Wow, 2019 has been a year of change and excitement here at Full Throttle Magazine. We are growing bigger and bigger everyday and new opportunities seem to keep popping up everywhere! Right new we are getting ready for Daytona Beach Bike Week where we have a bike show or event almost every day! We have a few shows at the Grandview Live, The Speedway Bike Show on Saturday March 16th with $1000 best in show and $500 judge’s choice and of course the biggest bike shows in all of Daytona, The Boardwalk Bike Show on Friday March 15th! The best location, and usually has over 200 motorcycles. We have over 50 trophies to hand out and 18 classes of bikes! If you have a bike you would like to show off and try and win a trophy, contact us or just look in this month’s magazine for all the great bike shows while in Daytona Beach for Bike Week. Since Purchasing the magazine 6 years ago, our offices have been located above Capt. Jacks Restaurant in Tarpon Springs. We have since outgrew this location and had a great opportunity come our way for a new office about a half mile north on Pinellas Ave. (Alt. 19) SO….. the Full Throttle Offices are Moving! The new address is 1844 N. Pinellas Ave. Tarpon Springs FL 34689. We will be hosting an open house and bike night on the 4th Wed. of every month starting in March. Come by and visit our new office and get a free gift! We will have hot dogs and burgers, beer, music, games and much more! We also have a few offices for rent in the same building
8
next to our offices. If you are looking for space to rent, contact us at 727-935-4875 or e-mail me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com. Prices are reasonable and the build in beautiful. There are 2 offices available one is about 1500 sq. foot and the other is about 3000 sq. ft. both with a nice lobby area. The 2019 Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational was, by far, the largest event ever put on by Full Throttle Magazine. The attendance was huge with the police estimating between 40,000 – 50,000 over the 5-day event! We started Wed. Night with a bike night and then went Thursday thru Sunday with great bands, entertainment, bike shows, and we even gave away a custom bagger! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this the event it was from the Full Throttle staff and volunteers, the vendors, bartenders, parking attendants, food trucks, and of course the Sponsors who help keep this a free event to the public! We had Dave Ankin from Toy Makerz there and Paul Sr. From OCC along with custom bikes from all over the USA competing for $20,000 in cash and prizes in the Bike Builder Invitational. What a great time and a great turn out. We are starting to plan next years event now so please let us know who you would like to see perform at the 2020 expo or if you would like to be a sponsor. Sponsorships come with 12 months of advertising with Full Throttle Magazine. Be safe while riding, especially in Daytona. Remember when you see the out of state license plates to be careful. They haven’t been able to ride in the winter up north so they may be a little rusty at riding. Please don’t drink and ride, there are plenty of tow companies like Moto-Tow who will help you get home or to your hotel room with your bike, so be safe and be smart, you don’t want to go to jail in Daytona Beach! Happy birthday to my Dad, Paul Cianci, love you pops and thank you for everything! Be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and I will see you soon!

Are you too short for your motorcycle?
Through the years, I’ve had plenty of women riders come to my Ride Like a Pro course. Many of those women were quite small in stature. Occasionally, I’ve also had some rather short men as well. These smaller women and the shorter men riders all have one thing in common. They feel they must have both feet absolutely flat on the ground. To accomplish this, they invariably lower their bikes. This is especially true when they are on Harley baggers. Lowering the bike ruins the ride quality and limits the lean angle. A short rider with limited skills on an 850 to 900 lb. motorcycle is not the best way to go. There are much better motorcycles for smaller riders. In the Harley lineup, the Softails sit very low to the ground. Whether it be the Heritage, Low Rider, Softail Slim, Deluxe, etc., if you’re between 5’2” and 5’4”, these bikes should just about have you flat footed right out of the showroom. At the very least, on anyone of the Softails, you should be able to get the balls of your feet on the ground and that, combined with some skills, is all you need. In addition, Harley makes the reach seat and the super reach seat. These seats put you lower to the ground and
16
closer to the handlebars. If you tend to carry lots of stuff, there are both hard and soft bags available from Harley-Davidson and the after-market. The Softail line, in addition to being great around town bikes, are just as capable at touring for hundreds of miles in a day. As for the metric bikes, Kawasaki makes the Vulcan S. A 650cc bike with a six-speed transmission and a sport bike motor. This bike was especially designed for shorter riders and can be adjusted to fit any size rider. Plus, the sport bike motor has all kinds of power. Equipped with a windshield and bags, you’ve got a fine tourer that weighs 600 lbs. instead of 850 lbs. There are plenty of other choices from Japan and England as well for shorter riders. Simply go to their websites and check the specs page. This is not to say that a 5’3” woman or man can’t handle a 900 lb. bike. They can, if they have excellent skills. My wife Donna, as an example, rides a 2017 Ultra with ease, but she has top notch skills. She’s 5’3” and the only modification on her bike is the super reach seat and kickstand extension. With today’s motorcycles being as good as they are, do you really need a 900 lb. tourer when the majority of your riding is around town or for a 150-mile day ride? All the bikes I’ve mentioned are perfect for the shorter rider and make great touring bikes when equipped with some luggage. Whatever you do, don’t lower the suspension on your bike. That will make it ride like it has no shocks and severely limit your lean angle. Limiting the lean angle creates a danger when you need to avoid an obstacle or even on a twisty road. So, get some training, get the right bike for your size and get a lower seat or some pull back bars and ride safe. Till next month, get out there and practice. “Motorman” www.ridelikeapro.com

I would like to thank each one of you that came out to help make the 21st Annual Full Throttle Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational the biggest bike event in the history of Tampa/St. Pete area! What a party it was! Everywhere I went everyone was laughing and smiling and having a great time. It just goes to show you what several motivated individuals, some AMAZING sponsors and a ton of volunteers can do when we set out to achieve a goal. If your out and about and happen to see any of those event sponsors: Attorney Fran Haasch, All around the Clock Bail Bonds, I-Motorsports (Indian),Tampa Triumph, Carol Hill, Mototow, Bert’s Barracuda Harley-Davidson, Moramoto, Green Thumb Remedies, Spin Wurkz, Michelle Osborne of Cape Securities and the City of Pinellas Park, make sure to give them a big “Thank You!” because without their support and dedication to the biker community, we couldn’t have made this happen. (I am sure I missed a few in there, my
34
apologies!) In other news, its almost time to pack the big bags, load ‘em up and head on over to Daytona for the yearly pilgrimage to BIKE WEEK!! This year we have a ton in store: multiple cash prize bike shows at the Boardwalk and at the Daytona International Speedway, custom trophies from J-Sizzle Concepts, nighttime bike shows at Grandview Live Gentlemen’s club and our newest addition, The Hard Rock Hotel, where we have a myriad of things planned to include the Official Kory Souza No Class Bike Show in the Hard Rock Ballroom. FROM WALL STREET TO MAIN STREET WALL STREET RIDES Invest Smart | Ride Safe Michelle Osborne www.fromwallstreettomainstreet.com mosborne@capesecurities.com Office: 754-MONEYAM /754-666-3926 Cell 727-459-4875 Office 727-290-2762 Since March is that time of year when taxes are your biggest worry, I thought we could address some of those issues this month. The market ended up flat last year. You may or may not have capital gains to consider or the sale of investments or asset. Last year being an overall good year, you should still have gains in your investment portfolio. This year you can reap the benefits or help offset many changes made in 2017 to the tax laws. Some of the changes include the loss of a lot of many personal exemptions and the abolishment of the alternative minimum tax. A happy change is a bigger standard deduction. Another tax advantage created will affect capital gains on the sale of a business. There are new “opportunities” in the investment world derived from the new tax laws that may help you. These “opportunity funds can actually defer the capital gains on the sale of a business or appreciated investments. It can also defer the gains of the investment inside the fund as well as the income created within the fund. With smart estate and financial planning the taxes can be permanently avoided to include growth inside the investment vehicle and income for the remainder of the investment vehicle. As part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the government created “opportunity zones” for accredited investors. They designated 12% of qualified census tracts for the projects to encourage redevelopment in those areas. These types of investments are invested in real estate to spur growth in the designated areas deemed “opportunity” by the government standard. Often they can create income with no depreciation recapture after 10 years. By adding a diversified portfolio to these funds in your portfolio, you can take advantage of many “opportunities” these tax laws are allowing for income and capital growth off of any investment. These are just a few of the things to consider for the investor with
capital gains issues. Appropriate allocations for funds are very important and the tax implications must be considered, especially in an environment where market appreciation has become the norm. Some of the other issues my clients have faced with today are the taxes when taking income, especially from retirement accounts. It is still a requirement at 70 ½ that you must start taking distribution from any retirement funds. In addition if you are looking at moving your 401k or take an early “in service” distribution while still working, be sure to let a professional like myself handle any reposition of your retirement, business, assets. As always, I am here to help you, your accountants and attorneys, to make sure you have the best advantages for your investment capital. It is important to look at all factors in your financial house, such as market risk, creditor risk, tax situations and your estate plan before any making any investment. I will help you understand all of your options as well as work closely with your other advisors to make sure all of your bases are covered for the long term. After many years in this business I see a lot of mistakes that can be avoided by having me review any situation of capital gains or investment opportunities. Whether it is your investment portfolio or a major change in life such as retirement including the possible sale of your business or current investment portfolio, give me a call first. ………………………Happy Riding March Article Additional Disclosure; Wall Street Rides, Cape Securities or myself are not tax professionals, all readers should consult their accountant or tax attorney regarding all tax matters.

Hey Ya'll ! Can you believe that it's March already!? What a fabulous event the Expo was. Loved seeing all the people who came out to enjoy. So proud of all the love and support from the biker community. I still can't believe that an empty Bert's Barracuda lot was transformed into an event comparable to Leesburg bike Fest. I would like to thank all the vendors that came out. Next year will be even bigger and better. It's always great to ride with friends who ride, but also as the number of women that ride grows so does the number of women that ride on the back getting wind therapy. My SaSSy

Welcome to the Daytona addition of the Back Yard. It’s Daytona Bike Week time of year again. Loads of things happening this year, but when you get to Daytona it may look a little different then it has been in years past. We will be at the Hard Rock Hotel this year and out at the Speedway, also several ride in bike shows all around Daytona including the worldfamous Boardwalk Bike Show. So, plenty of places to show off your bad ride. Also, for the 1st time there will be concerts out at the City Stadium on LPGA blvd. They have a great line up so be sure and go check that out. Main Street will be a mad house as always and Destination Daytona will be hopping again, but new things will be happening all around the Daytona area so be sure and get out there and ride. Full Throttle will be doing a bike show not far from Daytona in Deland which is a
44
nice ride from Daytona. With changes in Daytona, not as much happening right in the city of Daytona but still plenty of places to go all around the area even a great ride to Orlando where Orlando Harley Davidson always throws a big party. So, everyone please ride safe over to Daytona and while you there we hope you have a wonderful time. If you bringing you bike the Daytona Trailer week when you get into town remember bikes are everywhere, so slow down and look twice in those big intersection they have there. Well that’s about it from the Back Yard. Ride safe everyone and remember to Always Keep Your Stick On The Ice... MONGO

Hey there Full Throttle readers! Merry March! While the rest of the country is thanking old Punxsutawney Phil The Groundhog for the prediction of an early spring, and waiting it out in the sub-zero temperatures, we have been enjoying the sunshine and warm breezes down here in The Keys. Christy and I left the tropical comfort of our island to come up for The Full Throttle Expo and Bike Builders Invitational last month at Bert’s Barracuda in Pinellas Park and man was it a blast! We had Paul Tuttle Sr. come by and meet the crowd, take some photos. We also had David Ankin from History Channel’s Toy Makers in the house along with countless amazing motorcycles and tons of live music! Lita Ford and Vixen even took the time to come out from back stage and take some photos on the competition bikes! Needless to say it was a huge success and we want to thank everyone that came out and supported. The future of the Expo looks bright at Bert’s. Down here in The Keys Spring is the time that the Snow Birds start headed back north, and while we love having them here, it frees up the roads. That being said, traffic up and down US-1 gets a little lighter. No bet-
ter time for a ride. So, as I say every month, it’s a great time to hop on your bikes and cruise on down. Take your time, see the sites, breathe it in. We have a few events coming this month in Key West that are a great excuse to do just that. March 2 is the Conch Shell Contest. For more than 50 years this challenge has been a staple in Key West. Held at the Oldest House on Duval Street it celebrates the importance of the conch in The Keys. Also, Saint Patty’s Day is this month, and Key West is one of the best places in the country to celebrate it. The 41st Annual St. Paddy’s Day Stroll starts at The Southernmost Beach Café on March 16 at 11 am. Finally, The Naval Air Station Key West 2019 Southernmost Air Spectacular starting the Blue Angels Navy Flight Demonstration Team is Mar 30-31. This year’s theme is “Women in Aviation” focusing on the “Future in Flight”. Other performers are the Misty Blues All Woman Skydiving Team and Wing Walker Ashley Shelton. If you have never seen a Blue Angels Air Show, there is no better time than the present, and no better place than Key West. For all of our Lady Bikers, you definitely want to support this shows theme! Well folks, as we always say, any reason to ride The Keys is a good reason. We hope to see you down for any event we have to offer all the way down here at The Bottom.
