1ST ANNUAL

DECEMBER 15, 2022 AT GOLDEN OAK LIVESTOCK
We are extremely excited and proud to welcome you to our first annual bull and female sale, “Cattle In The Snow.”
Hosting a sale is something we have always wanted to do and after how impressed we were with this year’s calf crop we decided this was the year to do it. 2022 marks the 50th Anniversary of Golden Oak Livestock breeding Herefords and we are very proud of that accomplishment.
Although our numbers are small, we feel the quality speaks volumes on both the Angus and Hereford side of the offering. We have cut deep into the females to offer you only the best, out of cow families that we know work. We believe the bulls will add pounds and performance to any herd and sire females you will want to retain in your replacement pen.
The bulls are impressive in their makeup and design. They are deep, masculine, easy fleshing, free moving individuals with style, hair and eye appeal to complete the package. We feel they will make great additions to both purebred and commercial operations.
The females on offer come from our best cow families. There are both full and half sibs on both the Angus and Hereford sides which we believe speaks to the strength in them. Parting
with these young females is not going to be easy. They are deep bodied and stylish with great hair coats and temperaments. The cows have outdone themselves on their calves and the bred heifers and heifer calves, we believe, will go on to do the same. Whether you’re looking for a cow to put into your donor program, or a calf or bred heifer that you can show and then go on to be a foundation female, we trust we have chosen the females to do just that.
What was turning out to be a beautiful fall took a quick turn on us and quickly became winter. We are grateful to both Katie Songer and Matt Criddle for sharing the task of picturing the cattle before the snow really started to fly (somedays on very short notice) and to Jordie Buba for the cow pictures she took late this summer and for the videos.
We look forward to hosting you and invite you to join us for supper and pre-sale (and after sale) hospitality the evening of Thursday, December 15 at the farm. If we can be of any assistance please contact either of us and if you have time, stop by for a tour of the cattle prior to the sale.

The bull calves on offer from each respective breed carry both exciting, fresh pedigrees as well as proven, predictable ones. These bulls are right for the times and check all the boxes to make them worthy of being herd bull candidates: Big, strong footed bulls that are sound structured, stout made and backed by highly productive dams. Whether you are a seed stock producer or commercial cattleman, the opportunity to invest in your next great walking bull with the utmost amount of confidence is possible at this first time event. The females in the sale are the front pasture kind and the donor kind: Foundation females that will be highly productive for years to come. The bred cattle are serviced by some of the most exciting and exclusive sires within the entire industry and are mated to be profitable for their new owners. You can buy knowing the guess work is totally taken out of the equation here as many of the females on offer are backed by donors themselves. The fundamentals will be checked off as only the strongest footed, best uddered, easiest doing, most attractive females are put into the ET program. The calendar year heifers on offer are an exciting set. They will make competitive show prospects and then ultimately turn into great mama cows with a lifetime of production in front of them!
We really encourage you to give anyone at Golden Oak a call before the sale to discuss the offering and your needs. Better yet, make plans to either tour the cattle before hand and join us back for the evening sale featuring elite Hereford and Angus genetics and big time hospitality. If any of us listed from Bohrson Marketing can be of any assistance to you in evaluating the offering or representing your bidding and buying needs, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to visiting with you about this outstanding set of genetics!
Best Regards, The Bohrson

SELLING CHOICE OF TWO FULL SISTERS lot 1A
Our feature Hereford female comes from the heart of what we strive to breed. 4H is an extremely hard one to part with. It’s easy to see how the Royal/Outcross mating has worked when you look at 4H and her full sisters; 209K and 25G (the dam of our feature Hereford bull calf 245K). 4H’s udder is flawless in design. She puts it all together with her length, spring of rib and overall eye appeal. She has the power and design to produce the next great bull calf which may very well be the calf she is carrying out of Hodgeman. When looking at investing in donor females, always look at cow families. With 4H, the guesswork is done for you.
Bred to calve early January to Hodgeman. Daughter sells as Lot 6. Owned with AXA Farms.
The new owner of this calf will have to be prepared to give weekly updates on her wellbeing to Lisa! Whether you are looking for a female to win ribbons and banners or one to be a foundation female in your herd, 209K truly checks all of the boxes. Never has a heifer calf garnered or created so much interest on pasture tours as she has this fall. She is a sweetheart in every way. Being a full sister to 4H and 25G we know the potential this female has and what she will go on to do. We weren’t sure the Royal/Outcross mating could get any better than her full sisters but 209K may have just done it! Words won’t do her the justice she deserves, she is a must see!

Hodgeman was the bull we identified from Sandhills that we needed to add to our program. We had been searching for an outcross bull that puts all the pieces together; homo polled, pigment, strong EPDS, good foot, great mom and that herd bull look. With his late arrival to Canada we only had a handful of calves and they have not disappointed us. His first daughter sold this fall for $27,500 to Manchester's and our feature Hereford bull, lot 24, is a great representation of what he can do. Unfortunately we lost Hodgeman this summer due to injury and have a limited semen bank. The 150 doses is the first and only semen being offered for the 2023 breeding season.
