I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him.
If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.
We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot
harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
JOHN 12: 12- 23The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!”, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”, “Blessed is the king of Israel!”
Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:
“Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.
Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. Many people, because they had heard that he had performed this sign, went out to meet him. So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!”
Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. “Sir,” they said, “we would like to see Jesus.” Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.
Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

SECOND PALM SUNDAY
This Sunday May 21, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Second Palm Sunday. This holiday is named after the Palm Sunday and the church service is similar and the same hymns are read.
On Palm Sunday we celebrate Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem where people welcomed Him with palms, olive branches and cries of Hosanna. On Second Palm Sunday we celebrate Ascended Christ's triumphant entry into heavenly Jerusalem, where He is greeted with praise and delight by angels.
Specific only to the Armenian church, the Second Palm Sunday was established by Catholicos Gregory II Vegayaser and is based on a marvellous event from the history of our church.
According to tradition, during St. Gregory the Illuminator’s imprisonment in the pit, every day he was visited by the same angel. However one day, the angel did not come. The following morning, St. Gregory asked him about the reason for his absence. The angel
համար, ինը օրեր շարունակ հանդէսներ կը սարքուին
responded, that during His Ascension, Christ had passed through the 9 ranks of the Angels, and they celebrate that feast every year. The angel visiting St. Gregory was from the fourth rank of angelic hosts, therefore, his rank of angels commemorates and celebrates Christ’s Ascension to heaven on the fourth day following the Ascension.
The Second Palm Sunday falls on the fourth day following the Ascension of our Lord, has a 35 days movability and meets from May 3 to June 6.
