About this match programme By Richard Snowball This Division Three match played on February 17, 2001 was a bottom of the table clash with Exeter City who were lying 24th with 25 points with City in 22nd position with one point more. York came into the game in a bad run of form having not won since Boxing Day and picking up only one point from the last 21 available. They had lost their last match 4-0 and had not scored a goal for four games. Things did not improve in this match and they succumbed tamely to a 3-0 defeat. After the match, York found themselves bottom of the Football League structure in 92nd place and this was the first time it had happened since season 1980-81 when they ended the season bottom and were successfully re-elected. However, after this match York turned their season round and only lost two of their last sixteen matches, winning six and drawing eight, and in the process lifted themselves to 17th in the table.
