design statement
I would like to say......To be a next generation of architect, I think the responsibility and characteristic of architecture should be considering our environment more, especially our country is contained 40% of country parks and nature reserves. For the next few years, I would like to explore the concept and idea of advanced technologies, such as algorithmic computation, in aid of sustainable architecture and the way to apply it in the situation of Hong Kong.

C LOUDLAND ALGORITHMIC ARCHITECTURE IN REPONSE TO ENVIRONMENT
Design an effective and efficient architecute with aid of computation and algorthrim thinking that analysing and responsing the surrounding environment in accurancy. The final is porposed to create an Muitimedia Information Centre with central plaza for audience to gain latest information of environmental-friendly technology and hold some events, like public concert or Carnival.

Unpredictable pattern by the light and water For the inspiration, it is came from the sea and there are two elements gaining my interest which is the wave form and the voronoi pattern created by penetrating light through the water. Based on these elements, I started to form a shape of container for the 3D voronoi cells.
T Parameter
Algorithmic Generated Form For the shape of container, Parametric Klein Surface which is one of the components of Lunchbox gaining my interest. In the algorithmic experiment, a desired shape is formed by adjusting the factors of the components, like R parameter, T parameter, Scale, U domain and V domain.

Component B Phototype of fundamental form of container After the experiment, a ideal input data is generated that forming an phototype. Based on the phototype, a infinite circulating shape formed by interlocking component A & B together with opposite direction.
Each voronoi cell is gerenated by each point which acting as an central poiint without overlapping to adjacent cells.
The interlocking concept is based on morris loop that representing infinite loop and acting as an container for the voronoi cell.

Inside the voronoi cell, there is 400mm THK. concrete platform slab. Audience can walk through the platform inside the Voronoi cell by unique staircase, which is sectioning the cells and formed the irregular floor pattern inside the functional space. Also, the ground level is placed with the external wood platform with central plaza that providing a public space for audience. The voronoi cells is selected for placing concrete slab within them. Five horizontal slab is sectioning the voronoi cells and form the irregular floor slabs. Then, the larger slab-platform are desgined for functional use: small library, resting room, restraurant etc.; and the smaller slab-platform are designed for greenery that providing satisfied environment for visits and user. 01 // Environmental Response and Structural framing Solar energy analysis and solar power system, Relationship between structural farming system and panel facade system, Simply Demonstration of techtonic elements of structural framing system
According to the sunpath analysis of Ladybug, i selected the panels which were exposed under the sunlight over than 9.00 hours. There are total 352 panels for installing the solar system that sufficient for generating self-energy and providing surrounding region energy. In the design of solar system, i selected Hexagonal solar cells that suitable for irregular shape and structure, like cloudland.

mixed use of high-rise office tower and headquarter Design a high-rise commercial office tower with headquarter of 3M company that knowledge and understanding of high-rise office building design and construction is required. To act as a real architectural consultant, precisely consideration of building regulation and code of practice is necessary with awesome design of modern tower in the commercial centre of Hong Kong.

SITE CONDITION The southern area is mostly green areas with trees located in this side which provide greenery and nice views on this side of the site. A huge tree is located opposite to the site which prove that this side is a good choice for entrance. The northern area is mostly high-rise commercial buildings where views are blocked in low levels. The buildings in this side are dense and closely packed. These commercial building with considerable height that blocks the views on the north side of the site. The views from South to NorthEast side contain some greenery as well. Trees are located on this side and buildings are less dense as shown on the photo above. Leighton road, Casueway Bay, Hong Kong
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
FORM DEVELOPMENT Based on the shape of site, i mirror and scale down it to gain a large space in front of the entrance for amenity to take place. Also, although the shape of Podium, Tower I and Tower II are different, their area are keep in consistent since i only move tow corner based on grid line and keep another corner unchanged, therefore the total area of each floor is the same. Overall, the building divide into 3 blocks which is larger in ascending in order to create a visual difference.
03 // PRECAST CONCRETE FACADE PANEL M-MODULAR PATTERN FACADE AND CONSTRUCTION JOINTING WITH BUILDING STRUCTURE
M-MODULAR PATTERN FACADE AND CONSTRUCTION JOINTING WITH BUILDING STRUCTURE
PRECASR CONCRETE PANEL In order to response the image of headquarter (3M), i adopt a precast concrete facade since 3M is a mining company in the past. Also, i design the facade module in “M” shape form. In the building, two towers are respesent the inage of headquarter, and the podium is using stick curtain system in the front facade which create a contrast of podium and towers and enhance the soild image of concrete facade. In the interior space, there is an intereting lighting effect when the light projected on to concrete facade.
