THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

The Brampton Batman on keeping the city safe ALYSSA MAHADEO/TORONTO CARIBBEAN Standing at a towering six feet tall, dressed in a battered black cape and cowl, he spoke in a low baritone straightforward and sure. His gaze was penetrating and intimidating, yet his aura humble and pure. For many years The Dark Knight, also known as the Brampton Batman has patrolled the streets of Brampton, looking for new ways to invest in the city’s growth and development. Although he has worked hard over the years to maintain his low profile, The Brampton Batman has come out from the shadows, making his presence known and available here in the city of Brampton. “There is no job itinerary, that’s just who I am.” He states unwavering.

As a man with Jamaican, Canadian and British backgrounds, he is usually a victim of carding and racial profiling. He says that there has been many a time where he has found himself in a sticky situation because of his appearance, and the man underneath the cowl. Continued On Page 3
