Kick off the holiday season at a winter wonderland and support Norton Children’s Hospital!
Take in the sights and sounds of the holidays at the 33rd annual Festival of Trees & Lights Nov. 11 to 13 at Louisville Slugger Field, 401 E. Main St., in Louisville, Kentucky. There you can view hundreds of beautifully decorated trees of all sizes, wreaths and handcrafted holiday items designed by local artists. All items are available for purchase with proceeds benefiting Norton Children’s Hospital. Entertainment — including photos with Santa Claus, train rides, model train displays, crafts, games, Hanukkah activities, an outdoor Elf Town and more — will get children and adults alike into the holiday spirit. Admission for this festive community event presented by Republic Bank is $12 for adults, $10 for children ages 12 and under and seniors ages 65+, and free for children ages 2 and under. Children’s crafts, pictures with Santa, holiday entertainment and train rides are free with admission. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Save $10 by using the promo code SAVE10 when you purchase your tickets in advance at FestivalOfTreesAndLights.org. The festivities at Louisville Slugger Field run Friday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday also is Festival Family Night from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring face painting, roving costumed characters and a fireworks show with complimentary hot chocolate or cider. Follow the 2022 Festival of Trees & Lights event page on Facebook for a chance to win free tickets during several Free Ticket Friday promotions leading up to the event. Proceeds from the 2022 Festival of Trees & Lights will specifically benefit Norton Children’s pediatric behavioral and mental health services through the Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation. Approximately 1,900 children and adolescents are evaluated annually for outpatient therapeutic services and emergency psychiatric services, with more than 700 admissions each year to the Ackerly Child Psychiatric Unit at Norton Children’s Hospital. Two out of every 10 children and adolescents in the United States have a serious mental health disorder. This issue does not discriminate; it affects children from every area of our community. When you support this year’s Festival of Trees & Lights, you will help expand available care options for all children who need mental and behavioral health care. This includes prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment through additional programs and better access to care. Visit FestivalOfTreesAndLights.org for more information, including a complete schedule of events.
