First of all, I want everyone to know how much I appreciated their help in getting the Expo back together after the huge storm/tornado that hit directly on the Expo on Thursday night. Myself and a few of the stage people and full throttle people we caught out in the storm running for our lives. It was one of the scariest things I have ever been in. Then to walk around after around at 1am in the morning looking at almost total destruction of tents, vendors, bars, bikes on their sides thinking the worst. I went home and get dry clothes and about two hours of sleep and returned to see so many people there helping everyone. It made me proud and encouraged and honestly was one of my favorites parts about the expo. The community coming together to help Fran Haasch, Bert’s Barracuda, random vendors they don’t event know. I love this community and all it stands for. Helping people in need. Being there when others feel like they lost everything….. because at one point, that was me…. I honestly didn’t know if the expo would continue after Thursday night’s storm damage. But you gotta keep on keepin’ on, life’s a garden man, dig it. We made it happen and the show went on! I love this motorcycle community, and I will do everything in my body to continue putting on the best events I can so you all can come out and have a great time! I have been up and down since the Expo this year, that’s the truth. But after looking at what could have happened, and what did happen. It puts a smile in my heart and the intensity needed in my veins to move forward and do it all again next year, if not sooner. The Expo was a huge success thanks to this community understanding that we are trying to bring in bigger and better bands. Understanding

8

that by doing that, there might be a reasonable ticket charge. And sponsors that believe in what you are doing. Without our amazing sponsors like Bert’s Barracuda, The Diva Angels, Fran Haasch, Moroamoto, iMotorsports, Shortkids Hive, Quaker Steak and Lube, 98 Rock and so many more, this Expo would have never happened. Those are the ones we need to support. The people sponsoring events, buying ads and spending their hard-earned dollars back in the motorcycle community. Much love to all, I could never list the people that helped make this happen, as there are so many, but please know, I appreciate every single one of you who stepped up and helped in any way! Bike Week is here!!! Full Throttle will be doing what we do with our bike shows all over Daytona Beach and beyond. We will be in Deland the first weekend at Deland Bike Fest. Then we have a bike show with the Rats Hoe for the first time ever on Wednesday! Then Thursday night will be our Crazy Nighttime bike show at Grandview Live, with registration you get into the club for FREE! Friday is of course the BORADWALK BIKE SHOW! I want to see over 200 bikes entered in the show this year, please pass the word, if you have a bike, we have a class for you! 20 classes, almost 60 trophies and the best location and atmosphere to host a bike show in Daytona Beach, Right on the Boardwalk at the end of Main Street. Then on Saturday we will be hosting two shows at once! The first show is at the Daytona International Speedway and the second show will be at Rossmeyers Harley-Davidson. Then we will be at the Kory Souza 4th Annual No Class Bike Show at the Ocean Center. Kory Souza’s show is going to be amazing and not one to miss! We hope to see everyone in Daytona for Bike Week. Feel free to call us at any time for info or check out our Facebook page www.facebook.com/FLFTmag all of our bike shows and events will be posted on there numerous times with all the info. IS COUNTER STEERING INSTINCTUAL? There’s only one aspect of riding a motorcycle properly where your instinct is correct. Semi-instinctual, that’s counter steering. Before I go on, I’ll define what’s commonly known as counter steering. I prefer the term “push steering” since it’s a lot less confusing. What push steering/counter steering means is in order to change direction at speeds above 15 mph as in; when rounding a curve, you must push forward on one of the grips. To go left, you push forward on the left grip; the motorcycle leans left and goes left. To go right, you push forward on the right grip; the motorcycle leans right and goes right. Under normal conditions, many riders have no problem push steering/counter steering even though most riders don’t even realize they’re doing it. If you’ve ever rounded a curve at speeds above 15 mph on your motorcycle, you’ve push steered/counter steered. So, why do I say push steering/counter steering is only “semiinstinctual”? If you must push steer/counter steer in a hurry, as in an emergency, chances are you will do the opposite. Here’s the scenario—You’re cruising down the left lane passing a vehicle in the right lane. The driver in the right lane starts to drift into your lane. About half of you will attempt to turn your handlebars to the left, away from that vehicle. That is mainly due to being used to driving a four-wheeled vehicle and it works great in a four-wheeled vehicle. However, on the two-wheeled vehicle, that quick defensive turn to the left amount to a push forward on the right grip. That of course will cause the bike to lean right and go directly into that vehicle. Here’s another scenario. You’re speeding straight down the highway when a vehicle pulls out from your right to cross the highway and your path of travel. You try to steer to the right to get around the back of that vehicle, that quick reflexive turn of the bars to the right causes the bike instead to lean left and go left directly into the vehicle you were trying to avoid. I’m aware that many of you out there riding motorcycles for years don’t believe a word I’ve just written. If you’re one of those riders that doesn’t believe me or, don’t understand the push steering/counter steering phenomenon, here’s any easy way to prove to yourself how it works. Get on your motorcycle, get above 15 mph and give a little push forward on one of the grips. I’ll wait right here while you try it. Ok, you’re back. Now that you understand how it works and that I’m not feeding you a line of bulls%&! let me show you how to use push steering/counter steering to your advantage all the time, even in an emergency situation. First, find a deserted road or a parking lot with enough space to get to 15 mph or above. By the way, the reason you can’t push steer/counter steer below 15 mph is that the gyroscopic effect of the two spinning wheels of the motorcycle is not strong enough to overcome the force of gravity wanting to pull you down to the ground. Now all you do is push forward on the right grip, then the left grip and feel the bike lean and swerve from side to side. Next, set up five or six cones or any kind of markers you have at 30’ apart and weave through them at 20 mph. Do this until you avoid all the cones without slowing down or using any braking. To see how push steering/counter steering can help you on a winding road, start turning some big circles. When I say big, I mean at least 50 feet in diameter. The bigger the circle, the higher the speed you can obtain. As you’re circling, notice that if you push forward on the low side grip, the bike will lean further to the low side and the circle will tighten up the harder you push forward on that grip. At these counter steering speeds, it’s helpful to lean your body slightly toward the low side as well. Just make sure your head is level with the horizon. You may have seen racers leaning so far off the low side of their bike that they can even drag a knee on the ground. While I don’t suggest you go anywhere near the “hanging a knee off” extreme, you will find how much faster you can round a curve using this technique, (notice the body position in the pictures). Make sure you practice in both directions. The more you practice these simple exercises; the sooner push steering/counter steering will truly become instinct “all the time”. About 20 years of being published in USA and Canada in multiple languages has given me the privilege to serve and meet people who have helped me get where I am today enjoying my craft freely. I have met my share of celebrities, politicians, businessmen and women, editors etc… I came to realize the ageold truth in this world that there are those who “take” and those who “give”. That the ones who “give” are the ones who ultimately are most blessed. That is, when their motives are true, genuine and authentic. Their presence alone is contagious, and their character ends up being mirrored by their circle of influence in the communities they serve hence causing massive positive impacts throughout the community. I am anonymous. I am there but most do not see me. I like it that way. I silently observe and listen to my surroundings and the folks in the communities within the realm of my editorial boundaries. I like to do more listening than speaking and through this skill, incredible revelations come to light. I enjoy going to events, make rounds, shake hands, exchange smiles quietly, take notes and then I leave. I like to do that alone then ride off in deep reflection. That is when I am most creative. Today I write to you Fran and Rhett Jones as well as your entire team to lift you up. I have known you both since 2008 and I have been on the sidelines observing this canvas called life which you are both painting. Fran, your dad and mom devoted their lives to help others because they were the benefactors of true American generosity when they immigrated the blessed USA. They therefore created in Fran a spirit to help others. Rhett, you have worked your rear-end off always helping/serving in your family’s dare I say “shadows” and their business supporting wherever and whenever the needs came-up. Both of you over the past 20 years or so have made such an impact through your altruistic vision. We can see tangible results each day in our communities. The list is too long to enumerate now. I believe we can “see” tangible results yes. I also know beyond the shadow of a doubt there are myriads of “unseen blessings” that have been bestowed upon the less fortunate and those in need because and through your selflessness. Indisputably, the biker community has been touched in more profound ways than I can describe with mere words. I am speaking of the thousands of communities of bikers who have overwhelmingly embraced the philanthropic altruistic vision you contagiously infused in our hearts and minds. I am so incredibly filled with gratitude to witness this growing communal osmosis. I can already hear both of you say “it is we who need to say thank you”. “It is we who have been blessed beyond measures to serve the less fortunate as a result of and through your trust and faith in us”. “It is we who are privileged beyond all hopes to be part of such an incredible community of caring souls and giving hearts. Not a day, not an event, not a claim and not a conversation no matter how marginal, goes by where we are not remembering there is a much greater picture than the eye can see here”. And you would be correct, but we all know these are reflections of your hearts proving your genuine identity as “givers”. The recent 2020 EXPO was a prime example of your influence within hearts. On the eve of this amazing event, mother nature was sending us all signals that she would have a moment of temper. The air was moist. The clouds looked heavy. The sky overcast. The winds were whistling through the vendors tents. All present were excited, but we could sense the tension. We were all so ready for a good time. Lets face it. We all “needed” it! Came time to get the concerts started, it was delayed because of strong winds. Do you see the picture? Then Jasmine Cain came on stage in front of a very small crowd. This girl gave it all she could regardless. She put all her heart in it and it showed. Followed by Buckcherry who performed and delivered for the crowd regardless. The audience dwindled down and it was frankly an earlier night than we all wanted it to be. Then came the night and with the night came disastrous weather. Like a “Night Train” the storms made for an especially harrowing sweep over Bert’s Baracuda’s, Quaker Steak & Lube and the vendor’s properties. By Friday morning, vendors were out and about, checking on each other, assessing damages and sharing stories. The storm’s power was clear just by looking at the twisted awnings, mangled tents and the main stage ripped on to the ground scattered around the lot. National Weather Service confirmed Friday afternoon a tornado “briefly touched down" approximately 4 miles south of Largo, “causing a narrow path of damage moving east-northeast across the county” over about 9 miles. According to the weather service, this was 50-yard wide tornado classified as weak with peak wind speeds hitting 85 mph.

So what is my point? Came Friday, the entire community displayed the incarnate ripple effect of your influence. The community’s heart was once again revealed. Giving, loyal and caring hearts. It was so incredibly powerful to witness. Despite today’s polarizing societal perspectives and despite the conflictual sociopolitical climate of our days, people of all paths answered the call and came in hordes helping vendors and cleaned-up the mess. Not surprisingly, both of you showed-up and helped. Approximately 100 bikers came to help. Among them were the Suncoast Brotherhood. Steve Chamberland of 50 Legs and volunteers did not spare any effort helping-out. Short Kids Hive, 98 Rock, iMotosports were all part of the solution going beyond the call of duty. Spirits were good and fraternal. Tony of Full Throttle Magazine did a fabulous job setting the EXPO yes. He and his team were not afraid to roll-up their sleeves to help. Same can be said of Andrew and his Moramoto team. They too are clearly raising the standards in the community and I am keeping a close eye on them. Bert’s Barracuda staff along with Bert himself; John his GM and Beth in Marketing were right there on site helping and doing all that needed to be done to help all vendors and performers look forward to a good Friday night regardless. Bill and staff of Quaker Steak & Lube did what they have done best for as far as I can remember helping all who needed. Came Friday night, all was ready. Spirits were high regardless with a renewed noticeable bond between people. The celebrations started over. The weather looked better. The mood was picking up. All in all, everything got back in gear and moving along just fine. Uncle Kracker, Jeff Vitolo’s Rebels and then the Bearded Brothers sure helped to pick-up the pace. It was still chilly, but all could sense this was only going to get better. Sure enough Saturday offered much better riding weather. On went the festivities with Daughtry, Fade to Grace and Bobby Friss who all did a superb job serving some pretty wicked guitar licks lifting spirits up. The crowd kept growing. Word came out this was happening and sure enough it was packed. By Sunday, everyone was stoked, and the place was humming. Our growing iconic good natured “Everywhere Eddy” showed up of course busy taking his trademark selfies. Greg Billings and 22 ND sure crowned the weekend in a royal way sending all of us back to normal life with great memories. All were welcome including competing mediatic colors because they too do good work in the community and we need to recognize that and bridge the gaps for the benefit of the needy out there. You see, the community reaped what they sowed through your inspirational mission of selflessness; all demonstrated kind hearts and unparalleled generosity for those in needs. There is not a single community I know of who is so caring towards their neighbors. I think this is in large part because of you both. You will tell me I would be remiss if I did not credit your team as well and I would respond that yes you are right. Other communities ought to take notes and take heed from this example. In conclusion here is the insight I am getting from all this, when you both along with your team are out there working on a case, I believe some of the unseen tangibles are that you in fact represent and defend cases for those who have already given so much to the community and people in need. That the biker who is down is a biker who otherwise could be out there, has likely been out there with you helping children in need or a widow or a veteran. That he or she used time and money to support causes dear to us all as a result of your influence and inspiration. I remain convinced that you and your team make it your personal business to champion the cause of your clients because in reality and in your heart of heart, a biker down is a biker that is kept from helping someone in greater need. What we do is far beyond what the eye can see. It “echos into eternity”. I am privileged to be part of it. Mother nature served us all a temper tantrum but in it all, she taught us and reminded us all how we truly are one on one big “Night Train” ride to rise above all conceivable hostilities or hardship life so lovingly serves us with so we can learn. Thank you Rhett, Fran and team!

Just announced is the Full Throttle ride to Sturgis for the 80th Black Hill Rally. Once again Full Throttle magazine will be camped out at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. But this year we are doing 42

a ride from our office in Tarpon Springs Florida to Sturgis. A 5-day ride across America leaving August 6th arriving in Sturgis August 10th. It is a 100 dollar buy in and that goes for gas for 2 chase trucks on the ride. One for all your luggage and the other with a flatbed trailer in case your ass is sore one day you can load up and ride in truck. Make your reservations now at Buffalo Chip by calling 605-347-9000 tell them you want to camp in the Full Throttle area of the Buffalo Chip. Well that’s it from the Back Yard. Ride safe everyone and remember. Always keep your stick on the ice... MONGO

I normally don't do recaps. I am always looking into the future and not the past. This is one time I have to look back. What an incredible Feb. I had. I got married to the love of my life and best friend on the Feb 1st to Laura Tolliver. I want to welcome her to the Full Throttle family and thank her for everything she does. The hours we put in here at Full throttle, it really takes a special person that enjoys the motorcycle world like we do. I want to Thank all who came to the wedding. I was so surprised when I turned to walk my beautiful wife back up the isle that Fran was there. I also want to thank my Best man Tony Cianci and Dan Sullivan for being there. Two days later we were setting up for the Expo. Two days after that we was rebuilding the expo after that Damn Tornado came through. What away

to spend a honeymoon. After thinking back on it I would not have it any other way. (I can say there is a very special trip in Laura's near future tho) We have to get through Daytona first. Which brings me to the future. We have put together once again a long week of Bike Shows. and entertainment for you. We will be out at the track the whole 10 days doing distro and promoting our Brand. We have shows From Deland to Destination and some in between, Look for our full list in the Magazine. Like always. Be free and ride safe. Les Tolliver - Sales Manager and Event Organizer Les.fullthrottlemagazine@gmail.com 727-534-4447

My name is Vicki Meek from Richmond, IN, and I would like to share a short story with all of you about the amazing experience that I had all thanks to Full Throttle Magazine. When I saw on Facebook that Full Throttle Magazine was having a Motorcycle Expo with one of the headliners being Uncle Kracker I just knew that I had to fly 1,000 miles from Richmond, IN to Clearwater, FL to see him. Seeing Uncle Kracker in person was on my “bucket list” as I am a huge fan (I had to learn how to use YouTube just so I could watch his videos every day.) Due to me not being able to walk very steadily, or stand for long periods of time, as well my best friend of 45 years who would be coming with me is a leg amputee, I decided to call Full Throttle Magazine just to see if there would be chairs available or handicap seating. Shawn was the wonderful person that answered my call. I asked the question “will there be chairs or handicap seating available and he responded “I’m not sure, let me get back with you.” So, when I received a callback from Shawn, he proceeded to tell me upon my arrival to the event come see him at the Full Throttle Magazine tent and he would take care of me personally. I was so excited just knowing that he would find me appropriate seating! I arrived at the event and as I approached the Full Throttle Magazine tent Shawn greeted me with open arms and was just as kind as he could be. We chatted for a while about lots of things, him being from Ohio, Veterans, my brother Sgt David A. Downing that was KIA in the Vietnam War, and the necklace he was wearing of “The Soldiers Cross”. He was so pleasant and I greatly enjoyed our conversation. And then, to my surprise he told me that he was moving me to VIP seating and I would actually get to go back in the green room to meet Uncle Kracker in person! OMG, I couldn’t believe it! I had to wonder if I was dreaming or if this was this reality. He really just told me that I would get to meet Uncle Kracker in person! Now the hardest part for me was deciding who do I take back with me to meet Uncle Kracker, my best friend of 45 years, or one of my daughters? As hard as the decision was, my girls told me to take my best friend. We went to VIP seating, and as promised before his performance, event staff came to get us and escorted us back to the green room to meet Uncle Kracker in person, and it was simply amazing! He (Uncle Kracker) introduced himself and was very inviting to us. He even let us take some pictures with him. When our visit was over we went back to our seating in VIP to watch his performance and as expected it was amazing, we enjoyed

48

it so much! At one point near the end of the show while singing Sweet Home Alabama, Uncle Kracker pointed to me and said “Indiana.” I was so surprised and excited that he would think to do that! I know that it might not seem much to some, but to me this has been an unbelievable and amazing experience and it is all thanks to Shawn and the staff at Full Throttle Magazine for making my dream come true. I could never thank them enough, or express how much this experience has meant to me. They will forever be in my thoughts and heart. A small gesture for some could be a huge impact in someone’s life, and this was a huge impact for me. They didn’t have to give me this experience but they chose to without question and I will forever be grateful for Shawn and the whole staff at Full Throttle Magazine! You guys are AMAZING!!! To all who have read the heartfelt thanks, and gratitude of Vicki Meek, I want to say that it was our pleasure to have made this “bucket list” dream a reality. Not once did Vicki ever ask for more than a simple chair to sit in. She did not ask to see her favorite musician, nor did she ever ask for special treatment upon her arrival. All Vicki said was “I am a huge fan of Uncle Kracker” and I cannot stand for a long time, is there seating available if I fly to Florida from Indiana? When I heard Vicki’s story of her bucket list, and how her brother was “KIA” killed in action, I could not help but tell her story to our owner, Tony. Tony, Les, and I came up with a once in a lifetime chance to make Vicki’s “bucket list” come true. Providing a pay it forward opportunity is something that I have watched Tony due in the past for our community, he has a huge heart and most certainly offers assistance when he can. Paying it forward in any facet is enough for someone to do the same, that is what we have offered to Vicki and her family. A small token of appreciation for her, and the sacrifice of her brother Sgt David A. Downing, a bronze star recipient for heroism. I encourage as many of you that can, pay it forward in any manner, to anyone.

Welcome to ERock’s World, I hope that everyone is doing well? As the Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational has come to a close for this year, we here at Full Throttle Magazine are getting back to the daily grind. First off, we most certainly need to thank each and every individual who came out and made the 2020 Expo great again this year. Yes, Mother Nature threw us a gigantic curveball (tornado) on Thursday evening, but we as a motorcycle community rallied together at daybreak on Friday and literally took a disaster, to an event in a few hours. With a rebuilt expo grounds on Friday afternoon we were back in business (as best we could) and bringing the fun and entertainment of the Expo to our community. For those of you who were able to attend the expo we hope that you enjoyed all that it had to offer. The bike builder invitational this year brought some absolutely amazing bikes,

54

from antiques to Batman, we had it all. Speaking of having it all, how could we not talk about the amazing concerts that rocked Bert’s Barracuda Harley Davidson. The lineup of headliners this year was superb, Buckcherry, Uncle Kracker, and Daughtry, what a great couple of nights we had. We too cannot forget all the local bands that made their way on the stage to add to the party. To each of you thank you! Last but certainly not least, we must give a monstrous shoutout to the vendors who were battered, beaten, and literally torn apart at the tent seams. Most every single vendor who was affected by the natural disaster picked up the pieces (literally), put themselves back together, and did everything in their power to still prosper. You are all extraordinary individuals, and we cannot thank you enough for being the strong willed, dedicated business owners that you are. Thank you So, in closing, thank you again and look for more events coming soon. As always live life full throttle and never let anything hold you back, not even a tornado. With our great motorcycle community nothing is impossible as we all have proven Friday at the expo. ERock out

4th ANNUAL KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS NO-CLASS BIKE SHOW - DAYTONA BIKE WEEK Where: Ocean Center - Beachside Convention Center 101 N. Atlantic Ave. Daytona Beach, FL 32118 When: Saturday March 14, 2020 Show starts at 6pm / Awards at 10pm / Party until 11:30pm / General Admission is FREE! The Kory Souza Originals No-Class Bike Show is back again for the 4th consecutive year - at our new home, Ocean Center - Beachside Convention Center. We're super excited to bring you an even bigger, better venue and the best bike show and party in Daytona! Make sure you click GOING or INTERESTED on this event page to be notified of all updates. ALL motorcycles are welcome - from restored vintage bikes to ground-up customs. Our motto remains the same: NO CLASSES, NO POLITICS, JUST A GOOD TIME... and our mission is to have the BEST there is to see in the motorcycle world all under one roof. We are looking for the coolest, most unique, innovative motorcycles with the highest level of attention to detail. We don't care if these motorcycles come from a household-name builder or someone we've never heard of who builds cool stuff in their 2-car garage at home. The KSO No-Class Bike Show is about keeping the custom motorcycle industry alive, being the premier event for builders to put all of their cards on the table with their latest builds, and inspiring the next generation of builders who will keep this industry we are so passionate about alive for years to come. Leave the industry politics and industry-wanna-be drama at the door and come ready to have some fun! If you've never experienced our No-Class format, it's pretty simple: every bike competes against all other bikes in the room. This is not about who spent the most money on their build or who you know. We bring in industry professionals from all ends of the custom spectrum to look for the bikes that stands out from the rest. Winners will receive amazing custom prizes and some pretty major bragging rights. Registered show bikes will arrive for set up from 3-5pm. As

the bike owners enter the building, they will stop at registration to sign in and receive their official KSO No-Class swag bag. General Admission doors open at 6pm. There is no cost for spectators to attend and everyone is welcome. Parking at the Ocean Center is $5 for motorcycles and $10 for cars. Guests will stop by the registration table to sign in and receive a wristband, register for our all-new silent auction (optional), and purchase raffle tickets (optional). Our silent auction, raffle, and live stage auction will a couple non-profit organizations that are very near and dear to our hearts. Get ready for the most bad-ass display of motorcycles at Daytona Bike Week, complete with music, entertainment, a chance to mingle with top custom builders and industry professionals, cold drinks, a variety of food options and an amazing charity fundraising trifecta. We will also have a fully stocked display of Kory Souza Originals apparel & parts. ***CARDS & CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR EVERYTHING MENTIONED ABOVE*** We have a limited number of spaces for show bikes, so preregistration is highly recommended. You can find the link to register at the top of this event page - or email us at info@korysouza.com for a direct link. Early-Bird registration is $40 (plus fees) per bike and is available to the first 50 registrants. Once the first 50 bikes have registered, the price will increase to $50 (plus fees) per bike and will be available until we are SOLD OUT. We will make announcements on this event page as we get close to selling out. The first 50 registrants will also receive a KSO swag bag. Registered bike owners will receive an email two weeks before the show with details for the event. This email will come from info@korysouza.com. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please contact Courtney at Kory Souza Originals at (941) 993-1812 or Info@KorySouza.com for details. Have something cool to donate to our auction? Custom painted skate deck - Yeti cup - plaque - helmet... etc, a unique piece of art, gift certificate, collector item... basically, anything of interest or value to a motorcycle enthusiast... We would love to add it to our list - and our non-profits will surely appreciate the support! Contact Courtney at (941) 993-1812 or Info@KorySouza.com.
