Department of Agriculture (DOA) turned over production and marketing assistance worth over P3.4 million to former rebels in Bukidnon.

“We thought of making turmeric tea, but it takes a longer time to produce. We have a friend who makes vinegar similar to the Pinakurat of Iligan. We thought this is easy to teach and the earnings are also quite high,” Lt. Col. Rommel Perena, 4Mech Commanding Officer said.

Infantry Battalion handed over agriculture inputs composed of 900 packets of assorted vegetable seeds, 14 bags of hybrid corn seeds, and 98 sacks of fertilizer to 28 former members of the underground mass organization.

The beneficiaries make use of the agricultural materials for their livelihood and share additional knowledge on basic agriculture with their associates.
