Another year in the books! These last few have been very different, that’s for sure! I am looking very positively into 2022 as there is a lot going on. First, we would like to thank Attorney Fran Haasch for continuing their magazine partnership with us here at Full Throttle Magazine & Multi-Media. I don’t look at our relationship as advertising, but rather a partnership as we are almost brand ourselves and our logo along with Fran Haasch on everything we do! And if you ever need an attorney for a car or motorcycle accident, you must call the Fran Haasch Law Group at 866-LAW-FRAN or wwwLAWFRAN.com BUTTTTTTT be sure to mention you saw her ad in Full Throttle Magazine or on our website or social media pages!!! That’s how they know their advertising is working after all! We are giving away $5,000 CASH or a new Indian Scout on January 29th!!!! YES, that is correct, this is the biggest poker run I have ever seen in the Tampa Bay Area! $5,000 cash or a brand-new Indian Scout motorcycle. This is going to be a great ride, and someone is going home very happy!!! The poker run will be a little different as the stops are going to be Winghouse on Hillsborough Ave., Quaker Steak and Lube, Riveters on Dale Mabry then back to Moramoto Tampa. But you won’t be picking cards at each

8

stop, you will be drawing numbers 1 thru 52 (as in 52 cards in a deck) and you will not know what those number mean until all the poker hands are turned in at 6pm. Then we will draw the cards and place them with each corresponding number. After the cards are placed, we will fill in the poker hands and no one will know who wins until the end when we figure out all the poker hands at 8pm. Andrew is a great guy, He is the owner of Moramoto, I brought this idea to him and he jumped on it!!! This will be a poker run you will want to go on! For more info visit www. floridafullthrottle.com Gibtown Bike Fest is also happening in January and this event never fails to entertain! There are ton of great bands playing this year like Diary of an Ozzman, Kiss America, Jezabelle and of course Bobby Friss! There are going to be tons of vendors both inside and outside and Full Throttle Magazine is hosting a 10-class bike show on Saturday January 15th. Registration for the bike show is 10am till 3pm with awards at 4pm. Registration is $20 for the 1st class, $30 for two classes and $40 for 3 classes. The Next Big event after Gibtown Bike Fest will be the Southwest Florida Music and Motorcycle Festival. This is going to be a threeday event at Bert’s Black Widow in Port Charlotte and the Twisted Fork. They are remodeling as we speak, and this place is going to be amazing when it is finished inside the dealership. We have great bands playing like Jasmine Cain, Maiden Cain, KISS America, Corssfire Creek and The Ben Allen Band just to name a few. We are looking for vendors and sponsorships for this huge 3-day event! If you would like to get involved call us here at Full Throttle Magazine and we can make that happen! 727-935-4875 or my cell Tony C 727-919-1743. I hope everyone has a great new year, let’s not forget that BIKE WEEK is right around the corner! I look forward to seeing everyone soon, be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon!

Count me among the lucky because by the time you read this I will have survived 2021! I told you it was my year, if that was not the case this would be a “In memory of Laurie Jo” post. Well, December flew by but not without many great events. Special thanks to all the groups, clubs, riding pages for your generous invites and all the love you've shown over 2021. We had more Christmas parties to attend than days of the month. So last year I wrote several of my New year's resolutions and yes I stayed true to myself except for the hair dye. Not ready for gray ! My new year's resolutions for 2022 are rather the same. Just to focus on myself and my kids and

14

stay out of trouble! My goals for 2022 are another story , I have many motorcycles related , some not. But all of them are possible if I try hard enough and you're helping with a few whether you know it or not. Soooo make sure you go vote for the Full Throttle girls on our facebook contest. Yes I am hoping one wants to take over my epic live streaming job, please ladies !! And I need someone to take the heat off. Now when they say “ That girl from Full throttle , she did it” well that can only be me for now , “Full Throttle Girls “ to the rescue :) Make sure you check out our Facebook page events section. We have listed all the events of all Harley dealers in FL for one, and every other event we find, we think will benefit our followers. It's a great resource that we put a lot of work into . Happy New 2022 , let's make it our year, it's possible. Peace and love to the biker world , Laurie Jo

Christmas has passed but the spirit of giving …and receiving continues because of Chris Cane and his friend Andre Kress of Corsa Moto Works www.corsamotoworks.com through “The CAANE Foundation” https://www. facebook.com/HurriCane675 . An emotional Andre Kress, principal partner at Corsa Moto Works met with me to share about his friend Chris Cane and the legacy he left behind. A legacy in my opinion that has likely saved lives. Through The CAANE Foundation (Chris’ Advocate Assisting Novice Enthusiasts), riders who are not quite well equipped as they should for their protection can go to The CAANE Foundation and get outfitted for free or for a simple donation. The CAANE Foundation receives and donates hundreds of used and brand new or nearly new jackets, gloves, boots, helmets. I have seen it with my own eyes. The place is filled with equipment. There is no shame in going to The CAANE Foundation asking for help to get outfitted or, to do it for a friend or a relative who needs it! You are likely to save someone’s life or your own. I was coming back from Tierra Verde, Florida on my s1000rr a few weeks ago followed by another bike who’s “pilot” seemed to think it was a good idea for him and his female companion to ride 100mph+ no helmet, sandals, shorts and t-shirt on. Chris Cane aka the “Gear Police” would have lost his bearings to see this guy. This “pilot” clearly wanted to race with me so in an attempt to defuse his stupidity, I slowed right down. This blue tone R1 straight short pipes “pilot” clearly needed safety gear. More importantly…he needed

40

some additional brain cells. The Fran Haasch Law Group is currently assisting The CAANE Foundation to set up as a charity organization. Andre Kress is determined to keep Chris’ legacy going. Staff, clients and volunteers help. Clients have come in simply to purchase new gear and donate it. Some give their used gear. Some even give brand new tires. If you are in need, there is a way through The CAANE Foundation. I think of riders who’s only mode of transport is two wheels and this could really make a difference. Andre Kress former founder of MANX Motorsports now principal partner of Corsa Moto Works located in Clearwater Florida specializes in European bikes as well as other brands of speed bikes, vintage and classic restorations. Kress met Cane back in 2010. Cane was one of Kress’ first client if not the first. They both shared the same passions and values and they both had Triumph’s Daytona 675. Another true “Collision of Dreams” Relics Retreats “A Collision of Dreams” © | No Strings Attached - ENews (nsaen.com) took place. Both became brothers hence the emotional Kress during our talk for this editorial. Corsa Moto Works’ values have been greatly influenced by Kress’s profound respect for danger. They cut no corners and they will do what they can to help riders “change statistics”. All that said, you need gear? You can’t afford it? Or you know someone who needs gear who can’t afford it and you can’t either? Touch base with The CAANE foundation. For those of us who can afford to donate, you would not be making a mistake by donating I assure you. I wish you all a superb year 2022. Count your blessings for living in Florida riding all year round and, be thankful for the fearless leadership of our sunshine state. https://www.facebook.com/FloridaNightTrain

Did they give you any idea what kind of motorcycle you won? They gave me an idea, and I actually helped build it. In the beginning, I put the engine in it. I put the transmission in it, and I picked the paint and the seat — all that. How does it feel to have a one-of-a-kind OCC chopper? Oh my God, it's like a dream come true. It really is. So Joe, now that you’ve seen the bike, what do you think? Now that I’ve seen the bike, I’m really just blown away! I couldn’t be any happier! Everything and everyone just came together for me and absolutely nailed it.

What, really, is your idea of a ‘dream chopper?’ Let’s start with your chopper being built by one of the greatest of all times — Paul Teutul Sr., founder of Orange County Choppers. Pair that with your own creative ideas for a unique gas tank, fender, handlebars, and a really cool paint job, and it doesn’t get better, right? We at Orange County Choppers thought for sure that this bike design was the best idea yet. “I don’t think it could get better,” said Paul Sr. “I get to work with an individual winner of a very cool contest.” My name is Joe. I'm from Poconos, Pennsylvania, and I entered the Dream Chopper competition online thinking that I was just going to be on their mailing list. Little did I know that I would have thousands of people voting for me. Everybody came together, voted for me… and I won! I couldn't believe it. How did you get into riding? I was in the Army in 1990 during Desert Storm and a couple of friends had motorcycles. I was 23. So, I asked one guy to take me for a ride. He took me for a ride on the back of his Honda Magna, and I loved it. It was down in Florida. There were beautiful roads, and I just loved the feeling of the wind in your face and everything. And, from then on, I had motorcycles. How did you feel when you won? I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. I'm on cloud nine.

Is the bike everything you expected? The bike is even more than I expected! I mean, that thing is mine, and I’m gonna show it off to the world. What do you think about the whole unveiling experience? The whole unveiling experience was phenomenal! It’s one I’ll never forget, for sure! When Paul Sr. rode in on the bike and I could hear it, my heart started to purr!

Where’s the first place you’re going to ride your bike to? The first place I’m going to ride the bike to is Washington D.C. to see the monuments with the Mrs. We’ll make several stops along the way too and take lots and lots of pictures, making awesome memories. What was the experience like working with the guys from Orange County Choppers? The whole experience working with OCC was just unbelievable. I mean, these guys wasted no time getting us in there after I won the contest, and then we started building on day one!

Who else gets to do that? This guy! Well, what I’d like to say to Paul Sr. is, “Thank you very much for being involved in this competition, for giving me the bike, and just being an all-around great guy to everybody; this is phenomenal.”

Joe Rasulo is a U.S. Army veteran and former detective who received his custom bike on June 26, 2021, at the new OCC location in Clearwater, FL. The Dream Chopper competition gave Joe the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design his dream ride with Paul Sr. and the OCC crew. The Dream Chopper competition also benefited the Hudson Valley SPCA, a no-kill animal sanctuary in the Newburgh, New York area. It is also the only source of Humane Law Enforcement in Orange County. The dedicated staff and team of volunteers protect and defend animals and actively seek loving homes for every one of them. The nonprofit receives funding solely from donation contributions. OCC has been a long-time supporter of the HVSPCA. “The last donation literally saved the shelter. With COVID, we were unable to do the 5 big fundraisers we do every year, and donations were down by 40%. The Hudson Valley SPCA has been in existence since the late 1800s, and we plan on making sure it is still here 100 years from now.” – Joan Kay, CEO of Orange County Choppers, and president of HVSPCA.
