Konfitura is located on the first floor of Gallery MM, offers far more than coffee and dessert in an interior space that is pleasant, bright and with a partially open kitchen that enables one to become an intrinsic part of the place itself. The place is a reflection of the owner’s passion to cook as well as to eat, with all dishes prepared from scratch and of course using only the freshest of ingredients. The menu offers breakfast served all day, with lunch and dinner with wholesome items such as a spectrum of mouth watering burgers with fries, Polish dumplings (pierogi), soups, a selection of tarts, cakes, home-made desserts, and with fresh juice giving healthy accompaniment to food and conversation. POLAND’S GOOD TASTE FESTIVAL
Ogólnopolski Festiwal Dobrego Smaku, or Poland’s Good Taste Festival, is an annual four-day food and drink celebration taking place at Poznan’s Old Market Square between August 14 -17. Several vendors from across Poland offer local cheese, breads, ham, sausages, honey, beer, and other delicacies. Fine food, wines and spirits form many other counties including Spain, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, and Hungary can also be sampled and purchased here. Live cooking shows, concerts, tastings and workshops for children and adults accompany the event. A grilled “kielbasa” in one hand and a glass of local beer is a sight encouraged here; of course instead of beer it could be Hungarian wine or fresh squeezed apple juice! The Market Square becomes an important music destination as well with plenty of live jazz, classical and folk music which celebrates life, and good food!

MALTA FESTIVAL
09 29 06 2014 Malta Festival Poznań 2014 (9-29th June) will focus its attention on contemporary Latin America which remains poorly represented in European public and cultural life. The curator of the festival’s main thematic section – the Idiom: Latin America: Mestizos is Rodrigo García, one of the most distinctive and bold artists in contemporary theatre. The program will include artists of different generations, who grew up surrounded by social, historical, cultural and geographical paradoxes, uncompromising creators with clearly defined political beliefs, employing distinctive aesthetics. The Festival will also present two shows, by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker – one of the most prominent choreographers in contemporary dance, and a concert by Damon Albarn-- singer of the legendary band Blur and co-founder of Gorillaz. Enter Music Festival 2014 The 4th edition of Enter Music Festival will be held here over two days, June 17 and 18, celebrating jazz and all of the attitudes that go with this vast music genre. Teatr Wielki
Poznan’s Teatr Wielki, or The Great Theater, is a neoclassical building designed by famous German architect Max Littmann (1862-1931). Flanked by six massive columns, its facade is headed by a triangular jerkin-head topped with a sculpture of Pegasus. The theater offers seating for 900. The opera house was first opened in 1910 for a premiere performance of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Today, this is one of Poland’s most famous and revered opera venues with a rich tradition and history.

Poznan’s Old Market Square has as its dominant building the Renaissance Town Hall, with tenement houses lining the square constructed in Baroque and Renaissance styles. Next to the Town Hall are the so called Vendor Houses featuring characteristic arcades. Other features include the Proserpine Fountain, the fountains of Apollo, Neptune and Mars, a Baroque figure of St. John of Pomuc, and many other elements of cultural interest.
