Hello and Happy October! Biketoberfest and Halloween .... two great reasons to love the month of October! Motorcycles .... pumpkins .... motorcycles .... popcorn balls .... motorcycles .... costumes ..... motorcycles .... candy .... wow, that’s a tough decision on which one I like best! Wait a minute, I got it, candy motorcycles! The best of both worlds .... I love October! You can find the Full Throttle staff in numerous locations around Daytona. We will have FT tents sent up at The Iron Horse Saloon and JP Cycles Thursday thru Sunday. We will also be sponsoring the Boardwalk Bike Show on Friday afternoon on Main Street and at the Rat’s Hole Show (that will be held at Destination Daytona for the first time) on Saturday afternoon. Last but not least, Saturday night we will host our famous “Let’s Get Crazy Party” at the Americano Hotel, 1260 Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach. If you’ve never been to one of these wild events .... you’re missing on hell of a fun time! It’s free, drink prices are affordable and there are plenty of giveaways and prizes! We will also be at the Cotee River Bike Fest October 9-11 and this is one fantastic three day party! Dan Sullivan does a wonderful job booking bands, finding vendors and setting up one of the top events in the Tampa Bay area. CRBF draws from the entire Central Florida area and the City of New Port Richey makes for a super location. Full Throttle will run the bike shows and live music includes Wiley Fox, Sean Chambers, The Jimmy Sparks Band and Bobby Friss. We’ve picked the date for our 13th Annual Anniversary Party and it will be Sunday November 22, 2009. The mega-blast will be held at The Round Up, on Hillsborough Avenue located on the Pinellas / Hillsborough County lines and feature vendors, live music featuring The Dive Bar Stalkers, numerous prizes and giveaways, our annual slow race championship race and a wet t-shirt contest! For additional information give us a call at 813-814-1424. Have a great October and I want to wish a Happy Anniversary to Tony & Kandi (wow!) and a happy birthday to Dew. Please party responsibly and don’t be scared of the Great Pumpkin!

Here we are, right in the heart of the best riding weather Florida has to offer! The only bad thing is the sun sets so early! October, November and December are some of the busiest months we have here with the magazine and the motorcycle industry. It seems there are thirty events every weekend and you just can’t do them all. So be sure to look online for recaps from events if you do not see them in the magazine or pictures from all the events we go to that we can’t fit in the recaps. In fact we will be posting the pictures on our Myspace and Facebook pages for everyone to view and/or make comments. BECOME A FAN OF FULL THROTTLE ON OUR NEW FULL THROTTLE FACEBOOK FAN PAGE. Just search FLORIDA FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE and we will pop up or click on the link on the front page of our website. At press time we already have over 450 friends. We will be posting topic’s to talk about, upcoming events you should be attending, news and updates and great stuff for the motorcycle community! Full Throttle is really looking forward to Cotee River Bike Fest Oct 9-11, BIKETOBERFEST Oct 15-18, Palm Harbor Bike Fest November 21st and of course our 13TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY on November 22nd at The Round Up On Hillsborough Ave. near Race Track Road in Oldsmar! We have some great surprises in store for our Anniversary Party this year….Have you seen the logo? We will have shirts available, great raffle prizes like always, awesome bands and one of the best locations to have the event in a long time. There will be plenty of room for vendors, bike parking, bike games and much more! This is always an awesome party, see you there! I would like to take a second to wish my wife, Kandice, a Happy Anniversary on October 10th. If any of you know me or us you may know it has been a bumpy road. I would like to send a message out to everyone who reads my article. Live, love and cherish every moment you have with that special person. Make time and try and keep the romance and fire that got you where you are. Remember, we all screw up and no one is perfect, EXPECIALL Y MYSELF. My one quote for this month is, “It is hard to be truthful because the truth always hurts someone else and lying only hurts yourself, but the truth will set you free” . This is an open invitation for comments, complaints, critiques, encouragements, suggestions. Full Throttle Magazine is a magazine that strives to meet the needs of our readership as well as our advertisers. Without both of these demographics we simply could not be. We would like to hear from you so that we can better meet your needs and provide more value to you. We would like to hear your thoughts on layout, design, and editorials such as Night Train, Mr. 300, Charlie 3 Finger and so on. Please submit all your thoughts via e-mail to tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com. Be safe, ride smart and don’t drink and ride!

Full Throttle Magazine Where has the summer gone? Biketoberfest is here, the Holidays are fast approaching and that means Toy Run time is almost here! This will be our 25th Anniversary and we are both proud and excited to celebrate our 25th Toy Run! The Toy Run starts at Derby Lane on Gandy Boulevard and crosses the Gandy Bridge to Westshore. We will once again end up at the American Legion Post 138 located right on beautiful Tampa Bay. Look for flyers that contain Toy Run information distributed around the Tampa Bay area. We are looking for a large turnout because it is for the children! The weekend before Labor Day, we went to East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs for the Third Annual Military Day Event that is put on by Congressman Gus Bilirakis. There were multiple booths that dealt with VA help regarding health care and benefits. We were entertained by the SOCOM Parachute Jump Team, United States Coast Guard helicopter fly over, Miss Vietnam Armed Forces Pin Up Sandy O’Hara, numerous dignitaries and Tony Orlando (who is a well known entertainer and Veterans Associate). This was quite an afternoon and I was amazed at how many Veterans participated. It was very educational and I am looking forward to next year’s event. Until next month, Remember to ride safe no matter what you ride. Keelhauler

It’s been a busy month for the Tampa Bay Diva Angels! We had a mystery ride, attended the 1st Annual AmVic Bike fest at Channelside, the Top Dog Memorial Ride, and a visit to the Faces of Courage camp. The Diva Angels also participated in our flagship charity; The Shannon Walsh-Revette 4th Annual Memorial Ride on Sunday September 27th. All proceeds from this event go to The Faces of Courage Foundation. The Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non profit cancer support organization; dedicated to providing free of charge, programs, day outings, overnight camps, picnics, and “end of chemo” parties to those affected by this dreaded disease. This event is also very near and dear to us because Shannon’s mother is one of our Diva sisters. For more information about the Faces of Courage Foundation please go online to www.facesofcourage.org. We will continue to rally support for Faces of

Courage through other moneymaking efforts. We just completed training at Raymond James Stadium to work the concession stands during various stadium events. On October 9th you will find the Divas working the U2 concert, and on November 8th we will work the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Green Bay game at 1:00pm. A portion of the concession sales will go to the Faces of Courage. Everyone has been affected in some way by cancer; whether it’s been a family member, friend or coworker so we urge you to come by to support us as every penny counts! The Tampa Bay Chapter meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 at Quaker Steak and Lube. For more information about the Tampa Bay Diva Angels and our calendar of events, please go www. tampadivaangels.com. Come ride with us!

It is a Crime not to know what to do if you have been involved in a motorcycle accident. It happens to even the best of bikers. When it happens, approximately 85% of the time it is someone else’s fault. All avid bikers know someone who at one time went down. Even though we hate to think and talk about these accidents the reality of it is when it occurs you need to be prepared to take immediate and appropriate action to protect yourself. What To Do At The Scene Of An Accident Florida law requires everyone involved in an accident to immediately stop at the scene of the accident, or as close to the scene as possible without obstructing traffic more than is necessary. The last thing you ever want to do is leave the scene of the accident, that is of course unless medical personnel must take you away due to severe injuries. In every instance that an accident occurs you should call 911 immediately. What if you think you are not injured or there is very little property damage? Call the police anyways. The official police report is a tool that can be of great

assistance to you in a later dispute concerning who was at fault. I often encounter situations where neither party called the police, so potential witnesses were not interviewed and critical evidence such as skid marks and debris from the motorcycle or car disappears. To make matters worse, the car driver that was at fault goes home and calls his own insurance company to report how you caused the accident and he is the victim! In that case, later in a court of law it then becomes your word versus his. Make sure you or one of the other riders with you get the names, addresses and phone numbers of any witnesses. This is very important, as the police don’t always interview everyone due to the confusion at the scene. Furthermore, many times witnesses leave before the police even arrive. If you get the names, addresses and phone numbers of the witnesses, the police can interview them later if they choose not to stay at the scene. When cooperating with the police, you are required to give them your driver’s license, registration, and insurance information (Florida Law requires any-

one over the age of 21 who rides without a helmet to have a minimum of $10,000.00 in medical coverage). Be sure to only speak to the investigating officer about the accident facts and don’t make any statements to anyone else. If medical personnel recommends going to the hospital, take their advice. Unlike the armor around a car, the only thing protecting you is your skin and bones. The likelihood of damage to your body is great if you get hit. Further, it is vital to have proper medical documentation of your injuries if you have to pursue a claim against the person that hit you. I highly recommend that you carry a disposable camera in your bags at all times. Preserving the scene of the accident is of utmost importance. Anyone can take the disposable camera from your bag and take pictures of the accident scene, your bike, the car at fault, and your bodily injuries. A picture truly can tell a thousand words in instances like this. Next Month: What to do after the Accident

It’s Midnight in Daytona.....and I’m not famous yet....

The film opens with an upbeat British March to a black screen while the audience is seated. The opening scene of this 1962 epic film is both a prologue and an epilogue showing Lieutenant TE Lawrences ( Peter O’Toole) death on May13th 1935. Lawrence races his motorbike along the narrow English country lane. The suspension movement is obvious, the 1932 custom made bike was known as “George VII”, a Brough Superior model SS100 with a 998 cc overhead valve V twin, known as the “Rolls Royce among motorcycles” they were built regardless of costs by George Brough. Lawrence was awaiting delivery of George VIII at his death. He had started with George I many years before. This got me to thinking what other truly famous people rode bikes in the past ? Not the usual suspects we all know, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Steve McQueen or Jay Leno nor the racers, we have many legendary speed merchants over the past 100 years or so. No I’m talking about people who made their mark in history, inventors, presidents, writers people who had another occupation outside motorcycling , but were enthusiasts, not your casual rider.Take Charles Lindbergh at one time the most famous man in the world. 1st. to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1927. He loved his 1919 Excelsior Big X V Twin.Or James Dean who owned 7 motorcycles in his short life, a 1947 348 cc Czech Whizzer, a Norton and a Indian 500 and then his favorite a Triumph T110 with “Deans Dilemma” painted on the tank.On a musical note Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Buddy chose an Ariel Cyclone, Jerry Allison a Triumph Trophy and Joe Mauldin a Triumph Thunderbird, all brand new 1958 models.Or eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes, when not test piloting or designing airplanes and in between movie making and starlet chasing, well he was riding dirtbikes in the Nevada Desert.General or should I say President Dwight D. Eisenhower was involved with testing military motorcycles involving coast to coast rides before his White House years and another president Jimmy Carter rode a motorcycle while campaining in Georgia. Both Clark Gable and Keenan Wynn road raced in California in the 1940’s. It was also Keenan that turned Steve McQueen onto the sport. George Orwell writer of the classic Animal Farm, 1984 and Moon Under the Water put many a mile on his Royal Enfield 350.And Robert Fulton Jr. son of the inventor of the steamship. Who in 1932 rode a Douglas motorcycle around the world. Hunter S. Thompson, rode with the Hells Angels while he wrote about them. Cycle World contributor and gonzo journalist among other things!Or two guys from a film called the “Wild Ones”Lee Marvin who could not ride a motorcycle when offered the part, but due to his off screen dislike of Marlon Brando(who rode his personal bike in the film) quickly learned. He became a strong competitor on his Triumph (though he rode a Harley in the film) in desert races. Nicholas Cage is a rider and collector with a desire for old Moto-Guzzis. Ann Margaret film star and sex kitten, rode Harleys and had a special electric start Norton and a Triumph Trophy.A very interesting man Glenn Curtiss who in 1907 rode a V8 powered motorcycle of his own design and build to 136 MPH on an East Coast Beach. Between 1907 -1925 he set numerous aviation records and designed large multi engine seaplanes for the military and was most famous of all for the design and building of the Curtiss “Jenny” military trainer plane. George Formby, one of Britons biggest stars of the 40’s and 50’s owned many motorcycles, his Norton interstate 500 sold in 2007 for $52,000 dollars. Malcolm Forbes owned a motorcycle dealership in NJ and about 1/2 the world. He also owned 70 bikes, mostly Harleys. Founded a motorcycle club called the “ Capitalist Tools “ He was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999. A Malcolm quote, “ I made my money the old fashion way, I was very nice to a wealthy relative right before he died.” Roy Rogers, the king of the cowboys, known mostly for his four legged ride “ Trigger.” He also had Harleys, Indians, BMW’s , Triumphs and Hondas. And speaking of kings how about Elvis Aaron Presley ? Not only did his characters ride many bikes , he owned numerous Harleys and Indians and in later years got into the custom trike craze. And how about a current king of the box office George Clooney ? “ I’ve been riding for 30 years and I’ve had 3 accidents, which is not bad odds.” Clooney has a few Harleys and

Indians among other “girls”. It's morning as the blonde haired Lawrence wipes off his beloved motorbike “George VII” and tops off the oil tank. As the camera films from an odd angle the credits roll almost split screen. As he sets the levers just so he dons his military issue riding goggles . With a swift kick the glorious V twin jumps to life. The camera pans over the shining engine cases we see the initials JAP (J.A. Prestwich engine builder). Out of the white picket gates, through the city, past the road repair crew. You hear Lawrence go through the bikes gears, faster and faster , the shadows and light dance over Lawrence's bobbing head and ever widening grin. Then 2 children on bicycles appear suddenly, hidden by a dip in the road. The Brough Superiour hurtles off the road , suspended in the air riderless.Next we see the great bike lying on its side, then the camera cuts to Lawrences goggles hanging in a tree. While George VII would ride again(it suffered very little damage and was repaired personally by George Brough) the worlds most famous biker , Lawrence of Arabia would not as he died six days later. One of the doctors attending him was neurosurgeon Sir Hugh Cairns. He was deeply affected by the accident and began an extensive study of what he saw as a needless waste of lives of motorcycle dispatch riders of the time through head injuries ,and his studies led to the use of crash helmets both in military and civillian bikers. I do find that it's great company to be in , the writers, historians, actors and military greats who also had another passion...............Motorbikes Robert Mr. “393” De Moss MR 300 welcomes comments, ideas and pictures. This was the first time the American Victory Ship did a motorcycle event but I don’t think it will be the last! Friday night September 18 was the day where “Wheels Meet Steel” behind the Florida Aquarium on Channelside Drive in downtown Tampa. Sponsored by Beef O’Brady’s, Pepin Distributors, Tampa HarleyDavidson and Full Throttle Magazine, the American Victory Ship was open to bikers and over 200 showed up to take a look at this amazing ship. Bikes parked right on the pier and we partied on the ship itself! There was food, drinks, prizes, a dance floor and live music was provided by The Blues Sharks. It was a great night and I am looking forward to the next AmVic BikeFest!

Hi all .... Queen and I went to the ABATE Flashback Party last month and had a great time! After getting our camp site set up, we went exploring, met up with old friends and met a few new ones! Friday night’s live band started off the evening and it led to barstool dancing and the “Mr. Flashback” competition. The guys were great sports and did a super job! Saturday, we relaxed and checked out the bike games. Then came the famous scavenger hunt. Four team met up and we went from there ... find this ... grab that .... make this .... I hope this works .... and take it to the judges! Boy was that a lot of fun! Later that night was the “Miss Flashback” contest and you can imagine where that went! We had a wonderful, relaxing, fun-filled weekend and we can’t wait for next year! Dew

Brandon Harley-Davidson’s monthly second Thursday bike night fell on September 10th this year, so there was an amazing remembrance service put on. This was one of the largest bike nights in a while at Brandon H-D and for a good reason. The three bikes of the night were all military themed or firefighter themed. I would like to thank Silvana, Britni and the rest of the staff at Brandon, Tampa and Gulf Coast H-D for the great shirt with my name embroidered on it. I will wear it with pride, thank you! As always, there were great bike specials, cold beer, vendors and the ever popular Harley Girls on hand. Brandon Harley-Davidson has this bike night every month on the second Thursday. Make sure you mark your calendars for October 8th for the next one!

It's October again and everything starts for the winter season. Spooks and Scoots page 50, Biketoberfest in Daytona and my favorite Webster Swap Meet, Bike , and Car Show page 95. It starts cooling off I hope for good riding weather! The girl with the pink hair you've seen in my story and picture from Inverness, FL told me she enjoyed being in Full Throttle Magazine. What she liked most was people pointing to her instead of pointing at her. Keep smiling honey! I have seen a lot of bumper stickers, signs, etc. Look out for bikers I think they do good making people aware but I think it would do more good to see stickers , t-shirts, signs if they read WATCH OUT FOR BIKER’S DON’T MAKE US MAD! As we all know the economy is bad and lots of businesses are going out of business. If you like reading F.T. try to support the people that advertise so we can keep it a free magazine for our readers and you can find our mags at the businesses that advertise. If you can’t find it at the place you frequent, tell them to purchase an ad in so you can get books at their place call the Full Throttle office at 813-814-1424 for help!

Don’t forget to visit us in Daytona this month check the book out for locations, bike shows, parties and booths. As I told you before, I was one of the people that helped start Bare Buns Biker’s, that is why I am member #3! Also, I have 3 fingers on my right hand. It started small but since that great lady B.G. took it over, now it has 34 chapters and 3400 people and Bare Buns Bikers in many states. I saw in the news 2 people in FL were arrested for riding nude that was not one of us. We stick to nude resorts. On October 10 we will be at Kisssimmee Fl at Cypress Cove. Check www.barebunsbikers. com October 15 & 18 at Sunny Sands Resort in Pierson FL. Come join the fun!! See you soon Fancy Nancy

Well the time of year has come, BIKETOBERFEST is around the corner!! Beautiful weather and yes, those Damn Love Bugs!! Be sure to look for and say hello to Full Throttle in Daytona at three great locations. Kick ass Iron Horse, JP Cylces, (at Destination Daytona), and on the Pier at the end of Main Street’s Board Walk!! Be sure to check us out at the Rat’s Hole, as well! With this beautiful weather, many will be taking to the streets… please be careful out there! Too many “accidents” have affected loved ones. Please don’t forget, to come out and show your support for my dear friend Carl (Fat Louie) LeMay, as friends have arranged benefits within the next few months to help with his children and finances. The first so far, is Good Time Charlie’s: Sunday 10-24-09. Check out my FT Speaks to Riders, this issue for more details. With Carl being very loved and a well known in the biker community, he is member of the Moose Riders, and the District 23 - Moose Riders from Sebring are planning a Poker Run (I believe on 11-28-09), date and time to be confirmed and announced. Also, Skipper’s Smoke house is planning a benefit for a Sunday afternoon, (actual date still to be determined). Thus far, John Hancock and Independence will be playing music and I believe they will invite others to play as well. More information will be announced. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out, donating or contributing, for our fellow biker, as anything will be greatly appreciated. There will be auction items for all three benefit (Gift Certificates, T-Shirts, etc...). Come out and show your support, and I will definitely be there, and see you around! My email address is menen@tampabay.rr.com, Please contact me direct for more information. Until next time…

American Linkage is owned by Charles Berry of Holiday, Fl. Chuck wanted a different kind of shifter for his bike and he wanted it to be one of a kind. So he began his own process for the making of a linkage that would be one of a kind for all Harley riders that would make people who ride sit up and take notice. The linkage is different because you can put your name or your wife’s name in LED lights right in the shifter. To install this unit on your bike Chuck makes it real easy and in as little time as 20 minutes. So you can order your unit, have it shipped right out to you and then you can install it. The cost is not bad as Chuck has taken care of all the ways to install it and in no time you will have a shifter with all the glitz of LED on your ride. Chuck has a website you can go to to find out more about this product www.americanlinkage.com. The rest is up to you. Here’s a few photos to help convince you to get this product for your ride and be noticed.

This Months news flash……

THE DREADED FLUE SHOT

Now let me understand this. WHO admits they have released this into the population. They patented the vaccine two years ago before they decided to have a pandemic. Now, here come the laws: Massachusetts Senate Passes Draconian Flu Pandemic Bill. The corporate media is ignoring S. 2028, the flu pandemic bill that was unanimously passed by the Massachusetts Senate. The Draconian Bill was covered extensively by the alternative news sites, but not a word from the New York Times or the Washington Post. S. 2028 will be used as a template for legislation in other states. The bill imposes a virtual police state and martial law on Massachusetts at the behest of the Governor in the event of flu pandemic this Autumn. It gives the state health commissioner, law enforcement, and medical personnel wide authority to mobilize forces, vaccinate the population, enter private property with no warrants, and even quarantine people against their will in violation of

the forms, including a voluntary home quarantine agreement, a quarantine to residence order, a quarantine to residence order (non-compliance), a quarantine to facility order, quarantine detention order, quarantine of facility order, building quarantine closure order and area quarantine closure order. North Carolina released a draft isolation order that would provide for imprisonment for up to two years and pretrial detention without bail for any citizen who fails to comply with an isolation order. Washington has granted authority to local health officers to issue emergency detention orders forcing citizens to be immediately and involuntarily isolated or quarantined for up to 10 days. A form released by the state of Iowa for voluntary home confinement, home quarantine and home isolation recently made the rounds on the internet. Rumors started swirling after a quarantine form was found by someone on the internet, <http:// www.infowars.com/iowa-health-officials-engagein-damage-control-over-forced-quarantinedocument/>KIMT 3 reported. Health leaders in Iowa are reassuring people that there are no H1N1 related quarantines being ordered. The form calls quarantine of all individuals suspected of coming in contact with the virus.

Bob Dwyer of MassLPA discusses S. 2028. S.2028 is now in Massachusetts House Ways and Means Committee. The Liberty Preservation Association of Massachusetts has vowed to killthe legislation before it can reach the House (see MassLPA video above). The organization plans to lobby lawmakers at the capital on Beacon Hill on September 9 and convince them not to vote for and pass the bill. Now they say they will start vaccinating pregnant women first. Here is what neurosurgeon , Dr. Russell Blaylock says could happen to the babies who survive it: “Previous studies of flu viruses found that the danger to the unborn is not from the virus, but from the cytokine immune reaction to the virus--that is the mother’s immune reaction to the virus. What this means is that pregnant women who take this vaccine (especially since it is to be a two to three part vaccine) will have the same immune effects and may dramatically increase the mother’s risk of having a child with autism or schizophrenia. This is accepted in the medial literature and have been done repeatedly in animals exposed to vaccine during pregnancy. We could see a real disaster with this vaccine program. Mothers should be warned. Remember, there is no evidence that the vaccine will protect anyone from the virus.”

Tonesherewhoare“take” two kinds of professional photographers; the pictures and may succeed in getting a handful of good images out of hundreds of shots, then there are the ones who “compose” or “create” pictures with an almost 100% success rate out of a handful of shots. Michael Lichter’s 30 years of experience as a professional photographer certainly make him part of the second group.

To prove my point here is a partial list of the bike builders Michael has worked with: Arlen Ness, Bill Steele, Billy Lane, Brian Klock, Chica, Cory Ness, Dave Perewitz, David Covington, Denver’s Choppers, Donnie Smith, Eddie Trotta, Indian Larry (RIP), Hank Young, Jeff Cochran, Jerry Covington, Jesse Rooke, Kendall Johnson, Kim Suter, Mike Pugliese, Orange County Choppers and the list goes on … In short, if your eyes have an insatiable appetite for iron on wheels you may as well just cut to the chase, forget reading my column and log on to www.lichterphoto.com. Michael’s website will serve you a feast of images which will without a doubt fully satisfy every visual taste bud you may have. In 1977, after a stint simultaneously playing drums in a BeBop jazz band, bussing tables in a restaurant and doing personal photography, Michael decided he was a better photographer than a drummer and hung up the sticks. It was during this time that he started riding his 1971 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead (which he still owns) and photographing bikers. This work, along with a series

on cowboys, was exhibited in group and solo exhibitions over the next few years. Prints were included in private and public collections, most notably by ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Corp.) and the Bibliotheque Nationale de France, in Paris. In 1979, Easyriders started to publish some of Michael’s motorcycle photography. He photographed a number of smaller events and features specifically for them, proving his abilities, and then was off on his third trip to Sturgis in 1981, now on assignment for Easyriders. Also in 1981, after a solo exhibition of his work at the Gallery of Photography in Dublin, Ireland, which was boycotted by the League of Decency, Michael became disillusioned with the “art world” and again changed course. He stopped publicly exhibiting his photographs in favor of publishing his motorcycle work in Easyriders and simultaneously began developing his career as a commercial advertising and corporate photographer. By 1982, his studio was open in Boulder, Colorado. It wasn’t long before he developed a clientele that included companies like IBM, Sun Microsystems and Kraft Foods. Motorcycle and commercial assignments have taken Michael across America and abroad to Canada, Europe, Japan, Mexico and New Zealand. While he has published more than 1,000 articles on motorcycling and custom bikes, he has also photographed annual reports, product photography, advertising, brochures and posters. The diversity of subject matter included two cookbooks, covers for more than 60 beer magazines and the same for audio magazines. His commercial motorcycle work has grown over the years to include magazines around the

Full Throttle 60 world and commercial clients like Indian Motorcycles, Big Dog Motorcycles, Wiley-X Sunglasses, Harley-Davidson, Nikon Cameras and many of the best custom bike builders in America. Over the last decade, Michael has contributed work to many books on motorcycling including images specifically requested by Willy G. Davidson for his 100th anniversary book on Harley. The ten “coffee-table” books with his name on the cover include two on Sturgis, large format books on choppers, and individual books on builders Arlen Ness, Billy Lane and Indian Larry. Since 2000, Michael has been exhibiting his photography again in public institutions including solo shows of his work at more than 15 galleries and museums. Michael’s reputation as a motorcycling photographer has led to Michael being featured in photography, motorcycling and general interest magazines as well as a number of television shows. On a more personal note, Michael married his wonderful wife Catherine in 1982. They met when they were both on a 5-day holiday in Big Sur, California, where Catherine was vacationing from her home in Dublin, Ireland. They have two children, a daughter Kiera who was born in 1985, and son Sean who was born in 1988. Incidentally, you never could totally take the music out of Michael. While he wasn’t about to start lugging the drums around again, he discovered the Irish penny whistle could fit in his pocket. It has become a great outlet and perfect way to pass the time in the middle of a highway waiting for the right bike or the right light. If you are riding down an open highway and happen to hear an Irish jig coming from a photographer straddling the double yellow line way up ahead, it’s probably Michael about to take your photo. Michael was born and raised in a suburban area of New York. His mom was Czechoslovakian and his dad was a pilot fighter for the USA during World War II. Michael got hooked on photography when he used his father’s camera. Developing his own pictures in the dark room literally changed how Michael looked at the world. Michael is not thinking about the legacy he wants to leave. He is focused on doing what he loves; composing pictures. Michael prefers not to use women as mere “by-product”

in his work. He says there is no need for that. Michael says that he prefers to let the product speak for itself. Using women distracts from the purpose of showcasing his clients’ products. Michael says that if he was considered an “artist” by others it would be an honor. Now part of the motorcycle Hall of Fame in Sturgis, Michael was once completely surprised by industry leaders such as Arlen Ness and over six hundred others when he was publicly acknowledged and given a bike on the stage during an award event which he was suppose to cover as a photographer. Michael’s role models as a photographer among others include; “Cartier Brasson”(1900), “Robert Frank” (1924), “Gary Winogrand” (1928) and “Friedelander” (1934). When I asked Michael if he had any fears he said he was not aware of his own fears and that maybe he should think about this a little more. “Everyone has fears” he said. If he had a knife or a gun pulled on him he said he knows he would experience fear. Michael just does not like fear. He says it “prevents people from doing something”. I agree. In my opinion, guilt is also something that prevents people from doing something. Pet peeves? Michael says he has too many of them. “I am a perfectionist”. Like myself, Michael detests stupid behavior on motorcycles and that is certainly a pet peeve we both share. As mentioned, Michael is a father of two. He never thought he would have kids. “I love kids. Sharing with them. Vacationing. Playing games with them. Talking with them.” Michael says it is too easy to generalize and say that kids don’t want to work. He says that a lot of kids don’t want to work but a lot of kids do want to work as well. Michael’s observation is that today’s technology is robbing kids off the richness of true face-to-face relationships. They have become dependent on texting and networking. This takes away from the commitments a real relationship would take. Michael is an atheist. Interestingly enough he claims however to be “spiritual on some levels”. He has a genuine interest in what people believe and is open to understanding other views.

Michael says we need to be thankful for what we have. Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness in our US Declaration of Independence for example are not to be taken for granted. “Sometimes one’s freedom means the loss of someone else’s freedom”. How true! To me this statement resonates what Christendom claims Christ accomplished; Rom 5:8-9 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (9) Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” Atheism can be either the rejection of theism, or the position that deities do not exist. In the broadest sense, it is the absence of belief in the existence of deities (God). In all due respect I find the doctrine of atheism fascinating to some degree. While I certainly do not want to open a debate about this issue or even pretend to offer a resolution, I find the position of atheism quite logically difficult to embrace. I find one of the most powerful logical arguments against atheism is in the analogies one can draw out of the following example: when we see a beautiful bike and observe the intricacies of its design and how it is built and how it functions, logic causes us to conclude there is a designer or an engineer behind it. The bike did not just make itself out of some lucky coincidence and from nowhere. When I look at the awesome pure blue color tones in the eyes of my daughters, how their eyes function flawlessly giving them power through their brain to decipher and

differentiate colors, dimensions, forms, perspectives, distances and so on … when I look at the human body as a whole and closely observe how it is engineered and built as well as the multitude of functions it has, I just cannot come to the conclusion there isn’t someone behind it all who engineered everything so perfectly. When I look at a common picture I know there is a photographer behind it who captured the image for me to see it. When I look at Michael Lichter’s work, I know there is a process that went from conceptualizing the image in his mind to methodologically thinking through and planning for every factor involved such as weather, scheduling, lighting, shadow, space, scene, distance, shutter timing, props, colors, subject, framing, angle, technology etc in order to get to the panned end results, only a true professional quality photographer can get to. I believe Michael is not only an artist but he is also an image creator, designer and engineer. He is a conductor for symphonies of colors which silently inspires the bikers in us through our eyes as the sunshine penetrates the house through its’ windows. Don’t believe me? Log on his site!

Attila the Fucati Part 2 Quick Recap: Salvage title bike that is extremely expensive to rebuild, that sat with no intake valve for who knows how long: For those of you following this project, consider this to be an advice best followed lesson number one when choosing a project bike make sure it runs! Even though our project is in the hands of professional Ducati service techs, the rebuild cost of the engine transmission assembly is staggering. The folks at Euro Sports of Tampa have already donated a barrel full of time in disassembly at no cost to us! Lesson number two, is this. Do your homework on cost of repair, even if the bike runs take it to certified techs such as our friends at Euro Sports. They can give you valuable info on what is, what may be and what will be wrong with the mechanical parts, and provide you with a good base for mechanical rebuild or repair costs. Our project engine is in pieces, but rebuildable. This month we will set our sights on locating parts and machine work sponsors. In hind sight, a more plentiful bike would have been a better choice for us. Having said that, we’re definitely setting our sights on building a unique bike! Probably setting ourselves up for failure as well, but nothing worthwhile is easy! Next month we may explore the "eyes bigger than the wallet" lesson, but only time will tell. Again thank you to everyone at Euro Sports of Tampa for your outstanding perseverance!! Awesome! Tune in next month. Remember we need lots of help on this one, so if you want to get involved give us a call Ride Safe Rev Jim

A Picture Can Say So Much More If I write to much, the text is so small. I have a hard time reading my own stuff. Baby Boomer Age. So here are some pictures of people and things I saw at the events I attended. The US Military Vets. 2nd Anniversary Party. Great Job Guys. The table for the POWs and MIAs hit me in the heart. My brother made it back from Nam. Thank you God. Venom Custom Choppers Bar and Grill (the old Prowlerz) opened with bike nights Tuesday and Fridays. They plan to have a big party for the Cotee River Bike Fest. Check them out. Up The Creek Pub had their grand opening. More on that later. And Cotee River Lounge has a great Thursday Bike Night. When you have 30 to 40 bikes that ride through rain to get to the bike night. That’s a Bike Night DJ (My favorite Biker Babe DJ Patti MC), works for the people to have fun every event. Sorry. To much text. Oh yes. That’s Joey pointing out his Geico friend that rode on his bike from his home to the bar. If you don’t have an Angel riding with you. Have insurance..

Till next time. Ride Safe and look out for the bad drivers. The Big “O”

Over the years I’ve heard a lot of opinions and questions about many different subjects that concern riders. So each month I’m gonna meet with a group of experts, ponder the problem, and report the findings. So if you have questions or a bug up your butt, send it in to me. This month we’re gonna bring up drivers with cell phones. How many times have you been cut off or worse because some dummy is on the phone and not paying attention to the road? Fact: Cell Phones are the leading cause of accidents in the U.S. (well above drunk drivers) Fact: Our roads are more dangerous now then 10 years ago since cell phones became popular. Fact: you are just as likely to be in an accident on a cell phone as someone drinking.

Fact: Drunk drivers get their cars impounded, go to jail spend thousands of dollars get probation, etc, etc. Users of cell phones get a ticket if they are on the phone and get in an accident. So if the Florida Dept. of transportation really wants the roads to be safe, make cell phones against the law and give them the same penalties as the drunks. So you say Bubba, why don’t they make cell phones against the law? Well, my team of experts could only come up with one answer. The lawmakers, the cops, mom and her kids are all on the cell phones. Isn’t it ironic that mother’s against drunk driving are causing more accidents than the drunks!! So the Florida Dept. of Transportation safety plan is nothing more than a band aid on a broken leg. But what do you think? I’m gonna leave you with an old biker saying “Never ride what you can’t pick up” Good night Spanky wherever you are.. Bubba

Fall is finally here, and the much anticipated cooler weather is just around the corner. I have to say Fall is my favorite season, and not because of yummy Halloween candy or that big turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, but because the weather finally makes riding enjoyable and the chance of being rained on every time we pull out of the garage really diminishes. We were able to get a few rides in this month. We rode in 3 benefit poker runs, the first started at Peggy’s Corral and ended at Aces on Cortez Rd in Bradenton. They had several bands, an awesome live auction and plenty of food, cold drinks and dancing. The next weekend we ventured south to Punta Gorda to Tilley’s Tap off Duncan Rd just down from our friends at Panther Cycle. The run took us out to Arcadia, and then headed north to Wauchula where on the way; we stumbled upon Herb’s Limestone Country Club, a cool little place out in the middle of nowhere. The last Sunday of the month Herb has a biker party, which is apparently very well attended. I have to say it is the largest biker gathering we’ve seen in our area. The last run started and ended at Hoosier’s Bar in Osprey. The on and off again rain all day really hurt the turn out of this run, but for those of us who were brave (or crazy) enough to venture out it was a good time. We have several upcoming events to remind you of; 1st mark your calendar for Oct. 3rd for the Unity Fest poker run and music festival. Gary and I organized the poker run and would love to see all of you there. It starts at Black Widow Harley Davidson,

then heads to Will’s Honkytonk in Englewood, we will then head to Venice to Tarzans Bar and Grill, next is The North Port American Legion and finally to Rascal’s Looney Bin in Port Charlotte before we head to the Charlotte County Fairgrounds for live music, motocross stunt shows, food, vendors cold beer and a chance to win $1000.00 dollars. Oct 10th The North Port American Legion Riders are having their Pre-Biketoberfest hog roast to benefit the Wounded Warriors. The American Legion Riders of post 312 are hosting a ride for the Troop's Kids on Nov. 14th. All of these as well as others are detailed in the cruising section. We would like to thank our advertisers who are helping build the green section of the magazine. Please check out the ads and support their businesses, without them we wouldn’t have the biggest and best motorcycle magazine in Florida. We hope everyone has a safe and fun month, and can’t wait to see you out and about. Remember if you have an event or would like to place an ad for your business give us a call at 941-504-8297 or email ridefullthrottle@live.com Tracey and Gary

Sitting by the window of her convent, Sister Barbara opened a letter from home one evening. Inside the letter was a $100 bill her parents had sent. Sister Barbara smiled at the gesture. As she read the letter by the window, she noticed a shabbily dressed stranger leaning against the lamp post below. Quickly, she wrote, “Don’t despair. Sister Barbara,” on a piece of paper, wrapped the $100 bill in it, got the man’s attention and tossed it out the window to him. The stranger picked it up, and with a puzzled expression and a tip of his hat, went off down the street. The next day, Sister Barbara was told that a man was at her door, insisting on seeing her. She went down, and found the stranger waiting. Without a word, he handed her a huge wad of $100 bills. “What’s this?” she asked. “That’s the $8,000 you have coming Sister,” he replied. “Don’t Despair paid 80-to-1.”

********************************************* An airline pilot wrote that on this particular flight he had hammered his ship into the runway really hard. The airline had a policy which required the first officer to stand at the door while the passengers exited, smile, and give them a “Thanks for flying our airline.” He said that, in light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the passengers in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart comment. Finally everyone had gotten off except for a little old lady walking with a cane. She said, “Sir, do you mind if I ask you a question?” “Why, no, Ma’am,” said the pilot. “What is it?” The little old lady said, “Did we land, or were we shot down?”

CAN SHE BORROW A DOLLAR? Over three quarters of all women with full time jobs made only 78% of men’s pay. When you first see this number, it’s a shock .... why should women get paid less if they are doing the same job as a man? Things are getting better because back in the year 2000, women were only making about 64% of a man’s pay.

I’M UP FOR ADOPTION!!!! Wow ... and I mean wow! Michael Jackson’s three kids are being taken care of by his mother (who is over 80 years old). Katherine Jackson will be receiving $86,804 each and every month from the pop star’s estate. This includes money for employees to help care for the kids, an assistant, housekeeper, driver, utilities, clothing, grooming and $160,000 set aside for entertainment. That sure is a lot of trips to Chuck E. Cheese!

SOUNDS FISHY The next-to-impossible .... I can’t believe it really happened .... say what .... are you kidding me .... occurred last month in the country of Bulgaria. The country has a national lottery and on September 6 and the numbers 4-15-23-24-35-42 were drawn but nobody had the winning combination. The next drawing date was on September 10 and eighteen people had the winning numbers. You ask what combination of numbers were selected .... you guessed it 4-15-23-24-35-42!

GOT ROAD RAGE?? How long does it take for you to get to work? The average time for commuting to work in the USA is 25.5 minutes. The highest average was found in Los Angeles, CA where it takes 41.5 minutes to travel from home to work. The shortest commute time was found in Bloomington, IL at 14.1 minutes.

GO TEAM! WHOA TEAM! NO TEAM! The University of Kansas has a problem. Last month there were two big fights in back-toback days between players on the school’s football team and players on the school’s basketball team! The fights were big enough that police were called in. Players were pushed down a flight of stairs, racial insults were hurled and at least one player ended up in the hospital with a hand injury. Come on guys .... what happened to school spirit and school allegiance? Take that energy out on the field against your opponent, not on each other.

WEST GOES SOUTH! Ok ... here is a pop quiz! Who is the biggest “a-hole” in the entertainment world? If you didn’t answer Kanye West after his stupid, idiotic, self-centered outburst during last month’s VMA Awards you haven’t been watching television. This piece of crap jumped on stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech and screamed about Beyonce having a better video. Swift was shocked and West was loudly booed and ridiculed. This is just another example of the type of ignorance and arrogance that seems to run rampant in the rap music industry .... at least Taylor wasn’t shot!

Here’s an interesting statistic .... 31% of Americans (over the age of 15) have never been married. This is the highest level in more than ten years. I guess it’s getting harder and harder to find that perfect match. Think of this number - nearly one of out three people have never walked down the aisle and said “I do”.

HOTELS TO EXPENSIVE.. Here’s a crazy story ... a couple was robbed at knife-point in Wichita, Kansas last month by a robber who caught the couple having sex in a dumpster! The thief saw the couple going at it in the trash receptacle and took advantage of the situation. He took their shoes, jewelry and wallet and ran. He was captured that same day but he sure had a great story to tell other inmates!

Hope this finds all safe and well. For those of you who have ever planned an event, I know that it takes a lot of work, time and energy. To have it rain on your parade is like a nightmare from hell! You keep saying "wake up" but realize it is for real! The rain keeps coming and so does the thunder (but not the good kind). Our "high heels&2wheels" event got rained on but it did not dampen our spirits as we tried to make the best of a bad situation. I must say our inside fashion show was great fun with some awesome models! The attendance was ranging from 20 to 50 something people. These ladies still can turn heads! Our guest speaker Mr. Hal Mette from Czaia & Gallagher P.A. did a great job updating us on some very important issues. Moving on, we will do it again! I’m proud to say Czaia & Gallagher P.A. will be our top sponsor at Biketoberfest this year!!!! Hope to see ya all there, stay safe! Donta

Full Throttle 90 I would like to thanks to Ace and Peterson's H-D South for letting me park the FT truck there while I made one of the most amazing rides I have ever been on! I drove to Miami, with bike in tow, and then got it off the trailer and rode to Key West for the Poker Run! What a great ride, and pretty easy directions at that...US1 South...now there's to you mapquest, ha! If you have never made this ride or even been to Key West, you are really missing out. I met some great people along the way, hit some rain and even did the Duval crawl, thanks Paulie! Here are some of the pictures from my trip. I posted daily pictures on our facebook page and events that happened along the way. The streets were absolutely packed during the day with bikes and people taking pictures and at night the streets were filled with party animals! While I was there I ran into Loranzo Lamas and Eddie Trotta at the Hard Rock. I also saw a very familiar face watching Ohio State kick the crap out of my Toledo Rockets, Bill and Laura Church! Maybe next year we should set up a ride for anyone who wants to go! You can bet Full Throttle will be there with bells on!

Come Visit us during Biketoberfest

Harley Parts Swapmeet Saturday October 10 th

Can you smell it? Biketoberfest is almost here, the weather is great, nice and sunny and there are a lot of people I want to see. You never know when it’s the last time you’ll see somebody. Rossmeyer is an example, he is missed, but our soldiers live in harms way everyday. I love the freedoms they have bought and maintained and the veterans also, our freedom wasn’t cheap, and it was not free! Times are getting crazier everyday. I love my country! I don’t understand how it all fits, but I do fit, it’s a sick world and I’m a happy guy, so come on out and support our sponsors and vendors. Enjoy your friends and loved ones, tell them that you LOVE them, and tell them you care. So praise the living GOD, Jesus gets sweeter everyday, trust in him or burn in Hell!

Brother Bert

Get ready, get set, here we go! It’s Biketoberfest again. This year I’ll be in our Full Throttle booth at the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond most of the time. We also have booths have J&P Cycles, The Rats Hole Show and The Boardwalk Show. On Saturday the 17th we have a bike show at The Grand Seas where we’ll be displaying the K-Moto Dragon bike that’s being given away for the Children’s Miracle Network. This isn’t your ordinary bike give away. This bike was completely hand built by Artistic Choppers. We hope you can make it out. This is a full ride in Bike Show. Don’t forget our Let’s Get Crazy Party at the Americano afterwards on Saturday Night. It’s a great time and we’ll have a lot of fun. With the economy like it is, I know it’s hard for everybody to get out and do what they want. So that’s why we like to have fun at our parties and our events and keep you within your budget. Above all if you’re riding in Daytona or anywhere during the event, it means it’s time to be extra careful. We don’t want to see anybody get hurt or worse during the events. I hope that everybody has a safe and fun Biketoberfest. Maybe next year the economy will be turned around and we can all start having a blast again and not be going homeless doing it. Hope to see you guys soon. Till next time ride sober and safe! - PeeWee
