Well, August has been a crazy month here at Full Throttle. For the first two weeks we were in Sturgis! Hopefully you got to see some of our pictures and live streams we did. Sturgis is a blast and the riding there is absolutely amazing! We also stayed with CAMP EASY RIDE at the Buffalo Chip. If you love camping and don’t want to pack all the stuff that comes along with camping, Camp easy ride is your answer!!! Marcus did a great job and made our experience one that I will never forget! He even taught us how to play left, center right….. and of course, won twice in a row!!! We will definitely be staying with camp easy ride from now on at the major events and we think you should also! September is here and it is usually a little rainy, but the weather begins to change. Hopefully it starts to dry out a little and we can get the bike nights back up and running. You can find Full Throttle every Wednesday night at Quaker Steak and Lube and every Thursday night at OCC Road House! These are two great bike nights that have huge crowds and are a lot of fun. We are also looking forward to a few big events in September. First is the 9-11 Poker Run on the Cover of this month’s magazine happening at New Port Richey Harley on September 11th. This is a poker run that includes a t-shirt along with a $5 all you can eat French toast breakfast, vendors, Harley girls, live music by Big Engine and much more! Also on September 11th is the Zephyrhills Music and Motorcycles event in Downtown Zephyrhills. Full Throttle will be there hosting a bike show like we have done the past few years. This is usually a very big bike show with more than 50 bikes entered so get there early to get a good parking space! Third is the Adult Biker Bash also happening at

8

New Port Richey Harley on September 25th. This should be fun as it is for adults only with adult games and contests also with vendors, live music, bikini and boxer bike wash and a bike show by Full Throttle Magazine! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE 25TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY on November 7th at OCC Road House and Bert’s Barracuda Harley! We have so much going on that day including a corn hole tournament, a $500 Bikini Contest, 10 Class Bike Show, Our annual slow race for cash and of course FREE MONEY!!!!!!! All you have to do is sign up at the Full Throttle Magazine booth once with your name, phone number and email address and we will be pulling $100 cash prize winners all day long!!!! 5 (five) $100 winners at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. We like to give back to our readers on our anniversary and what better than getting cold hard cash! Special thanks to our sponsors, Occ Road House, Bert’s Barracuda Harley, The Fran Haasch Law Group West Coast Florida Riders and Andrew at Moramoto. This will be a huge event and one not to miss! Well, I've had better months, and worse. I got the delta blues that covid mess. I am still pretty sick as I write this, but it's on the upswing and I'll be back at it this month I expect. I was grateful to have time in my new home. I actually got it unpacked in between a sick family too. This month has brought the loss of too many close friends, business associates and names we recognize. It's scary as a single parent to question one's own mortality. But it also has me stop14

ping to smell the flowers (when I can smell them), and take care of tedious things like wills and life insurance. But living in the absolute present has been the goal and I seem to be there most days. We take risks to begin with in the biker world, adding one more it sucks but it's not going to stop life. I had a hard time with this at first.. No one likes to get sick, who knows what is next on this covid stuff . But then there is the loneliness and isolation of not living life. When it truly is your time no amount of staying home is going to change that calendar is my belief. Everyone has had their own covid struggle and there is no going back to the old ways ,only forward. I still agree this is my year, despite the rounds with covid I’m still here FULL THROTTLE . Peace and love to my biker family. And please get insurance on those bikes. Anything helps. Laurie Jo

The Gulf Coast Diva Angels had a fun and busy 2nd quarter getting out and riding a lot! Some highlights - A back roads ride to Twisted Fork & Bert’s Black Widow H-D in Port Charlotte after we met Lucy, the Thunder by The Bay organizer to present our check from the money we raised at that event. We went on an overnight ride to Leesburg for the Women’s Day Conference at Gator Harley Davidson where we enjoyed a country ride, great food, dancing, vendors, the famous fashion show and mardi gras games - a couple of us even enjoyed riding in rain on the way home! We rode to the Red Barn Flea

16

Market for more Diva wear then onward east to Charlotte’s Web Pub for a party, they have a good priced embroidery guy. Great times had by all! We also attended events for 5, 10, and 15 year anniversary milestones for Diva members and interviewed two new charities we will be supporting: Selah Freedom and Parenting Matters. Check out our newly vamped up website divaangels.org contains events, photos and meeting locations/times. “Like” us on our facebook page for meeting, ride, and other event details at fb.me/divaangelsgulfcoast or email gcdivaangels@gmail. com for more information. A Non-Compete or Non-Competition Agreement in Florida is governed by Chapter 542.335, Florida Statutes and can exist as a standalone document or as an individual clause in a broader contract that may also contain a non-disclosure covenant and/or non-solicitation covenant. I have seen all types of businesses use non-competition agreements, including doctors, medical practices, hair salons, medical device manufacturers, HAVAC companies, car dealerships, construction companies, pest control companies, roofing companies, financial service companies etc. Non-competition agreements are valid if they (1) are reasonable in geographic scope (the geographic area of the restriction; United States, Florida, Pinellas County, or a milage radius of the business seeking the protection); (2) reasonable in the time restriction (depending on the specifics of the business and employee, the restriction could be deemed reasonable if 6 months or less and in other situations where 5 years is presumed reasonable); (3) identify a legitimate business interest (“LBI) to be protected including identifying the line of work the business is in and the LBI to be protected such as: trade secrets, valuable confidential business information such as customer lists (if qualified), business know how, customer good-will, a specific geographic location, a specific marketing or trade area, or extra-ordinary or specialized training , and are (5) signed by the party whom enforcement if sought against. Non-Competition Agreements (or clauses) exist to protect companies from losing their employees, and the insider knowledge they possess, to their direct competitors. Florida law says “A court shall construe a restrictive covenant in favor of providing reasonable protection to all legitimate busi-

ness interests established by the person seeking enforcement .” If this sounds reasonable, that is because many non-competes do serve a legitimate purpose. However, if you are being hurt by an agreement that you may not even recall signing or its terms, then you may want to consult with an attorney that specializes in handling these types of matters. If you have a question about a non-competition agreement (or any other legal matter) or need to enforce one against someone or are trying to get out of one, call our office to set up a free 30 minute appointment by telephone or Zoom to discuss your case (just mention this article). Together we can work on a strategy to help you with your desired results.

In today’s age, no parent should be left in the dark or be the last to know about their child’s health and safety following an accident. Surprisingly, the national average for authorities to reach a victim’s family is about 6.5 hours. This is exactly what Christine Olson, mother of late Tiffiany Marie Olson went through. Tiffiany tragically died December 7th, 2005 at 7:01pm corner of US19 and 49th Street in Palmetto, Florida on her way to Quaker Steak & Lube bike night in Clearwater. Authorities reached Christine at 1:30am the following morning announcing the death of her precious daughter. As a result, Christine decided to launch a petition so this embarrassing national average would be narrowed down and so no parent would go through what she went through. With the support of the community and Rep. Bill Galvano, Florida State implemented an emergency contact program on October 2nd 2006. The program is “TIFF” (www.toinformfamiliesfirst.org) How does it work? Simple, you name your emergency contact right from your driver’s license so if something happens, they are the first to be called. Currently, 19 million drivers in Florida have registered. I am one of them. Have been for years. In fact, I have put my attorney Fran Haasch and her husband Rhett because I know they will have tactfulness to tell my children and, it will put Fran in the lead for insurance claims my family would otherwise not know how to handle as well. Besides, Fran and Rhett are family to me. But that is my personal choice. There are also 15 states that are following in Florida’s footsteps about this program now. TIFF

46

which stands for “To Inform Family First” provides nationwide law enforcements who you want to be notified when the unexpected happens. Christine is on a mission to spread awareness about this program with the passion only a mother could exert. In fact, October 23rd, 2021 a ride called “Rolling Purple Thunder” to raise awareness about the program will take place starting at the Bradenton Police Department 100 10th Street West in Bradenton FL 34205. Registration will be at 9am – KSU at 10am. TBACS will be leading the ride which will include the Skyway Bridge and be escorted by the Bradenton PD/Manatee

Sheriff. I am also told aerial pictures and videos will be shot. The ride is sponsored in part by The Fran Haasch Law Group as well as Florida Full Throttle and Quaker Steak & Lube. “This is right in line with the fact that October is Emergency Contact Info Month” said Christine. Receiving an international award in 2006 from American Association of Motor Vehicle Administration, and in recognition from The Ash Institute at Harvard University’s John F Kennedy School of Government as a top 50 government innovations in 2009, TIFF pursues with determination to reach families and government agencies with the solution to what Christine believes is a national crisis. Her story does not have to become yours but we need to join hands and forces and get this across our nation. Will you help her? Night Train: www.facebook.com/floridanighttrain

What, really, is your idea of a ‘dream chopper?’ Let’s start with your chopper being built by one of the greatest of all times — Paul Teutul Sr., founder of Orange County Choppers. Pair that with your own creative ideas for a unique gas tank, fender, handlebars, and a really cool paint job, and it doesn’t get better, right? We at Orange County Choppers thought for sure that this bike design was the best idea yet. “I don’t think it could get better,” said Paul Sr. “I get to work with an individual winner of a very cool contest.”

mine, and I’m gonna show it off to the world.

My name is Joe. I'm from Poconos, Pennsylvania, and I entered the Dream Chopper competition online thinking that I was just going to be on their mailing list. Little did I know that I would have thousands of people voting for me. Everybody came together, voted for me… and I won! I couldn't believe it.

The first place I’m going to ride the bike to is Washington D.C. to see the monuments with the Mrs. We’ll make several stops along the way too and take lots and lots of pictures, making awesome memories.

How did you get into riding? I was in the Army in 1990 during Desert Storm and a couple of friends had motorcycles. I was 23. So, I asked one guy to take me for a ride. He took me for a ride on the back of his Honda Magna, and I loved it. It was down in Florida. There were beautiful roads, and I just loved the feeling of the wind in your face and everything. And, from then on, I had motorcycles. How did you feel when you won? I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. I'm on cloud nine. Did they give you any idea what kind of motorcycle you won? They gave me an idea, and I actually helped build it. In the beginning, I put the engine in it. I put the transmission in it, and I picked the paint and the seat — all that. How does it feel to have a one-of-a-kind OCC chopper? Oh my God, it's like a dream come true. It really is. So Joe, now that you’ve seen the bike, what do you think? Now that I’ve seen the bike, I’m really just blown away! I couldn’t be any happier! Everything and everyone just came together for me and absolutely nailed it. Is the bike everything you expected?

What do you think about the whole unveiling experience? The whole unveiling experience was phenomenal! It’s one I’ll never forget, for sure! When Paul Sr. rode in on the bike and I could hear it, my heart started to purr! Where’s the first place you’re going to ride your bike to?

What was the experience like working with the guys from Orange County Choppers? The whole experience working with OCC was just unbelievable. I mean, these guys wasted no time getting us in there after I won the contest, and then we started building on day one! Who else gets to do that? This guy! Well, what I’d like to say to Paul Sr. is, “Thank you very much for being involved in this competition, for giving me the bike, and just being an all-around great guy to everybody; this is phenomenal.” Joe Rasulo is a U.S. Army veteran and former detective who received his custom bike on June 26, 2021, at the new OCC location in Clearwater, FL. The Dream Chopper competition gave Joe the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design his dream ride with Paul Sr. and the OCC crew. The Dream Chopper competition also benefited the Hudson Valley SPCA, a no-kill animal sanctuary in the Newburgh, New York area. It is also the only source of Humane Law Enforcement in Orange County. The dedicated staff and team of volunteers protect and defend animals and actively seek loving homes for every one of them. The nonprofit receives funding solely from donation contributions. OCC has been a long-time supporter of the HVSPCA. “The last donation literally saved the shelter. With COVID, we were unable to do the 5 big fundraisers we do every year, and donations were down by 40%. The Hudson Valley SPCA has been in existence since the late 1800s, and we plan on making sure it is still here 100 years from now.” – Joan Kay, CEO of Orange County Choppers, and president of HVSPCA.

The bike is even more than I expected! I mean, that thing is
