and to learn how to manage and minimize these risks, please visit http://www.finra.org/ investors/alerts/market-risk-what-you-dont-know-can-hurt-you. These are tips every investor should know. Always best to diversity and do your homework. My husband Jeff and I have lived in Florida for two years now, and after much consideration I have decided to get my motorcycle endorsement. I have spent the last two yrs. asking riders what the laws are, what is and isn't required etc. etc. And after receiving many different answers from many different people I decided to go online and do some research. We moved here from Pa. so the laws are quite different, this is what I found. 1. Fla. requires new motorcyclists (regardless of age) take and pass "The Basic Rider Course" before they obtain a license. 2. There are two types of endorsements, 2 or 3 wheel that has an engine over 50cc's. 3.You must be 16 yrs of age and have held a learner's permit for at least 1yr with no traffic convictions. 4. To operate a 3 wheel you must complete the S/TEP-Sidecar/Trike Evaluation Program. After completion your license will have an "S" restriction on it which means you can only ride a 3 wheel. 5. There are no temporary permits in the state of Florida. 6. If you are 21 yrs old and are covered by an insurance policy with at least $10,000 in medical benefits. You may receive a helmet exemption. 8. You must wear protective eyewear. And with some further research I discovered a few more that I thought you may be interested in.

1. When operating a motorcycle, you shall ride upon the permanent and regular seat attached and such operator shall not carry another person, nor shall any other person ride on a motorcycle unless such motorcycle is designed to carry more than one person. A permanent seat must be attached for a second person. 2. A person may ride upon a motorcycle or moped only while sitting on the and both wheels on the ground at all times, facing forward with one leg on each side of the motorcycle or moped. Wheelies are illegal, all wheels on the ground at all times unless sever weather causes them to come off the ground. 3. You shall not carry a package if it prevents you from keeping both hands on the bars. 4. No headsets are to be worn unless they are installed in a helmet and are protected so not to come in direct contact with the riders ears, so the rider can still hear surrounding sounds. 5.Headlights on at all times. 6. No red or blue lights may be visible from the front of the motorcycle or moped. 7. You must have a horn and it should not be a harsh sound or whistle, no sirens or bells. 8. You must have a stop light, multiple beams, brakes, mufflers for the prevention of noise, and mirrors. Now with all that said I have purchased my first scoot. It's a 300cc Kymco Scooter. It's a learning bike but I also think she's quite sleek and goes up to 80 mph. I will be taking my class in the near future and will be hittin the road. Hope to see you all out there!! Thanks for all your support!!! Connie!! LIVIN LIFE FULL THROTTLE

Here we are in May already! Don’t forget that Mother’s Day is on the 14th. April was busy with the road runners 15th annual luau poker run. There were about 100 hands that day. the food was great, a country boil. I think I ate my share and my friend Lily had a good time listening to the bands and watching people. Tallahassee Harley-Davidson held their monthly bike night on the second Thursday of the month. There were demo rides, riding demonstrations, food vendors and other vendors and a great band. This is the second Thursday of the month. They also have serve free hot dogs and beverages served by Harley girls event week40

end! Then it was off to Monticello for their bike night the second Saturday of every month with dancing in the street, good food, fun and lots of bikes. Donnie and staff know how to have a bike night. The band for May is Free Wheelin, this is a local band and they are good. Let’s not forget our vets and active duty service men and women around the world fighting for all the freedoms we have here in America, and to never forget those that made the ultimate sacrifice. I want to thank my niece Kris in the air force in California who is coming up for retirement next year. thank you for being my hero and traveling all over the world. I miss you and always stay out of harm’s way. bless you. Memorial Day has always been special to me so let’s remember all service personnel from all wars. have a safe and happy Memorial Day. until next month, remember to ride safe no matter what you ride. keelhauler

Welcome to my Back Yard. Summer is here and that means it’s time for the 3 final bike events before summer sets in on us here in Florida. Leesburg Bike fest is always a favorite here in Florida. If you have never been to Leesburg for bike fest, it is an event you really need to put on your bucket list to do. The I’m off toe Panama City Beach and the return of Boardwalk Beach Resort back to Thunder Beach Spring Rally. We have a great line up this year with High 44

Well, the past two months have been interesting for me to say the least. I retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, serving almost 21 years as a F-14 Tomcat and F-18 Super Hornet electrician. When I was offered the opportunity to work with my brother here at Full Throttle Magazine, I couldn't be happier. In my post military life, I wanted to work with veterans and make a difference in the community, after meeting the thousands of veterans at Daytona Beach Bike Week, various bike nights around the area, and at Leesburg Bike Fest in addition to the many char-

ity events like "Cereal for Summer" in which we raised over 800 boxes of cereal, I firmly believe that I made the right decision. I look forward to seeing everyone at the dozens of events that are on the schedule for the month of May. I want to wish my beautiful wife, Christine, a Happy Birthday and a Happy Mother's Day. I love you and I couldn't do it without you. I also want to wish a Happy Birthday to my Aunt Debi, and to my brother/boss/fishing partner Tony C. Happy Birthday to you, and a Happy Mother's Day to all of the mother's out there. Lastly, don't forget to celebrate the heroes who gave their lives in support of our nation this Memorial Day. Stay safe out there!!!

A teacher trying to teach good manners, asked her students the following question: ‘Michael, if you were on a date having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you tell her that you have to go to the bathroom? ‘Michael said: ‘Just a minute I have to go pee.’ The teacher responded by saying: ‘That would be rude and impolite. What about you Sherman, how would you say it?’ Sherman said: ‘I am sorry, but I really need to go to the bathroom. I’ll be right back.’ ‘That’s better, but it’s still not very nice to say the word bathroom at the dinner table. And you, little Johnny, can you use your brain for once and show us your good manners?’ Johnny said ‘I would say: Darling, may I please be excused for a moment? I have to shake hands with a very dear friend of mine, whom I hope to introduce you to after dinner.’ The teacher fainted... *************************************** I told my doctor that I broke my arm in two places. He told me to stop going to those places.

While she was ‘flying’ down the road yesterday, a woman passed over a bridge only to find a cop with a radar gun on the other side lying in wait. The cop pulled her over, walked up to the car, with that classic patronizing smirk we all know and love, asked, ‘What’s your hurry?’ To which she replied, ‘I’m late for work.’ ‘Oh yeah,’ said the cop, ‘what do you do?’ ‘I’m a rectum stretcher,’ she responded. The cop stammered, ‘A what? A rectum stretcher? And just what does a rectum stretcher do?’ ‘Well,’ she said, ‘I start by inserting one finger, then work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four, then with my whole hand in. I work from side to side until I can get both hands in, and then I slowly but surely stretch it, until it’s about 6 feet wide.’ ‘And just what the heck do you do with a 6 foot butthole? ‘ he asked. ‘You give him a radar gun and park him behind a bridge. ********************************************* An old woman had 3 daughters. One day she decided to test her three Sons-in-law. One a fine day, she was walking along a lake shore with the first son-in-law. Purposefully, she fell down in the lake and started yelling for help. The first son-in-law jumped into the water and dragged her out into the shore. The next day he found a brand new E Class Mercedes in his door steps with the wordings “Thank you! Your Mother-in-law who loves you very much!!” Another day she went out with her second son-in-law. Purposefully, she fell down in the lake and started yelling for help. The second son-in-law too jumped into the water and dragged her out into the shore. The next day he found a brand new E Class Mercedes in his door steps with the wordings “Thank you! Your Mother-in-law who loves you very much!!” The third time she was walking with the third son-in-law and she repeated the same. But that guy got scared and ran away without offering any help to her. The poor old lady who wanted to test her sons-in-law drowned and died. The next day the third son-in-law was surprised to see a new brand new Rolls-Royce waiting at his doorsteps with the following wordings..... “Thank you very much! Your Father-in-law!”

A guy’s eating in a restaurant and spots a gorgeous woman sitting all alone. He calls over his waiter and says, “Send that woman a bottle of your most expensive champagne, on me.” The waiter quickly brings the champagne over to the woman, and says, “Ma’am, this is from the gentleman over there.” She says to the waiter, “Please tell him that for me to accept this champagne, he better have a Mercedes in his garage, a million dollars in the bank, and eight inches in his pants.” The waiter delivers the message, and the guy says, “Please go back and tell her I have two Mercedes in my garage, three million dollars in the bank, but I haven’t even met her...so why the heck would I cut off four inches?” ******************************** Edward, a biggame hunter, goes on safari in Kenya with his wife, Frances and his mother-in-law, Agnes. One evening, while still deep in the jungle, Frances awakes to find her mother, Agnes, has disappeared. Rushing to Edward, she insists on them both trying to find her mother. Sighing heavily, Edward picks up his rifle and starts to search for Agnes. Soon, in a clearing not far from the camp, they come upon a frightening sight. Agnes, the mother-inlaw is backed up against a thick, impenetrable bush, and a large male lion is standing facing her. Frances cries out in panic, Edward, what are we going to do?’ ‘Nothing,’ explains Edward calmly. ‘Absolutely nothing, my dearest. The lion got himself into this mess, let him get himself out of it.’

This month I had the pleasure of interviewing GAINESVILLE HARLEY-DAVIDSON's Mike Fink, Sales Manager 4125 NW 97th Boulevard Gainesville, FL. 32606 mikef@gainesvilleharley.com WWW.GAINESVILLEHD-COM 352-331-6363 Although it was timely because anyone could see that Mike loved his job! We were interrupted many times by the phone, so I didn't take up much of his valuable time. Mike (who will be 54) just a week before one of GAINESVILLE HD exciting events...the ANNUAL HOG Roast on MAY 20 21, 2017 has been riding Harley's for 36 years! Ever since he turned 18, graduated in 1981, and bought his first Harley which was a 1977 Super Glide. He fell in love with HARLEYDAVIDSON Brand (and has always rode Harley-Davidson's)! He just loves his MILWAUKEE 8 Road Glide. In fact, Mike has owned several HARLEY's over the years and has enjoyed them all. GAINESVILLE HARLEYDAVIDSON just celebrated 24 years in business in February. Wow! How cool is that! Mike says that it's because sales, service, parts and motor clothes all work together as a family and as a team for being the best customer experience. GAINESVILLE HD attends and sponsors several bike nights in the area including Lake City too. Mike's family owns a Harley-Davidson back in Ohio where he worked until 2011. He bought a house in sunny Florida never to back on snowy OHIO... the rest is history... Mike loves ridin, his

56

family, and the biker community. He dislikes hearing a bike broke down, (or worse) a bike is in a wreck, and rainy days! Mike likes the motorcycle industry because it is fun and exciting! He says Harley is coming out with all new kinds of bikes in the upcoming years, and he thinks they will just keep on growing! Mike's future plans are to keep selling HARLEY's at GAINESVILLE HD until he retires! It isn't WORK when you LOVE what you do! Ain't that the truth! Mike says he couldn't ask for a better place to work, and I live to wake up in the morning and see what each day has to bring! Mike's greatest achievement is getting this opportunity at GAINESVILLE HD AND his son is graduating from college next weekend! He has a very good attitude because he said, "I can't say I'd ever do anything differently...I've had a pretty good life!" It gets better every day. We try to do everything the best way that we can every day...We like to keep our customers happy and satisfied and we are here to make the experience of being a member of the GAINESVILLE HD family GREAT! That is one of the many reasons we put on the event ANNUAL HOG ROAST, MAY 20 - 21, 2017. WHY DON'T YOU COME OUT AND SEE GAINESVILLE HARLEY-DAVIDSON for their ANNUAL HOG ROAST PARTY MAY 20-21,2017 ... IT SURE WILL BE FUN! LET'S GET OUT AND RIDE!!! **** Our prayers go out to DAVID LEE of HAP'S CYCLE SALES. David is battling cancer...enough said. Please pray for him and his family. I love you, Alice, Bix, Val, Bob, Lana, Sara, David Lee, and Steve! GOD'S SPEED! I will keep you in MY PRAYERS! Til next issue, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Ride Safe & RIDE WHENEVER YOU CAN! Nancy

JASMINE CAIN ON HER WAY TO THE TOP From her roots of Opal South Dakota, town of 22, to the neon lights of Nashville she has paid her dues. She rocks the crowd with her original rock and roll and stage persona, which is all her, down to earth, and just herself. She took on a different name to maintain her family’s privacy, the only thing not genuine about her. Her childhood was one of chores from sun up to sundown taking care of the house, cooking ,cattle and horses. “When you heard my parents bed creak, you knew you had one minute to be up and dressed or Dad would pour of water on you”. Her younger years her father was always on the road as a truck driver while her Mom worked as a home health nurse. It was too much between 300 cattle and four kids for one person despite her three brothers and she all tirelessly helping they were still young. At age five she remembers her mother telling him one morning stay home or don’t come back. She watched from her window as he paced in front of his headlights, afraid he would leave and she would never see him again. He came back inside and has been home ever since. She rode her horses bareback (Rex and Lucky) to school 7 miles her entire childhood. She competed in rodeos as a breakaway calf roper and the occasional rodeo queen pageants to perfect reigning and keep her horses from having arena anxiety. She has fond memories of a small town who welcomes her, somewhat intimidated by her success. She recalled the lunch lady from school asking if it was ok to take a photo. She finds that reaction hard to believe. “she served me chicken nuggets, of course its ok.” Opal is outside of Sturgis, where she was born and where she returns each year to adoring friends, neighbors and a proud family while playing several shows during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. It was on one of those visits when she first heard her music playing on the radio while scooping up those end of the event T-shirt deals early one morning. All she and the band could do was cry. At the top of her class as an athletic trainer in college she had to leave due to a boyfriend becoming abusive, and such a small campus there wasn’t protection. She left early one morning with two knives in two tires, changed the tires and never looked back. I said I guess that was not meant to be your calling, she answered “Yes but I was so good at it, I loved it, growing up we had no school nurse or nearby doctor, I learned how to tape up after sports and tending the horses. I would have been great at sports medicine. But I never looked back after I had to leave college.” It was then that she moved on to her career in music and took a leap of faith moving to Nashville to find her way in the industry. That did not come without cost,

66

as any struggling musician knows there are hungry nights, wondering how you will get by until your next paid gig. “There are only so many days you can sit in a van with 5 people” she said. Kevin her boyfriend of four years plays bass guitar in the band. Although engaged, they have no plans to immediately marry due to not needing that piece of paper. We’re in “no big hurry” she said. After watching her videos, one can see she was meant for the beautiful white dress. Kevin is the first man she has ever felt worthy of letting into her life or her home, which they share with his 13 year old son. She has no plans for other children, “I am past that stage at this time in my

life. I have no time for anything but music and touring”. Her art extends beyond music doing art with old guitars, cow skulls and trademark Top Hats. I asked her worst gig. No venue was bad, but she has been misplaced (as she put it) by agents. Once booked in New Ulm, MN her opening act was an oopmah band and they looked at us like we were slaughtering children as we started to play”. She begged them to just get through it together, got the crowd to agree, and had some awesome German sausage and beer! One show, she walked on stage to a sea of cowboy hats expecting country. They rushed the stage unplugging their equipment. As she searched for her missing guitar player who had walked off-stage, she realized a bar up the street was playing rock and roll to a much younger crowd so she told the “Sea of angry cowboy hats” to go down the street if they wanted to hear country. After a completely crowd swap, everything turned out fine… well for them anyway. Later that evening at a cafeteria she met that other band, who said it was really weird night. All these cowboys showed up and demanded country music so it kind of killed their buzz. She just laughed never told them it was her. Another time she was playing an event and mid-show the techs unplugged her and said she had to go immediately to another stage to open for Rob Zombie who’s opening band was a no show. She was nervous as they are

not a metal band, and knew there would be some consequences. During the show she was heckled so badly by a man who nonstop gave her the finger yelling chicks don’t belong in metal. John 5 from Rob Zombie was watching the entire show from side stage so she knew she needed to do something to show she could hold her own no matter what. During the last song in her set, she threw down her guitar and jumped over the barricade and kicking that guy right in the face with both feet. She was immediately pulled behind the barricade by security. While laughing and running backstage, John 5 said, “yep that pretty was metal”. When asked where she saw herself a year from now, she said “Catapulting to the next level. I want all the props of someone like Lady Gaga, not having to be part of the set up, and a person who puts me in a costume with nothing to focus on other than the show at hand.” I doubt she would ever let anyone have full control though, as good as that sounds, she is the brains behind her music, songs, labels, merchandise and all that goes with touring. She has always had trouble with labels wanting signing her. Once she asked why they weren’t interested and they explained it in a way that made perfect sense. They want hamburger to mold she said. Hamburger is easy to mold and it’s cheap. When you’re finished with it, you just throw it away and get more. She is prime rib. There is nothing they can offer her that she isn’t already handling herself. She is ready and wants desperately to tour Europe when given the chance or with another headliner. She wishes she could do more on the West coast as well. She rides a 99 sportster and a 71 Triumph and together with Kevin, they have 5 motorcycles total. She compared her music journey to one of a biker who travels all around the country for events hoping just experience the journey, or a horseman who spends thousands to go to shows competing. It’s all the same context she said, spending all your time and money chasing a wild, far-fetched dream. She likes a lot of new progressive bands, but told me “Willie Nelson” was her favorite all time. He does everything from rock and roll, country, to jazz; you name it. She has tried playing other genres but found rock and roll was her fit. When asked about her religious beliefs, we talked for a while on that one, she believes everyone has to figure out their own journey with their higher power, who she believes is same one we all pray to. She believes you should live with hope, not fear. See Jasmine this month at Thunder Beach, Panama city .See her Fb page / website Jasminecain.com for all shows. Laurie Jo with Jasmine Cain

Oliver is 7 and will be 8 soon. He has a terrible bone condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, aka brittle bone disease. This rare disease has seriously affected his life. Oliver seems to have the most of his problems in his femurs and tibias. He has braved through over 60 fractures since he was born and has undergone 8 major surgeries. Oliver has metal telescopic rods in the long bones his legs (Fassier Duval Rods) that enable and support his vertical growth. Oliver had a amazing milestone on Easter Sunday; he was able to stand and try to control his balance. This is great news as he had been injured and underwent 2 major surgeries impairing his mobility for the last 10 months. He is now learning to walk all over again and working on rebuilding his strength. As Oliver grows he has new and changing needs requiring a bigger space to live with his walker, wheel chair, and service dog. The bigger space should include a bed lift and roll-in ADA shower creating a safe living space equipped with a closet that is accessible for him. We are having a fund raising event called Oliver’s Project to help Oliver get the space that he needs. It will be hosted by Old McMicky’s Farm located at 9612 Crescent Dr. Odessa, FL 33556. Our event will be held on May 27 2017 from 2 pm till 8:30 pm and will be one of the best events held in one evening. We also will be giving a donation to Oliver’s Community which helps children and families who suffer from Osteogenesis Imperfecta as well as Old McMicky’s Farm, both of which are 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. With the support of the Farm, the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 4408, and our great community we hope to make these dreams a reality!
