What to Do
Visitors are drawn to Guelph’s vibrant lifestyle, its cultural and historical festivities, recreational opportunities and an abundance of natural spaces. Creative cultural tourism has emerged from Guelph’s vital heritage, arts and cultural assets and is based on the idea of offering authentic experiences to our visitors. Nationally known festivals such as the Guelph Jazz Festival and Hillside Festival are just a few examples of the exciting events that Guelph is home to. The University of Guelph is a renowned destination within itself, and is home to thousands of students and faculty who call Guelph home year round. Alumni Stadium now boasts a new synthetic field and eight lane, international caliber track and field events facility. We are happy to welcome CFL fans to Guelph in 2013/2014 when the Hamilton Ti-Cats temporarily move home games to Gryphon’s Alumni Stadium! Guelph’s Downtown has undergone a major transformation in the last 3 years. Visitors can now experience: • An inter-modal transit terminal designed to improve connections between Guelph’s local bus service and regional public transit systems including Greyhound, GO Transit and VIA Rail. • Market Square which provides an expansive setting for civic and cultural events right outside City Hall, along with ice skating in the winter and a splash pad in the summer! • A Civic Museum clustered with a National Historic Site, Church of Our Lady Immaculate
